You are NOT going to believe this.... We explored 9 mile canyon a day after you released this video and we SAW THE DEER WITH A BROKEN LEG ! It was grazing in a field with about 30 other deer. We're releasing a video about our trip through the area today but unfortunately we didn't get the deer on video. I should've turned around and filmed it but we were tired and hungry and ready to get back to town. Just thought you'd appreciate that the deer seemed ok (for the most part).
In Denmark there is a service you can call, if you hit a deer, so a hunter will come (with his dog), and track the injured deer and ultimately shoot it to end its misery. Denmark is a small country with many deer, so it’s a problem in many areas. And there are seasons when you are adviced to drive in the middle of the road (when there is no other traffic obviously), in order to react faster if it comes from one of the sides of the road. It’s just super bad luck, but good thing nothing happened to you or the car after all.
@@robinsmith5442It pretty much is a full time gig in scandinavia too, in Sweden each municipalty has an employed hunter, and you are obligated by law to report any animal collisons too the police and mark a tree or other suitable spot to point out which direction the deer ran off before leaving the scene.
Hi Eric and Allison! We watch you from Puerto Rico. We hope somday you can come here and if you do just get in touch with us. My son and me enjoy very much your adventures. Don't ever feel bad to talk about your feelings like with the passing of Allison's mom. We heard you speaking about your mom and it broke our hearts. Eric don't hold your tears, you are human. This trip has been absolutely awesome.
In the UK I hit a pheasent and I am not allowed to stop and pick road kill up. However my colleague following me did stop to pick it up.... Only it wasn't dead, after a few minutes I could see in my mirror a really cross and mad phesant flapping around in his car...... 🙂
True story. My uncle shot a deer up northern BC & went to put it in the back of the truck to find a small cougar in the back. They emptied their toolbox and somehow caught it in their toolbox - and then left the tool box out the back of the truck while they went back for the rest of the deer. When they got back - the tool box was gone. As they drove home at the next bend - there was an SUV with American plates upside down off the road - apparently the occupants helped themselves to the tool box and one of them opened the box as they drove along to check out the loot they had recently acquired ….
When you hit a deer over here in Northern Europe we call 112 (that's 911 in European) and tell the police what's happened. They will then ask you to click a link in a text message that will send your exact location to them and they will then dispatch a local hunter to track and take down the wounded animal.
We don't have that "official" direction in Oregon, but if the police can get there soon enough, they used to load the dead deer in their vehicle and take it to the state prison to be butchered for prisoner meals. I'm not sure they do that anymore though, prisoners have become pretty choosy lately ... Oregon's roadkill rules are relatively simple. For starters, skunks, raccoons and possums are off limits. Only deer and elk can be salvaged. After a motorist strikes a deer or elk, or finds one hit by another vehicle, they can salvage the animal. I think people complain that others hit deer "on purpose," in order to get the meat out of season or without a permit, but that's a pretty expensive way to buy meat!!! Deer or elk can cause HUGE and expensive damage! If the deer is alive and still visible at roadside: Doing so may cause it to run across traffic causing another accident. Do not move or handle live deer, this needs a trained specialist. Call the Police.
There are over 25 million deer in the United States and we have millions and millions of other wild animals that are more than happy to eat the deer. Circle of life
Sorry about the deer but fair deuce for saying these things happen and not editing it out. It must have been tempting to do so, but you were authentic about it (and if it affects the rest of your day the audience knows why).
We're pretty jealous about that! Moab's amazing, but sadly the land and property prices are bananas nowadays. We could see ourselves spending a lot more time there in our RV in the future, though 😍
regarding the deer.. in our neck of the woods, (southern oregon coast area) when deer are out in mid day .. there usually is something wrong with them... but that said, that long road may have so little traffic ... it might be normal. That said, I have used the two deer whistles on the front of my vehicle stuck in a relatively safe spot (not out on top of the bumper) ... and they have worked. They hear a whistle coming from a long way off and you can see them turn their heads etc. Some say they don't but I have really noticed... that said, dawn and dusk is still something to be careful when driving.
Dear Erin, “deer whistles” are a scam, they do nothing. They used to be “a thing” 20 years ago here in Pennsylvania. Now, I can’t remember the last time I saw them on a car.
I drove through Moab on a whim about 10 years ago and it blew my mind. I grew up in AZ. I did the Sedona/Grand Canyon thing a hundred times... but Moab left me speechless. And the people, tiny motels, and restaurants in the surrounding 50 miles just won my heart. Enjoy the trip. Yer gonna luvit.
I’m British, and was just in Moab in December/January! So funny to see you guys heading there. Looking forward to the video. Utah really is such a mind blowing place to visit. Feels like another planet, especially to a European!
It's not just us 21st century folk who are unoriginal with our graffiti - the ole initials and date combo is a classic dating back well over 100 years, as evidenced by the graffiti all over the ancient monuments in Egypt, Greece and Italy. I think Flaubert got annoyed with all the random names written all over the place in Egypt back in 1850 :D
That breakfast looks absolutely delicious and I eat kielbasa with breakfast all the time. It goes great with eggs but I would not want the sauerkraut with it❤
I'm so excited to watch this after work!! Utah is number one on my bucket list of states to visit!! There is so much more to Utah than I ever even imagined would exist!!
I've been all over this country and Utah is the best for majestic beauty. Jaw dropping scenery everywhere and it changes by the season and even by the hour.
This was fun to watch. Born and raised in Utah and know it well. You're correct that you can spend you're whole life exploring it and now see it all. On you're way to Moab, you will be passing by my favorite place in the state. Sorry, I'm not telling where it is. Have a great time in Moab. Check out the needles overlook and dead horse point. I'm heading that way next week, on our way to see the eclipse.
Hello Allison and Eric. Our host in Texas warned us about deer and how they were bigger than UK and possibly deadly if they came through the windscreen. For Utah we were on the Greyhound, but as per last comment, I am jealous seeing you driving yourselves and able to go where and when you choose. The thing one bus hit that was not good for it or us was a skunk. What a smell!
We passed through Helper on the California Zephyr in 2014 and were told the town got it's name from the fact that's where the "Helper Trains" would wait to couple up to assist locomotives climb the steep gradient
As per your Wyoming video (where I mentioned that my Great Aunt emigrated to after WW2 from the UK) it has also been great to see the marvels in Utah. Guess what? The brother of my 3 x Great Grandad left the UK for Provo in 1862. It appears he was involved in the LDS movement back then, but felt he had to leave the UK. I guess it must've been a massive contrast to his native Nottinghamshire! As we say here in France... Bonne route!
We're happy the snow kept the crowds away, but it'd be nice to do the hike in warmer weather. Glad you know just how beautiful the springs are in real life 😍
Thanks so much for the Helper suggestion. We’re on a trip from Washington State to all 5 Utah National Parks. That’s 1200 miles to Moab. We needed to bee-line to Salt Lake City (3 days) and then find a place to regroup before we push on to Moab. We ended up at Castle Gate RV Park, and then took the drive to 9 Mile Canyon. We got lunch at Balanced Rock and then breakfast a couple days later. Their food is brilliant! So is the food at Helper Brewery, and the beer is good too. This town is really a neat little hidden gem that we would not have found were it not for your video! We ended up extending our stay a night because the winds between Helper and Moab were gusting above 50 and we did not want to drive in those winds. Great little place! Great recommendations! And we shared the link to your video with several locals in town. They were very appreciative!
This adventure was so fun to watch! Also love Eric’s comments about the petroglyph being “anatomically correct” hahaha. Made me laugh out loud. I feel like that’s something I would notice too. Thanks for giving me some travel adventure to enjoy while I’m at home!
Fantastic Footage wauw so Beautiful 😍 ,those hot springs looked tempting 😅 but indeed be careful with The Bacteria etc. What a wonderful Trip through Utah, looking forward to your next video to Moab 😊 Have a Good weekend 🥰safe travels
7:25 the truck with train wheels I have always wanted to drive one all over the country to go places you can only get to on train tracks without having to be around a bunch of people on a train! I can go at my own pace and can stop for gas in any town I want! How cool would that be!? LOL✌🐢
Question: @12:42, Re: Nov/Dec, wouldn't there be a major shrinkage factor (especially with no clothing)? 😂😂 This vid was another blast, including the funky 70's music. See y'all in your next adventure. Cheers!!

There‘s a sign on the way to and from Louisville to Cincinnati, at the site of the bus crash, that reminds drivers of the horrible event. It gives me cold chills every time I pass. Can’t imagine what the students that lost their life felt like in that horrible place.
Absolutely Beautiful there . Thanks for sharing this amazing journey n adventure with me. Safe travels. God Bless Ya'll. Mucho Love from your friend, Tam ❤❤❤
One could spend a month exploring Utah, but the most interesting parts to spend time is from the Bonneville Salt Flats, Great Salt Lake and south is the most interesting and beautiful canyons are as well as 10,000' mountains. Our daughter lived there for several years so we visited each spring and fall which are the best times to go unless you want to avoid other people.
When you go to Moab, there use to be a Stuntman ( Stunt Double) museum in town that was small but very interesting. Don’t know if it is still there, but worth a visit.
We just did this for our last video too! Though it was in the summer when we went. Looks amazing with the snow... plus being captured by people that actually know what they're doing with a camera. 🤪 Glad you guys enjoyed it, despite the banging love birds. 🤣
Oh ya, we'd definitely love to try it again in warmer weather. The snow was beautiful, but boy does it make hiking a lot harder 😅 and maybe in the summer the crowds would keep the love birds from making quite such loud love 🤣🙈
Very familiar with those hot springs. They are great. While in Moab check out Shafer trail go from the moab side then you end up near the entrance of canyon lands. Its a great trail for a stock rig like yours
Allison. Allison. You make Eric into one very lucky guy! Keep being so beautiful and uplifting all the time. I hope you two are always good to eachother. Nice muffler, Btw. Cheers

1000 years old. It does make me smile, the difference in perspective as to what old is. Pretty sure there are books that still exist that are of that age or older. Living in a Roman town in the UK, where Roman walls are still easily visible all over the place, that are 2000 years old, and in Fishbourne there are remains of a Roman palace with intricate mosaic floors still intact. An interesting insight into North American native culture, something which no doubt we would have never had the chance to see in our lifetime. Thanks.
That's so sad about the deer 😪 But yeah, sometimes this can't be avoided. I lived in Northern Finland for 7 years, where quite regularly reindeer get hit. Or if you're very unlucky you run into a moose. Incredible sceneries though, those hot springs looked awesome! I guess that other couple thought so as well 🤣
I hope to find a hot spring someday in my life, feels like one of the few things I haven't done. oh polar bear dip, not doing it and sky diving or bungy jumping. Have not seen a sandy desert or hot spring.
The deer 🦌 is talking to his mates ... Mate I just meet Alison and Eric from endless adventure . Deer 2 wow did you get an autograph deer 1 even better check out the Rudy Suzuki tattoo is impressionist image
It reminds me of Pamukkale in Turkey. Only difference, is that when I was there, it was in the middle of summer and (obviously) really hot. Still really cool though.
Another Awesome Adventure Guys so happy you did not get hurt by the Deer looking forward to your next Awesome Adventure Thank You🙂❤👍Watching from NB Canada🙂

An interesting insight into North American native culture, something which no doubt we would have never had the chance to see in our lifetime. Thanks.
and then there's Keith Richards........

Good afternoon Eric and Allison Utah looks amazing art road epic but the hot plunge was wild the best pancakes and maple syrup 😘🌸☕️☕️👙🩳
I guess that other couple thought so as well 🤣
You should go see the Bushmen paintings in South Africa. Some date back 2500 years and were not carved, but painted.
I hope to find a hot spring someday in my life, feels like one of the few things I haven't done. oh polar bear dip, not doing it and sky diving or bungy jumping. Have not seen a sandy desert or hot spring.
I love you guys! Your videos are always so fun!

It reminds me of Pamukkale in Turkey. Only difference, is that when I was there, it was in the middle of summer and (obviously) really hot. Still really cool though.

Make sure you have someone check out your front suspension on the side you hit the deer. Also you will probably now need the front and aligned. Sorry.
