▬▬ About Next Door Neighbors ▬▬
Nashville Public Television’s Emmy® Award winning Next Door Neighbors series looks at Nashville’s status as a new destination city for refugees and immigrants, and explores the rich diversity of people now calling Nashville home. Across the United States, mid-sized cities like Nashville, TN are experiencing unprecedented growth in their international populations. Together these communities are redefining the traditional international city on a smaller local scale. As our new neighbors rebuild their lives in Nashville, their experiences, contributions and conflicts impact the city, but they are challenged by isolation and barriers unknown to many Nashvillians. How Nashville addresses its changing demographic will be important for the future of similar communities across the country.

In the middle of the USA the people are more open-minded, more happy to givs, and more likeable. People on the East Coast are more closed, and those on the West are more artificial. Florida is clearly Hispanic. Alaska is for strong guys. Hawai is the paradise. Cheers from Madrid.

Hi Meg. I'm curious to know what the color distribution of the map that appears at the beginning of your videos is based on when you show the interviewee's country of origin. The colors do not indicate language, nor continents, nor ethnic origin. So what is the criteria for the division by colors? It's just curiosity. Thank you.

Oh wow, that's such a good point. Our graphic designer came up with this map, and when reviewing, I always just looked to make sure the city and country were correct. The orange countries in particular are puzzling. I can't think how they would be connected. I'll ask him. At this point, my guess is that the coloring was largely for design and to mix up the colors or maybe to make us scratch our heads in wonder, haha! Thanks for checking out the video!
