Yak-3U is the best, most fun prop I've ever played. Especially in GRB where there are many not-that-experienced fighter players and basically noone is above 2000 m. At low altitudes this thing performance is insane. Ofc monsters like P-51 or well-handled Spitfire can cause a lot of troubles, but still - this thing is aaaaawesome. It compresses pretty hard. If you have a plane that handles speed really well then you can drag it and pull on it. Otherwise try to fight it at high alt, like most Yak's it's pretty shit at high alt dog fighting.

Yeah I wholeheartedly agree with you on the high tier props, it is an absolute pain dealing with people who never climb or just constantly stall climb for enemies after chasing down bombers relentlessly. And then you got the people who just camp their airfield or camp in the stratosphere just waiting for tickets to drain and wasting everyone elses' time. And let's not even mention the excessive numbers of Be-6 and Ju-288 bots that I have seen, there has been at least 2 each match for both teams, not just one. And I don't know if it's people just trying to be "haha look how funny and typical this is" but almost all of the bots have Chinese names which isn't much surprising with the reputation many of those East Asian countries have for having the most people hosting bots or developing in-game cheats.

I was playing an F8F and my teammate, either in a Yak 3u or 9k, shot my tail off after I lit someone on fire, apologized, then stole my kill. Keep in mind, the enemy was to my left where he had to intentionally aim for me
I feel you on the props, people always told me not to buy a premium jet for your first plane but I could not stand playing props anymore, even though i only get like 2 to 3 kills a game in jets it beats flying for 20 minutes and having everybody hide.

This was interesting, I have been flying the 6.0 corsair in france and while i mostly get ju-288s to fight. Most fighters will try to duke it out. Low tier props is where i see the most airfield camping and i could really just lose my shit with it.
Guns are iffy lately but I have had great results using the default shvak belt. The FIT rounds work alot better after an AP round puts a hole and lets fuel spill out first
I really enjoyed playing the Spitfire Griffon but 80% of the match it's like watching joob play. Either they die quickly and one person circles to the airfield or your team just hammered the enemy and i got like 3-4 assists. Truly peak war thunder
That Ki-84 is a massive reason I stopped being an air main. That Ki-84 could seriously challenge you and quite possibly win with relative ease if he bothered to learn how to use it. But no. Just fly around, do nothing and waste a full 20-30 minutes or more. Even when the entire enemy team is in me I rather just get in to a massive dog fight just to be done with it because that's alot more fun and lets me get into a new match far faster than SITTING ON AA FOR HALF AN HOUR
6.0 is like a farm for Premium Meta planes imo. If there's a full team of JU288s my F2G is gonna make me a lot of money blasting them. It's rare getting good dogfights in that br though.
Yeah I think a lot of the negatives of high tier props could be solved with either removing base AAA after a few minutes. Then people are forced to stay and fight or try to run forever. You have to try and watch your fuel or bring more, you have to watch your ammo and make smart shots. And you dont get a win it all card by running back to your airfield.
you should try the He-162 (unironic). it's actually a pretty decent plane as long as you keep your speed, and dictate engagements. climb at 7-8 degrees straight off the airfield (doesn't accelerate well enough to zoom climb) up to about 3.5km, then just roll from there. you outturn the F2G also, if you do it right
Unironically if you want to fly out planes in this BR, just play arcade. No airfield camping, no bombers in space you need to kill but can't climb for, no climbing for 5 minutes and dying or RtB after your first kill. It's just a lot more fun
If you get the ability to play sim at all superprops are fun as fuck, as you dont really get to see much bomber spam and easier to stall people as theres no instructor to hold you back. Oh, and the cannons work almost all the time.
i stopped playing this plane entirely after real shatter, on that update i played 3 games 1 game my aim was cracked but still only got 1 kill and 3 assists laying into people. the next game i slotted onto an afk fw190 and put about 130 rounds into him, tail, both wings, even the bottom of the fuselage and eventually he came back and just started diving and actually made it back to base and repaired. angered me so much i shelved the plane entirely.
While i understand the frustrations of people who abuse Airfield AA, it's also a bit of a neccesity for those who are RTB with no ammo. Literally nothing you can do if someone chases you back without AA to defend you.
What's wrong with that? If you are being chased and have no ammo... You lost the fight. Get a teammate to help you or try to get a maneuver k***. Why should you get AA protection if you want to RTB?

Teammates covered each other while refuelling/rearming. If you just mindlessly landed without air cover you got strafed. Yak 3P is more enjoyable than the 3U in my experience, because you don't face a lot of high altitude players and the matches are more fun. The nose gun is super accurate for headons, and the ammo count is more than enough for 5+ kills. Yak3U is superior, but it is forced to fight at higher altitudes and against faster enemies. Yaks perform their best when defencive flying at low altitude, and when engaging a furball at the deck since it recovers it's speed extremely quick.
play the premium do335, you can climb 20 degrees to like 2500 3000, then climb 10-15 at 300-400 km/h. youll outspeed everyone if you miss your shots, get easy angles on unsuspecting bombers, and have an alt advantage on everyone because of your airspawn. Also the engine power is just peak and the engine set uo makes it super survivable, since if you take engine damage during a fight, you can still cruise back your af at like 300km/h at the deck. Also you have 350 30mm rounds on 3 cannons which is usually enough for an ace if you play like joob
I LOVE playing props, especially after having learned how to play well... but I can not FREAKING STAND bomber players and AF campers. Gaijin NEEDS to fix this. Sick of there being one or 2 bombers at the end of each game in space, absolutely destroying anyone in like 3 seconds who gets slightly too close... or idiots who sit at the AF and wait for tickets to bleed... or don't, they're just little cowards who won't even try to fight. Even as a noob, I always went out to fight till the end... these players again nothing but boredom from AF camping, and yet they do it...
I don't really see that much airfield camping in 5.7 br anymore. Idk what happened but it seems to be the most fun br to play for me at the moment. As long as you aren't playing germany you just get a ton of free bomber kills and then a couple dogfights to end the match
I think one possibility is having some bomber bring like 10 100 kg bombs along side their like 2 1500kg bombs and then try bombing all of the airfield aa out so the enemy cant use it although idk how many bombers can do this
5.7 - 6.3 aircraft atm is the most boring B.R range as you have to deal with JU-288 Spam so you are guaranteed to be chasing at least 1 or 2 players camping airfield, as they don't want to "lose SL" or their "K/D" I bought my way past 6.3 for the US Air Tree as it got so boring to a point where I got stuck pretty much as I couldnt get any kills / do any obj's as a JU-288C player would be running and half our team would have to chase him for about 15 min
I feel exactly the same about superprops. They’re in my opinion some of the most interesting planes in the game but the matchmaking and bots and disabled players just make the 5.3-6.3 range awful

But I do reckon you should give the la9 a chance it’s supercharger changes gears at 4500m and you lose wep over that alt it’s still good I don’t recommend climbing over 5500 tho bc you just don’t need it if anyone above dives and you dive normall you can outrun them the la9 is fuckoff fast and can turn like a spitty it’s air cooled and made of wood so it’s lighter than most others doesn’t give it a worse damage model tho lmaooo. But that means under 4500m you can out turn anything at its br it’s a nasty turn fighter and raid fighter. Bc you won’t overheat full wep turning like nonstop just open full radiator on a hotter map if you need to but close it a little after your fight.
You should play the spitfire mk 14e Its a super fun dogfighter and you can do pretty much whatever you want in it and win. Only problem is the 288s which you probably will not kill with your shitspanos and .50s
It's actualy crazy how the JU 288 destroyed 5.0-7.0. Gaijin should just remove it from purchase and with time there will be less and less of them. It actualy sucks so much because 5.0-7.0 is the apex of prop gameplay but you don't get prop gameplay you get "catch the prototype bomber with the tail gun that can instantly kill you" gameplay for the allies and "1vs5, have fun dieing" for the axis.
Listening to you whine tests my patience ;P But really, if you aren't having fun, try changing it up. Rush in to collect the attackers, then try to counter the fighters that come in after you or something. The Yak3U is good enough to make it work probably...
It’s really not props Joob. It’s Gaijin’s LOVE if incentivizing bombing in a mode designed for air combat…. Attackers aren’t that bad. They stay low at least. But ticket loss is just ridiculous. As well as AF aaa.
Ta-152H is actually fun, since MK108 does perfect job and the plane itself is super good if you use landing flaps smart

the matchmaking is suboptimal but superprops are very very fun to fly

I think one possibility is having some bomber bring like 10 100 kg bombs along side their like 2 1500kg bombs and then try bombing all of the airfield aa out so the enemy cant use it although idk how many bombers can do this
bombs don't kill on airfield unfortunately

5.7 - 6.3 aircraft atm is the most boring B.R range as you have to deal with JU-288 Spam so you are guaranteed to be chasing at least 1 or 2 players camping airfield, as they don't want to "lose SL" or their "K/D"
I bought my way past 6.3 for the US Air Tree as it got so boring to a point where I got stuck pretty much as I couldnt get any kills / do any obj's as a JU-288C player would be running and half our team would have to chase him for about 15 min

I feel exactly the same about superprops. They’re in my opinion some of the most interesting planes in the game but the matchmaking and bots and disabled players just make the 5.3-6.3 range awful
So glad I don't have to grind through these BRs nowadays, disgusting just by looking at it 🤢 I used to love the Yak-3U and these BRs, but when the Ju 288 spam began this BR bracket was doomed

Joob it’s the same for me man it just makes me sad tryna fly and do the things I used to guns won’t damage ppl, bomber cancer ruins every game there’s just so little fighting. But I do reckon you should give the la9 a chance it’s supercharger changes gears at 4500m and you lose wep over that alt it’s still good I don’t recommend climbing over 5500 tho bc you just don’t need it if anyone above dives and you dive normall you can outrun them the la9 is fuckoff fast and can turn like a spitty it’s air cooled and made of wood so it’s lighter than most others doesn’t give it a worse damage model tho lmaooo. But that means under 4500m you can out turn anything at its br it’s a nasty turn fighter and raid fighter. Bc you won’t overheat full wep turning like nonstop just open full radiator on a hotter map if you need to but close it a little after your fight.

You should play the spitfire mk 14e Its a super fun dogfighter and you can do pretty much whatever you want in it and win. Only problem is the 288s which you probably will not kill with your shitspanos and .50s

It's actualy crazy how the JU 288 destroyed 5.0-7.0. Gaijin should just remove it from purchase and with time there will be less and less of them.
It actualy sucks so much because 5.0-7.0 is the apex of prop gameplay but you don't get prop gameplay you get "catch the prototype bomber with the tail gun that can instantly kill you" gameplay for the allies and "1vs5, have fun dieing" for the axis.

Listening to you whine tests my patience ;P But really, if you aren't having fun, try changing it up. Rush in to collect the attackers, then try to counter the fighters that come in after you or something. The Yak3U is good enough to make it work probably...
It’s really not props Joob. It’s Gaijin’s LOVE if incentivizing bombing in a mode designed for air combat…. Attackers aren’t that bad. They stay low at least. But ticket loss is just ridiculous. As well as AF aaa.
