Just think of all of the other maybe hundreds of other songs/tunes that we would probably feel the same way about that never made it on an album and we will never get to hear. Just when you think you've heard every Van Halen song.........
Makes ya wonder just how much great stuff is in the VH vaults. Wish Wolf,Alex,DLR,Mike, and even Sammy would all get together and put together a really goid box set. That ..... would be worth the price it would be .
These have to be the raw demos from the Warner Bros Demos from October 15, 1977. I have the 27 tracks recorded for Warner but edited and for the bootleg CDs. These are different. Pretty sure these are the demos for those tracks.
@@i5150v1I guarantee his ears are…and so are mine. That’s what happens when you’re an actual player, with an ear. Its a Les Paul. Dark, with Big lows with extra mids. Most likely his white LP Custom.
@@Hardvolume007 hahaha that’s funny too. I’m a player of over 40 years, trust me nobody can tell what kind of guitar is being played especially with gain and effects applied.
The guitar might be that explorer on the cover of Women and Children before Eddie butchered it. He cut several songs early in his career using that guitar according to a few interviews I read. Running with the Devil and Feel your love tonight are the only songs I know for sure he was using a LP but I’m sure there were a few others.
@devinw5150 Thanks for the info, brother! I'm a certified sound engineer by the Canadian government and a walking Led Zeppelin encyclopedia. I love Van Halen. I have every album and bootlegs of various materials, but I don't know squat when it comes to the people who are die-hard V.H. Fans. Whenever I post a comment in the V.H. Community either someone clarifies something or I get shat on. I know a lot about a lot of bands, but since I've been documenting LZ for so long and so intensely, I never got really deep in another band. Like the Stones, for instance. Over 50 years, there is a ton to know, and I just can't compare to a die-hard Stones fan.
Page is so versatile with styles that his influence can be heard in everything from the alternative rock of the 90s to the hair metal bands to the heaviest thrash to the singer songwriter folkies
@PlayerToBeNamedLater1973 Good call! Page is not only the most diverse but just as importantly the most influential guitarist of all time. Nobody can pick up a guitar and somehow not have the influence of James Patrick Page in one way or another, often several.
I dunno. Honestly this is a bit dull by early VH standards. It’s not terrible, but it sounds like any other generic 70’s hard rock band could have come up with it. It’s really basic, and not very memorable. I can see why they abandoned it.
While I love Van Halen, I find a lot of their pre-VH 1 songs pedestrian. All of the tracks that were reworked and released later are superior in every way to their earlier versions. It shows an incredible maturing of the band sonically, especially Eddie.
Yeah I tend to agree. To be fair though, I have heard some truly great stuff that predates the first album. There’s no shortage of quality demos and live recordings of songs that never got released in any official capacity, and some of them are every bit as good as the ones that did get released. However that definitely isn’t the case here. This song is pretty bland and boring. Not completely terrible, but compared to the songs on the first two albums (and especially the first album), this is pretty weak. Of course there’s a bunch of sycophants gushing all over it here in the comments, but EVH could have recorded a compilation of his farts and these people would probably say it’s “the most amazing thing they’ve ever heard”, and “why didn’t it get an official release”, and blah-blah…
Im a total VH nerd. This song is lame. It was tossed for reason. It is a slow version of Feel your love tonight. It is still very cool to hear this stuff.
Their harmonies and Michaels voice were such an integral part of the VH sound
So true!

1:51 AVH double bass drums so awesome best drummer ever IMHO

They should have worked on this song and released it on a record. Its great. True VH. The vocals are killer.

Indeed...One Of The First 2 Records...
The harmonies are awesome.
How was this never on an album? Love this. Dave's greatest scream ever is on here!
Great vocal lines🎉🎶✨‼️
Wow that sounds so good. Eddie van halen you are so so missed by millions
If VH was to cover Saxon's Wheels of Steel but at 1/4 the speed during the main intro

F’n Fantastic!!! 👍👍😎 This is Van Halen!!!
Alex looked like one of the Wild Samoans from wrestling back then, 77-78 era....
Wow, I haven't heard this before
Great song!! Thanks for sharing!!❤
This song is killer, they should release it
Sounds like Eddie is playing a Les Paul on this track. It's got a thicker chunkier timber.
Haha, I guarantee your ears are not that calibrated.

Is it me or does this come in like a KISS song.
Yep.
Was just gonna say
Wow !!!!
Oh man! Alex, DLR & Mikey need to release this !
This has VHII era vibes to it. I wonder when this was recorded. Anyone know?
Recorded in 1977

Awesome jam yeah 🤘😆🤘
Sounds like the tape is a little slow and it was actually played faster. Dave's voice sounds unnaturally low pitched.
Love it
Like it
Wow this sounds good 😮
Amazin stuff
Put the comparisons aside this was'still the real VH RIH Eddie
This could've been on ADKOT. More in Dave's register with his aged voice.
Yes yes yes it just missed vthe record really killer
Those vocal harmonies with DLR worked best then...part of that recipe...DLR at full capacity
Sounds better at 1.25 speed
Good call

Is this a Diver Down or 1984 extra track?
This one was recorded in 1977
Eddie with a Les Paul!?😮 1:11 make a wish!
Ehh, I can see why this never made it to any albums.
What ?this song rocks lol
You and me both… but good luck getting through to the sycophants.
Sounds like a Kiss song
That was my take as well. Pretty boring (for early VH) actually.

Wrong. It kicks ass.
