I'm sorry you had to experience that. I had a therapist who used upspeak (the rising inflection) and I just couldn't take her seriously. It was torture. I literally wanted to scream at her.
A lot of girls also use very weird intonation in their voice, they go higher at the end of each sentence. I think that's why a lot of women aren't heard, most men cut of their hearing when hearing such annoying voice pitch.

To be even more accurate, it shows deception. Just like it would if a man started talking in falsetto. But because he is a man, everyone would give him a lot of grief over it. But girls in America never have their bad behavior called out. Deceptive people are very often under confident in themselves, yes. That's why they wear makeup, use filters, lie about their body count, etc. A fake voice is just one more thing they are lying with. I think that's one of the main reasons people react with anger to fry: it is just so obviously FAKE. To pretend it is their natural voice is super insulting. Like stepping on your toes and then saying you are just imagining it.
