She has a degree in composition and a honorary doctorate from the University she studied at for 4yrs. That’s why her music sounds so amazing most of her music is either upbeat and nostalgic, soulful or has a beautiful ethereal feel very grateful to have discovered this amazing woman
What a great little video! I also love the Dimitri from Paris remix of this: the way that the chorus doesn't change key the first time but then goes through the roof the second time! Congratulations to Laura on making a proper album.
💫This song hits me in an interesting way..a different angle. ⛪Its beautiful unique..and as a girl who grew up in the 80's, the nostalgia sounds and feels are wowee! 😍 this song takes on a little different meaning for me.. I was raised in the Lutheran church..but there was never any shame attached to the teachings or sermons or speaking on conduct of a believer. It was always edifying. As a follower of Christ, the Bible, my intuition and discernment tell me that Jesus, Father God, Holy Spirit, Creator never were and never will be about condemnation..🎈only to set us world family free..liberation is in that..this AGAPE love that embraces us always. Sadly organized religion can distort things by framing soul teachings into some punishing mode. Thats not what true relationship with God is. I do believe we should try to refine ourselves daily in surrender and love and show up the best we can in thanks to God for our musical gifts gift of life etc 💜 This song actually helped liberate me in the way of fam members or past lovers bringing shame to me or demeaning me. Everyone has their own experiences 🙂 I appreciate you Laura this is a very cool jam. Love to you🌹
It's a great line, the 'devil on your back' keeping you from truly dancing can be interpreted in so many equally meaningful ways depending on the context of the life of the listener, she's good.. Perhaps even more importantly though, she is continually mastering the art of the BOP more and more, the music she makes slaps hard
It's a great song... I picked up a reference in 'dance with the devil on your back' to the song 'Lord of the Dance' which is a kind of storyline of Jesus' life: when it comes to his death, he says, "I danced on the Friday when the sky turned black - its hard to dance with the devil on your back". I noted she said that was a personal thing to her too; and sure, we can probably all identify with that experience.
She deserves even more fame. Insanely talented
Not your average record company manufactured pop star, but a real composer, writer and musician. A free thinker.

@@jc_80 .. yes her music is so complex and multi layered. There’s so much going on sonically but she manages to blend it all together.
Periodt! And she is making hits! 🔥🔥🔥
petition for laura to release a piano version of church girl please
Also. I would pay so much money for an album of just her at the piano singing her tunes. Would be so wonderful.
I second that! She's one of the most amazing pianists I ever heard. Even when she just improvises, she radiates warmth.
She is to be protected at all costs!
I admire this woman so much!
This woman is just incredible. Please an acoustic album too??
Ugh, she’s absolutely wonderful
Laura truly sparkles✨️
