Great work Alexandru. Not many people sharing this type of content here on youtube. Loved watching your insights. Nice job!
Great video. Thanks for the bts. Lots of youtubers show their face talking in like 80% of these types of vids. Love that u showed lots of bts and b roll rather that watching you describe what u shot. Great work
Thanks a lot for the feedback, I'm happy you like this format. I was lucky I had tons of bts 🙏
You keep calling it a 4x4 frame but it's a 12x12 frame. You're talking about CTO diffusion, but CTO is an orange gel filter for modifying the color temp of your lights not a diffusion fabric. Please don't make educational content without knowing what your talking about.
nice job, thanks! I just wondering, the 4 x 4 you mention around 3:10 looks more like an 8 x 8, and you said it was not full CTO but half CTO.. didn't you mean full grid and half grid?
I refer to 4x4 in meters not feet. I want to say it's a half stop neutral diffusion but something else was on my mind, sorry about that.
@@AlexDon Maybe just review your own videos then before posting…can see how misspeaking like that can really trip new guys up that don’t know what you meant to say.
Great insights! This channel is so underrated! This guy deserve more subscribers!
Thanks a lot! I'm trying my best to get more people in here but it doesn't seem to work as I would like 🙈
Great BTS (NOT "boli cu transmitere sexuala"). Alex, when you said half CTO 4/4 you ment, a half stop of light without coloring the temperature, right?
Haha :)) yes, that's what I meant.
The script writer definitely stole the idea from the movie "Malena" :) A great commercial, I like the color tones.
Definitely my first thought too. Heartbreaking and great movie imo.
That's the main problem with youtube.
Fantastic behind the scenes video. Loved seeing your process and impressed with the detail you went into. Looking forward to seeing more of these 👍
How many ice creams did you burn through, though? :)
Haha, around 30 🤔
You statedyou used 1/2 CTO, did you mean something else or did I miss something?
What diffusion did you use?
It's a half stop neutral diffusion I don't know why I kept sayin CTO :))
the guy at 11:41 running a flat tyre tho :D
Yeah, these kids ruined the bikes 😂
What vest or support or body support system used amazing infobtw
This was absolutely FANTASTIC. Great work man! Shout out from a fellow ZCam (S6) owner.
Just discovered your channel and gotta say your work is very impressive!
Very valuable ideas thank you so much for sharing your knowledge 🤝. -alvaro-
Thank you, subscribed 👌🏾
Excellent BTS Video great content! Top banana!
Shot on Z CAM E2-F6 cinema camera.
i saw this scene on a movvie called "MALENA"
overkill setup for that result, still looks like an amateur cut with a good camera.
Great BTS and awesome work I learned a lot from this as well as some ideas Thanks...
Looking really good!
Thanks for the info
Awsome. so the foza500 just run on v mount battery? How many batteries you used for this whole shoot.
Yes, it works with 2x 24V batteries and it hold like 1:30-2:00 hours.
From where did you get that massive diffuser?
your videos always inspire me, ive been watching you since the beginning and it amazing to see how far you've come.
thank yo so much!
Nice job man! Like always! Are the sound effects from the audio libraries or did you record them during filming? Or both?
Thanks a lot Julius, the sound design it's made by someone else. Although we had sound on camera while recording so they might have taken something from there to.
Could you not have used a mirror or reflector instead of the nanlite?
I noticed that you did not use any form of filter...is there a reason for that.
The script, actress also her dress and the guys on bicycles remind me of Malena with Monica Bellucci directed by Tornatore . Thank you for the bts
Yes, that was the source of inspiration for this.
What’s the easy rig type gear that you’re wearing?
Great, but next time try to change the music to something action packed when the guys are biking to the next spot and back to the first music again. I think that would be cool and enhance the mood
I did not edit the commercial, I was only a cinematographer. If I did it would have been totally different
Excellent video! Thank you for the BTS video as well. USA Companies sure start to hire you for their commercial.
Thanks a lot! Yes, trying to hit abroad clients as much as I can
Lighting is on point! The Forza 500 is super strong. Nice video! Do you still have the Vazen 40mm, would love to see more of it!
Thanks a lot bud! Yeah the Forza 500 is a must have to be honest. I sold my vazen 40 mm and I'm using the sirui anamorphic lenses on the fx6 and a7siii. Seems a better option.
thatss a 8x8 not a 4x4 lol looks good
great behind the scenes. But are you sure that's not a 6x6? :D
Yes, that’s a 6x6, I’ve made a few rookie mistakes mentioning the gear I used 🙈
@@AlexDon haha, no problem. I was just really confused 😂
Melena of today ;)
Awesome work! I’ll go for an ice cream now 🤣
Filmed the entire commercial, haven't even tasted it :))
I love the commercial in general, but the motion cadence seems slightly off on some shots. Where some of the shots over cranked but, in post weren't played back in slo mo?
Like in movie "Malena", great job Alexandru !!!
Thanks a lot, Malena was a source of inspiration for this.
Much effort.
Dude you nail it, every single time 🔥🙌👏✌
Thanks a lot brother! 🤗🥰
Dope video 💯💯
bro that is a 8 by and or 12 by
GREAT update of the similar scene sequences from the 2001 Italian movie MALENA, directed by Giuseppe Tornatore, music by Ennio Morricone. I assume that the copyrights for the movie have expired (or never existed) and plagiarizing of the scenes to sell ice cream bars won't bring you and your director a law suit !
很棒,学到了很多,very nice
Really nice insights! Clearly explained and very educational. Cheers
I'm happy to hear this! 🙏
Tornatore
very cool! would have been interesting to see rec 709 converted footage also when you were showing ungraded
He refers to an 8x8 silk as a 4x4 over a dozen times!
It’s a 4x4 meteres, that’s how we call it in europe
Amazing videos! How do you book all these commercials?
Holy shit dude, wow, good work man!
Thanks a lot man!
Pretty cool! Thanks for sharing, do you plan for traveling to Switzerland soo!?
Thanks a lot! Don't have that in plan, why?
@@AlexDon i would love to connet with youu and Im a swiss guy😉
Great dude.
Felicitari! Arata super clipul! Dar nu va ia nimeni la intrebari pentru ca e fix scena din Malena de Giuseppe Tornatore ?
Multumim mult, asta ca sursa de inspiratie nu ma priveste doarece eu am facut doar partea de cinematografie. So it's the agency problem from now on
Awesome 👍
Looks great. How much ice cream did she have to eat? :D
I think we consumed over 50 ice creams but she did bit only from max 10 ice creams
Very inspiring, thank you! : )
Thanks a lot!
I'm sooooooo so sooooo curious why your team chose to go gimbal for that walking shot vs a dolly/rail setup. Since you were using a focus puller and trying to keep the shot suuuuper stable...It feels like you'd have been able to get the same type of shot with less takes...but I'm on this side of the video and I'm sure there were numerous reasons. I would love to hear about your process. This video is so good. Great work!
can we get a moustache routine video???
haha :)))
Well done on all ends!
Will definitely watch more of your videos
By far my favorite channel. Nice job!
Thank you so much!
man, what a great bus video! you are very good! Subbed.
Very good behind the scenes. From a North American or Western European perspective, what's interesting about the finished commercial is that it would never get made today. It comes from another era.
You mean because it "objectifies women" or because of the style of shots?
@@lukastemberger The former. It's also a very old, tired storyline. In western countries, this would only be made now if the story was turned into a take-off/pastiche on an outmoded, and now unacceptable, view of women.
@@roryonabike5863 It feels like it was inspired by Malena, which is timeless...
@@lukastemberger From the Malèna storyline, maybe not suitable for a TV commercial and rather more complicated :) "Renato becomes obsessed with Malèna, spying on her in her house and stalking her when she leaves it. To fuel his erotic fantasies, he steals some of her underwear from her clothes line."
@@roryonabike5863 Well, you should watch the movie... But yes, I understand, I live in LA and being turned on is more illegal here than guns...
It's important to know that different countries have different histories and if historically there was no burden of rape or abuse there will also be no pushback on sexuality.
Just like some European countries historically never had slavery and called it abominable before it even happened in western countries... There will be no white guilt there naturally.
I get that the ad could be weird in some western countries, but from a perspective of a different nation, demonizing sexuality is weird...
Really enjoyed this video. I'm about to shoot my first commercial and this has helped me a lot!
Nice work
Thank you!
I am also interested to know how much ice cream the actress ate that day because of so many re-takes :)
The shot material is lovely. And the grading is very good. How was it graded?
Awesome bts
thank you!
Great work.
Thank you! 🙏
Loved this! Thank you so much!
Absolutely great job!
Felicitari! Foarte bine lucrat si echipa buna!
Multumim mult! 🙏
Great work! You make the Zcam F6 really shine! :)
4x4? It looks huge
I think an 8X
@@airindiana It's a 4 meter by 4 meters
Very nice Commercial! Great Job! Why do you not use your FX6? :)
It would make it too easy ;)
Thanks a lot! I don't use my Fx6 because client requested the Zcam. Although I used the Fx6 for the behind the scenes shots.
What frame rates did you shoot in ? And Codec ?
I shot this at 6k 48 fps in H265 compression.
I'm kinda new in lighting and aspiring to be a good DOP. I just have a question. During the walking scene, was it really a 4x4 diffusion? It's kinda big for a 4x4.. Or was it a 8x8? Also I saw another diffusion behind her. Was that used as a bounce?
It’s a 4x4 meters, we use meters in Europe. The back one was a bounce.
@@AlexDon was the bounce also 4x4m?
@@426Studios No the bounce was 2x2 meters
@@AlexDon May I know what stands are you using for the diffusion?
