No one is giving any LOVE to the 2x15 Dripman cabinet, those 15's are the Legendary JBL D130's they were GREAT speakers, the 12 inch 60's JBLs were Great too. i can tell that feedbacker needs to be put on all minimal controls to start with, it is interesting but could get unruly. One fellow pointed out that I think it was the legendary drive that was pretty close to the Prize Drive. The Clarity is a real nice Twin REverb tone. I used to own and gig a sliverface, that is what it sounds like. Nice Demo
Got some Dean Deleo/STP vibes when you first went to that little Supro 1x6x9. After that first album he was pretty notorious for using small amps in the studio (which at the time was almost passé since big grungy rocking stuff was the mainstay). Haven’t done the update yet but am pretty excited about that Nonlinear Reverb since I’m a shoegaze fan. Curious if it’ll do all wet.
I’m a big STP fan so thank you very much for that!! It’s a really good sounding little cab…I will definitely use it a lot more in future! I might do another video on the Nonlinear Reverb…it sounded really interesting!!
The problem with Helix is that there are a good choice of cheaper units that sound as good or better. Then there are others that fly in a higher orbit, that those that make their living sitting in a home studio are going to buy. I think they survive off of older players that simply know the name that puts them into their comfort zone. I think their best bet is like they did with their new HX ONE preset budget box make a preset box of their amps. They would sell a million to the over 50 crowd still too nervous to go near modelling. At 76 trust me I know this group they would buy.
I’ve been wanting them to make an “amp & cab” only pedal for years…the HX Stomp comes fairly close but yeah…I think they would sell a LOT of units if they did that and if the price was right!
Always spoilt with the free updates hey, and all their products are compatible with each other... some companies would charge hundreds for just a couple of the new features... not naming anyone...
