Quite right to call a “track session” Nick. My “track” is a very flat, very quiet 1km stretch of road just under a k away from my home. It’s where I do the majority of my interval sessions. It’s crossed my mind that over the years residents must have thought, “that idiot is back, huffing and puffing away another Tuesday evening” 😂
i think the exact same thing with my hill sprints/ longer hill efforts since i always do them at the same hill on the same side. I must have run past the bottom 4-6 houses hundreds of times now doing hill sprints and i often wonder if any of them think a similar thing hahaha
@@Jockuptown it keeps us busy at least. My stretch has about twenty houses I suppose, a cricket club, football pitch, school, factory, cemetery and even an Aldi. At the end when I’m there with my hands on my knees it must look like I’m about to pass out… 😂😂
Nice 1 Nick, @DP we have markers every 200m, so I prefer to do my intervals on park pavements especially as tracks can be very crowded sometimes. I am also an advocate for speed first then specific marathon sessions closer to your marathon. Making sure that speed is not a limiting factor to achieve a marathon goal/time. But I had to have my 3 layers and double tights plus a hat to do your session on Tuesday....but totally agree with your approach. Thanks again
What a race, enjoy 🎉 I may join. Most arm sleeves are good 👌🏻 obviously I recommend the ones on my website ;) they’re a lot cheaper. Good value for money; www.bestathletics.co.uk/shop
Gotta be South Africa then 😋 love the 5k thought process vids and this kind of content the most! Thank u for taking the time to do these informative videos!
@@yjl33Bro just make sure you’re eating all the micronutrients and nutrition and calories you need and you should be good. 30k a week is kind of low tbh so there shouldn’t be any issues as long as you’re sleeping a lot and taking care of yourself.
HI Nick, was just wondering if i could stay in contact with u on whatsapp or something,so that i can see what u are like as a coach because i would love you to make me programs and stuff,THANKU❤

Hi Nick - what arm sleeves do you recommend? I have the London Winter Run 10km at the end of February - last year’s race was very cold!
What a race, enjoy 🎉 I may join.

Do you think running 30k every week will affect my height growth?
Hmmm not sure about height but may not be the most productive way to train.
Ah thanks, I meant overall weekly mileage not one 30k a week, not at a a level to run that far😢

Do you have certain pace targets you have in mind for those 4/3/2 min intervals or did you run by feel here
Yes I definitely have an idea in my mind. But I’ll run to effort and if it ends up matching my pace, great. If not, I won’t force it.
Thanks Nick. Hope you achieve your goals this year.
Is this same as fartlek?
