Help! The crusaders are attacking our trade routes.
I was filled with artistic horror when you didn't build the first castle on the cliff top
In some of the older campaign missions, if you knew an ally would betray you after you fulfilled an objective, you could kinda just park an entire army of troops and siege at their base, so you can just quickly decimate their castles and town center the moment they turn.
But it seems like the devs foresaw that with this particular mission in the new DLC, if you go to this obvious traitor's base, he immediately tells you to gtfo or he will just turn on you immediately.
Lol yeah. I was going to destroy green with 2 mangonels but the devs foresaw that haha.
I tried 1 mangonel, seems long but I managed to destroy 1 castle
These Thoros scenarios love their opening sucker punch that leaves you near breathless early on. I don't know if you've done the mission yet but when you pick your base in the 5th one that first attack they send made me reset three times just on it's own.
I know, so annoying.
@@gerriejordaan8385 I couldn't beat it until i rushed out as many spearmen as i could make and a wall and gate.
Just use them fortified churches, my brothers! The scenarios are designed around these new features, so it's punishing if you don't use them.
It was a bit tough but luckily you only need the castle to survive, doesn't matter if the TC goes down or your whole army dies (discounting Thoros). So the last couple minutes you can kinda just throw bodies on the line and garrison Thoros in the castle if need be. Holding the whole city for 15 mins would be super hard but just making sure the castle lives wasn't too bad if you're willing to sacrifice whatever else is necessary

I don't know much about Cilician Armenia, so I didn't know what to expect from this campaign, but I *definitely* didn't expect a bromance between Thoros and freaking Reynauld de Chatillion.
Reynald is like that character you thought was "ok" in the original, but returns with such a flourish that you can't help but love him in the second round.
I guess when they say "attack their traide routes" was a part of that easteregg everyone knows since Conqueros.
When you are trying to mine the gold in the seljuk base, they will tell you, that "the sultan does not allow you to construct buildings on their territory". And I thought. "Good thing that my mulecart is not a building." But.... It counts as a building and they attack you anyways.

Yes, apparently everyone has been saying that the Fereters Research technology is unavailable for some reason in this scenario. Took me awhile to keep the Knight Templars off my back as well as Reynald, though I was surprised he was back. Taking on the Seljuks was a huge challenge.

Funny, I actually found this one the hardest of the three new campaigns, and it's only one sword 😀Also I attempted to pay the Seljuks by stealing the gold from their base. Bad idea, don't try it.
My plan for this mission was to pay off the Seljuks as long as possible, but I guess the game has a hard-coded limit to how many times you can tribute them so eventually the game starts the tribute timer but doesn't give the prompt to send the tribute so once that happens you know you only have a few minutes left until they attack.
Can't wait for Ornlu to get to the Tamar campaign and find out how absolutely broken Monaspas are. Loving the Thoros campaign so far though. Voice acting is good quality too imo!

Yeah just finished the Tamar campaign myself and all I can say is Monaspa x3. These boys are crucial to succeeding in the campaign.
this scenario felt harder then the whole tamar campaign 11 difficulty in general felt a bit off in these campaigns

Am I doing something wrong in this mission? Or does it play out differently to others?
When the seljuks turn on me, they immediately start attacking with at least 100 units per minute and I have absolutely zero chance to fight back.
They have so much light cav that they destroy 4 castles without any siege.
Any advice on this?

What happens if you don't pay the tribute to turks while you are still in war with the crusaders? Everyone attacks you or crusaders will ally with Thoros?
If to ignore payment to turks, they will push few waves together with red and blue. Around ~30min red and blue becomes ally without destroying their castles. Actually it's difficult and challenging way to complete this mission.
Please also do Bukhara again with the new and improved Persian civ, they got a severe overhaul with the new DLC!
I think aoe should have dlc mainly focuses on crusader campaign or any new civz related to crusader other than existing with new units themed on crusaders. I have small hopes on Aoe 4 the sultan ascends new DLC and i think aoe 2 instead got the capabilities to make it. The crusaders theme missions like this one, edward longshanks, and the sicilians one really nailed it!
I was never a fan of these scenarios where you start with pretty much nothing and have to defeat multiple enemies, but this must be the worst one at that yet
Even trying to prepare for the enemy sooner just seemed to make the enemy attack even sooner
