“Liberals are done": Poilievre, Singh blast Trudeau party after byelection loss

- Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre and NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh grilled members of the Liberal Party during question period on Tuesday, after Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s political party suffered the loss of a second Liberal stronghold in the Montreal byelection of the LaSalle-Émard-Verdun riding.
“Canadians in the former Liberal strongholds of Toronto and Montreal have now given their verdict. After nine years, this prime minister is not worth the cost,” Poilievre said. “Tax is up, cost is up, crime is up. Time's up.”
“The Liberals have let people down again and again,” Singh said. “It's clear from the results of the election last night, the Liberals are done.”
Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland defended the performance of the Liberals in response, saying that inflation has reached pre-pandemic levels and that wages have outpaced inflation for 19 months in a row.

the PCS won't win the 70+ Liberal seats they still need to win from the liberals should general election be held this year.... and the by election it did win was by such a small margin we could have asked for a recount.... and then the PC's lost another seat just yesterday so effectively they have won nothing... NDP is over 120 seats behind the liberals and 80 seats behind the PCs.... so no chance in hell for the NDP and party Quebec doesn't extend outside of Quebec when it comes to voting so for a big win PC need to win a lot more byelections across the country than the single one they won - and nobody with a brain votes for conservatives...

30 year amortization is good news for banks. Really bad news for home buyers. Eg. A car in the 70s was about 50-60 % of annual income. With the introduction of long term loans the cost has ballooned substantially. But hey. Keep voting in drama teachers instead of economists and find out.

As someone who builds homes.... We're in a slump because of the stress test and new rules to purchasing a home. Lots of guys are out of work at the moment, and the talk around the water cooler is that it's going to be 2-5 years before it returns to normal
