I loved bowling in the old Peterson Classic in Chicago.....Always made money! A proprietor I knew very well back in the day won the tournament for about $50K !
I'd love to see the pins up close as I had heard they were always a mess. Saw one of original pins from Archer and 35th it was like 5 lbs. Bowled on some Magna Pins the other day.
As a worker that built this one in bowlero, these are perfectly hand oiled to perfection to make sure there is no 300's! It's like having a 1:1 ratio of a 50 foot pattern
Sambueno had the perfect line - straight from the outside in - the Hardwick line! Those Belmo imitators who want to throw it all over the place have no chance in this when 100% accuracy and speed control counts. I bet Lavoie would do good here since he is more traditional.
I mean, if he was the worst qualifier which was a 182 avg (the kid who is like 18 throwing two hands with his class of 2021 shirt) he still shot 1456 at the petersen which is pretty good.
all the old school players or at least anyone who adopts accuracy and consistency over power will make more money over the long run. consistency and accuracy always wins.
@@tackywacky99 I mean... These two handed bowlers are pretty accurate and consistent. They just change their approach of bowling rules based on their Rev rate. It's all about knowing what you're throwing. When I bowled in high school in 2003 my coach had a two handed player that was accurate but didn't understand the game. One week later my coach was able to literally figure out all adjustments and movements. The game is the same, the rules are the same, but the data is different
@@BetteronDraft okay lets say thats true. two handed bowling will never allow you to make the micro adjustments as you could one handed. Its just that the game has evolved in a way where people wrist the ball for revolutions more than they are lifting through the fingers to create ball motion. Thats why the modern bowling game is flawed and the only reason why two handers are beating the one handers on tour. Not all but the majority of pros on tour who arent successful fall under this category. Unless im bowling a regional or travelling for tournaments. I throw only one ball on all patterns and leagues because that shows if youre really a good bowler or not. A bowling ball doesnt change the fact that a bowler is not consistent.
Anyone who has bowled the Peterson Classic knows there is no rhyme, no reason with the lane conditions. Just pray to the heavens you can carry and pick up your spares. Lol
yep cant bring a knife to a gun fight. the two handed thrower on 3-4 needs a game. its pretty much a chinese block oil pattern, dry in the middle oil buffed on the sides. no area! warning, No area! this is what bowling should be period. nationals used to be this way back in the day, now, joe no bowler ernie mckracken can sling in a 700. nice tournament. love to watch when it takes a clean spare game to avg duece.
@@hotroddj1786 I had the front 6 in my first game and they let birds out to distract me in the Archer Recreation! They would throw heavy pins in the rack! On my seventh shot I slammed the pocket and left a solid 7 - 8 split!

Sambueno kept throwing his great consistent strikes on such straight shots from the right gutter into the pocket, such a skillful bowler!
I love the pete !!! Good luck to all that roll in it
Looks way easier now than back when the Peterson was the richest game in bowling!
nice uploads, watching you guys from Cebu, Phils.

That's not the 35th and Archer Rec!!
My goodness how long is this pattern? Ive never seen bowlers have to throw it so straight in all my life lol.

Rare to see someone use an old fashion 3rd board line.

And the speed control. He was smoothing it, looking like around 16mph.

God almighty, the making units. Awful. You can barely see the tops of the pins. Wonder how far out from the machine they are.
