    Rodriguez was able to keep the budget for what became a 200 million dollar summer blockbuster to below $40 million while still including cameos and the large ensemble cast in part because of his creative use of a relatively small studio space and green screen.

    That's why the arena host's shadow appears out of nowhere in the movie. It's two separate shots and they animated the scene to make it look like the camera moved.
