In my latest playthrough of ME, I resolved to do a full renegade run and bring Ashley through the entire trilogy with me, but expressly go out of my way to be an asshole to her and NOT romance her. I'm intrigued to see how it will turn out.
Played so many rpgs with companions, none of them ever ticked me off as much as Kaidan/Ashley. It seems like they hit their head hard in between ME1&2 and become trash characters all of a sudden.
or maybe they're not blindly loyal people that actually have some sense to stand up to shepard and not follow them into working with a terrorist organization
