Damn, X brought me to something amazing
JoeBro915 this type of comment is something he fr would’ve loved
Fax bro
And here I am 2 years later 😊 #LLJ
@@miss_d_joe still here. he won't be forgotten
Same! Young bro never got to grow, never got to see what's next but the one in front of the gun lives forever!
a moment of silence for those who haven’t found this video
Me until 30sec ago! Thx

Dead😂
Just found it. Wow!
Mvula's original is better than this
For me this is a spiritual hymn. So beautiful. I'm not a religious person, but I do find it filled with a positive spirit, from the singing, the lyrics, and the music. Just perfection. Thank you to everyone involved in the production.
Respect
Maybe this religion. I used to be Christian fundamentalist and after leaving a poisening god I can't say that I believe. But in these moments I do. Beyond words.
@@carlosclaptrix God is Love. Don't stop looking for Him... and he will reveal to you
For me too.
I'm completely obsessed with this song ... one of the most moving performances I've heard in years.
RIP X🖤🙏
I've been going through a very hard time in life rn. I don’t even know how to open up anymore. But this song has always held my hand through it. It's tiring being tough all the time. So when I want to feel I come back here. Tonight after a REALLY long time I am going to pray to my God. If nothing I Don't want tp feel so wretched and alone. Thank you.
I love looking at everyone in the room enjoying the shit out of this stellar performance.
Nice letters.
Larnell at 4:35 is probably the best summary of this song as a whole.
Damn, when the solos end and the band comes together... Tears swelled up in my eyes! I found out about Snarky Puppy yesterday and couldn't be happier!
It's been two years since this comment, and I hope you found more from them. I can't wait for a new Family Dinner.
I also just found Snarky Puppy yesterday 🥳 and I'm hooked
Same 🙌🏽
I found out about Snarky Puppy yesterday as well and I can't get enough of them :-)
I noticed my eyes were watery at the end of this, too
This may be the most beautiful song I have ever heard in my life. Thank you to everybody involved in this. Wow.
It really is one of the bests, although I recommend you to listen Ocean wide canyon deep from Jacob Collier, Laura performs there too. Prepare to cry like a baby
Laura's vocals are so hauntingly beautiful, hands down my favorite song on the album.
Bill, Cory, Shaun, Justin. It's like they're one mind. Those solos really flowed one after another.
Really great
Not that they aren't all amazing on all the various keys (they are), but I thought it was particularly nice that they had Cory on the grand, Shaun on organ and Bill on moog. "Normally" I feel like it would be Bill on grand, Cory on organ and Shaun on the moog so it was cool to see them mix it up. Gave it some extra punch
*no intended slight to Justin who always slays on the moog
RIP X
What a collection of amazing keyboarders.....
*keyboardists
*electronicpianokeypressers
Definitely a venue where everyone loves their job.
Hey, they are synthesizers but yes there are some Keyboards and a piano
*keyboardisters
Cant stop listening. Can’t stop crying.
oh my goodness when the trumpets start kicking in after the piano soloists gosh pls God take me
jesus fucking christ, I'm crying.
I'm with tears. What the hell is happening?! What the hell is this music?!
+Yuri Vilas Boas I AGREE. THIS IS SURREAL!
i got the same..
Next time you wipe your ass don't forget to report it here as well.
and to think some people moan about the fact that music in the 21st century is crap and not as good as previous decades, ha ha ha! this stunning!!!
Yuri, my first thought was "How can he love this music and not God?" But then I realized you do, but He's still working on you. (and me.)
I love that she gets so happy after the key solos and everything opens up and the brass and bass and drums and she feels it.
It's really difficult for me to listen to this song without breaking into tears. good selection, SP
Probably my favorite song from the album.
i know what you mean, but there are so many superb tracks...A truly superb album..Snarky are probably the most under rated band in existence.
I went to music heaven just now
+Bella Blair DITTO!!!
+Bella Blair we are two now ...
yup
Holy cow...I thought I've heard music before. The Lingus key solo was the very first piece of music to bring tears to my eyes by shear perfection; this song made me cry with joy for the whole 6 minutes. Snarky Puppy, there are not enough thanks in existence I could give ya for everything you've done for the world!
Couldnt agree more.
Gawd, between this and her new 80's version, I can't choose which is better. Testament to how great the song is, being able to wear so many different dresses without not being amazing.
This is my lullaby every night before I sleep. I suffer from insomnia a lot and I find it very relax listening to this specific version. Thank you Snarky Puppy for making this version of the song, appreciate GroundUp for not putting ANY ads on this. Appreciate it A LOT. BIG THANKS!!!
A special shout out to Shaun Martin on organ. So often in these videos taking what seems to be a supportive role, but is everyone here just a virtuoso.
Beautiful arrangement of a beautiful song, by the beautiful and great Laura Mvula. This is fine musical dining. Laura Mvula is a very underrated singer/songwriter/composer/arranger. To my ears, she is beyond terrific. Well done Snarky Puppy, for recognizing Laura's genius and doing great justice to her song!
I always listen to this song when im going my dark times in my life.... 2020 has not been easy
If it's any consolation, there are many of us that are struggling right now. Those of us that do survive it may come out stronger on the other side. 💜
Same. She did a whole album with an orchestra (including this song) and I always come back to it for comfort and warmth ... stay safe out there
Chin up. Focus on positivity even in hard times. You control your mindset. Don't forget to smile.
This has to be one of my most favorite songs snarky puppy covered. The depth of the words are so beautiful.
This song is beyond incredible.
It's like it's more than music.
Where it all started "X"
O.M.G. I love Laura and I've heard her song so so many times, but this version is so so so much more than I expected. Snarky Puppy is ridiculousness!! This is so beautiful, I have tears in my eyes
In the name of the Art: Thank you for making this masterpiece.
that call and response between Laurva Mvula and Michelle Willis with the backing vocals supplying the harmony at the end is just gorgeous!
Laura Mvula is a singular talent - a once in a generation talent - and I feel lucky to have lived on this earth while she was here - and of course Snarky Puppy - no equal.
I remember about X🕊🥺
This is honestly the most beautiful song I have ever heard in my whole life....Idk how I missed this. I love Snarky Puppy! But this right here....This is a treasure
Angelicals
This song tears me up. So beautiful. Fav song on her album. ❤️
Would have never found Laura Mvula had it not been for this great band.
It's such a satisfying build-and-release... the first chorus is gentle, as though the singer doesn't want to push the subject too hard before they're ready; the second adds a backup singer, feeling a bit more insistent, and a bit of extra instrumentation, but ultimately it's the same at its core.
Then we get the solos - they wander with purpose, as though the broken soul is taking the singer's advice, following the path, picking themself up, learning to love things again...
And then the last solo ends with that one note, the whole band building to the third chorus. Where the main counterpoint to the vocals had been a gentle keyboard before, it's now taken up by the trumpet section, giving this chorus a dramatic, climactic flair, and just building on that. It feels like such a victory lap when the third chorus repeats and the trumpets get a new melody to just emphasize the feeling even more, like a triple red underline
Goosebumps engaged
Oh man, at the 4 minute mark when they come out of those incredible keyboard solos and the vocals just SOAR, that is a PEAK experience in beautiful humanity
5:10 this part and the solo section moved my spirit. Wow. Simply beautiful ❤️
Lauras Gesture at 4.30 looks like her emotions exploding from the inside and she has to get all of that energy out. At this point i cant hold myself
Her voice - no frills, just a pure heart felt tone that cuts into your soul. And the keyboards are sublime
Perfectly stated. Couldn’t agree more. Absolutely beautiful.
This song saw me through difficult times.
I don't know if I have ever been moved by a song as much as this one. I have no words for how beautiful I think this is.
Anyone who can remain unmoved after 4:05 doesn't have a soul.
listening to this song always makes me cryyyyyyyyy it’s so hauntingly beautiful
The lockdown song that keeps me going.
Vice City brought me here....beautiful...
I've become addicted to this song. Her voice is beautiful.
Hello to everyone, who’s enjoying this song in 2019🌟💕💫⏯
Here I am! :) Hello!
Hey there you
sup from 2020 things are terrible here! but this song is still good.
2021 now life still mad
I discovered a few days ago, but I run several times a week. Beautiful played and sung! The song also speaks in 2021!
This has got to be my favorite song on the album
have been listening since 2016 and that 1:40 note never fails to give me chills
I wasn’t familiar with Laura before I attended the film screening, and this performance completely stopped me in my tracks. The best word I can use to describe it is “glorious”. Now, having listened to the earlier versions of this song, I appreciate the modifications Michael League made to it. I LOVE this entire album, but this song in particular left me so inspired!
+Mechum22 And I hope it’s not too attention-whorish of me to say that this song inspired me to remix the well-known Christian hymn “How Great Thou Art”. Feel free to check it out on my channel! --> watch?v=xqTDMZh78R4
4:00 my face at every keyboard solo
hahaha definitely!!! I was almost confused as to why he was the only one reacting this way.
rip King X...
OMG this is the closest thing to heaven in a song or music arrangement. my favorite part is 3:44 to 3:37 the compliment from the synth with the piano, I'm just wondering if that was planned or it just happened in that moment but this hole arrangement was crazy!!!!!! love it.
3:44 to 3:47
I think I might be allergic to this song and performance. My eyes start to run and sometimes followed by chills... goosebumps. Usually the same moments... which narrows the cause of allergy reaction :)
+Sigurdór Guðmundsson
Ahhh...can be.. I have similar reactions. :-)
yes alert the CDC... it's spreading
I dedicate this song to all the Earthlings that suffer and die every day and night. Watch Earthlings full documentary and educate the children the next generation they need to know the truth. Watch COWSPIRACY sustainability secret full documentary make the connection. The planet needs us she's dying. Remember we reap what we sow
Who are you telling ... my allergy meds need to be upped or something, because my eyes are red and watery and I have a lump in my throat when I contemplate the lyrics to this song while listening to this perfect composition.
Me too! Especially at the key solos... omg!
This whole dvd is ridiculously amazing. I wish this type of artistry and musicianship got the recognition it deserves. Nothing but pure talent from everyone who participated in this project.
The keyboards solos was beyond the definition of beautiful, it brought tear to my eyes
i think that's the most beautiful sequence of keyboard solos i've heard from these guys, and that's saying something
heard this a bunch through speakers and thought "eyy, that's pretty good", then put on some quality headphones, and started crying.
This entire set of live performances makes me weep from its beauty
gettin' all four keyboard players in on that solo! absolutely love it
+Delta1382 and both drummers!
I forgot everything.
What I was thinking.
What I was doing.
And even after the song is over,
I don't need anything.
It's going to ring in my mind,
as I sit here the beautiful in-between.
2020 Anyone.......
No
choco _team 😔....Life goes on. 🤷🏿♂️
yeah
Here with ya ❤️
Yes mehn
Cory when Justin is coming in: priceless!!!
I've been a fan of Laura Mvula for a while and Snarky Puppy for a few years. This song is one of my favorite songs from her. Snarky Puppy did not disappoint with their interpretation of her song. 2:25 onward was pure ecstasy. The keyboard solos...ugh. Eargasmic like none other.
Yes
I shattered in a thousand pieces... thx Laura, thx Puppy...
Still love this song.....still here in 2020
Me too in 2023
4:15 my boy said "I got 5 seconds to hit this bong."
LOL
***** he was going to the brass section to play
This just gets better every time I hear it.
We use this show for our ballad in our Indoor Winds program. As a senior, it's my favorite ballad that I've ever played, won us our state championships and now we're heading to world with it. Thank you! On my channel you'll hear it, called "On The Nature of Relativity". Beautiful clarinet solo from the jazz section here too.
I'm so grateful for this one. Took me to a better place..
What a perfect dynamic, damn ninjas peeling onions.. I love this song and the way they're involved while playing it. Perfection.
Ecstasy...its like...its like... loosing your mind and finding your soul...
Ma - Afrika Kekana Yes you dont even know what to do with yourself after that
Oh my goodness am I alive right now? This must be heaven.
LongLiveJahseh
RIP XXX
you truly changed a minimum of 5 million peoples lives
Groove behind the keyboard solo section is unreal.
Hey there you, shattered in a thousand pieces
Weeping in the darkest nights
Hey there you, try to stand up on your own two feet
And stumble into the sky
When the lights go out and you're on your own
How you're gonna make it through till the morning sun?
Sing to the moon and the stars will shine
Over you, lead you to the other side
Sing to the moon and the stars will shine
Over you, heaven's gonna turn the tide
Hey there you, looking for a brighter season
Need to lay your burden down
Hey there you, drowning in a helpless feeling
Buried under deeper ground
When the lights go out it's a waiting game
Never gonna see a day when your world will change
Sing to the moon and the stars will shine
Over you, lead you to the other side
Sing to the moon and the stars will shine
Over you, heaven's gonna turn the tide
Sing to the moon and the stars will shine
Over you, lead you to the other side
Sing to the moon and the stars will shine
Over you, heaven's gonna turn the tide
Just suddenly found myself in musical heaven.
Laura mcvula very talented singer - beautiful collaborations with snarky puppy
The feels are so real in this one!
I was doing my organic chemistry report while listening to Snarky Puppy and this song starts playing and suddenly I was move to tears, what a power in this women's voices, absolutely a masterpiece
Unbelievable!!!! This SONG is from the Heavens
One of the best melodies I've ever heard.
at first I wanted to skip the song, then the chorus started.. since then till now, I've kept on singing this song.. I'm in love with you Laura... snarky puppy, you guys are just..... I love you guys. however you guys found yourselves, it was not a mistake. much respect guys.
Shes so gorgeous. And to match that with an angelic voice.. goodness gracious 😍
Best track on album. The Moog melody, the Soli, everything. Definitely best track.
this connects with the last 35 years of my life like few songs have. Thank you for writing and performing this.
So glad this video is back up! I was freaked out when it disappeared for a couple weeks! This song/video will always be so precious to me.
This is classic Snarky Puppy. The vocals of Laura Mvula as so buttery. This is comparable to any of the vocal performances on Family Dinner Pt 1.
I love Michelle Willis voice

This is an absolutely beautifully tragic song. Breaks my heart and healed it at the same time.
simply one of the greatest performances ever captured
I think this is my favourite track off the album, beautiful.
There's so much outstanding musicianship in that room, that it's almost scary. But fortunately, I don't tend to get scared very easily :-)
I have to seriously pace myself watching snarky studio sessions. The emotions and feels are absolutely real.
Still don’t understand why she’s not bigger than she is!!! This video should be at least 50M+
Snarky puppy does it again! Last year around this time I found Laura Mvula and this song in particular. Got me through things I tell you. Thank you for your music talent and your talent to spot talent
