you have a crab with range but you yeet your units into enemy base to get it killed by static defense ...

Cybran ED5 shield is the worst shield in the game, for mass&energy cost to shield hp ratio. It's hilariously ineffective.
ED3 is a bit worse than OK. ED2 is pretty nice. Cybran ED1 shield on the other hand isis extremely cheap, but doesn't have much shield hp. It's just extremely spammable. Of course you need more to defend anything really well. For example you can get almost 2 ED1s for the cost of one TMD. Energy cost to keep them running of course matters a bit too.
