This is actually a big reason I prefer Parks to The Office. They have these genius recurring side characters that add to the world building of the place they live. The Office generally focused on people who worked in that Dunder Mifflin office, and a lot of episodes were majority in that office. Parks would a lot of times, have different episodes featuring a guest star, with whom that whole episode would revolve around, or have a strong supporting narrative. Then you have recurring side characters that pop up every now and then to spice things up a bit and add to Pawnee character dynamics. The Sapersteins (and their dad), Trevor the lawyer, people affiliated with Sweetums, Joan Callamezzo, Councilman Jamm, Dexhart, Tammy, Barney Varmn, etc.
Definitely agreed on this, and I watched the office re-runs every day for nearly 10 years. Parks was perfect from beginning to end, The Office had ups and downs. There’s also the fact that The Office is about a single office while Parks is about an entire town, so there was far more room for world building.
I love Parks And Rec. i thought the office grew stale after rewatching it. The only other show besides P&R that was similiar and never grew boring was the first 3 seasons of Arrested Development
It is kinda sweet that he celebrates their birthdays But in the other hand it is sad that he isn't much in the picture He doesn't even know how many children he has and I doubt he knows their names either

Absolutely incredible work, I cannot imagine how hard it was to not break character in EVERY single scene you appeared in. Thank you for portraying this man in a downright despicable way!
