New Engine Water Pump from 1AAuto.com trq.video/ib-1...
This video shows you how to install an engine water pump on your 2009-2018 Ram 1500. The water pump keeps coolant flowing through your engine. Common failures of the water pump will leave the coolant leaking, or stagnant. Both will lead to overheating if left untreated. Install a new engineered to fit water pump from TRQ for total peace of mind.
This repair was done on a 2010 Dodge Ram 1500 Truck and the process should be similar on the following vehicles:
2009 Dodge Ram 1500 Truck

This was absolutely incredible.
Still took me 7 hours from start to finish, but this guide left no room for doubt and I have successfully completed this project on my 2013 Ram.
I cannot thank you enough for the level of detail, not only in the video, but also the written information on what is needed.
You rock!
Definitely one of the best videos. No annoying music, or needless blabbing. Thank you everything to the point
I have watched many how to videos on YT but this video without a doubt is the best most thorough most easy to follow video I have ever watched..... amazing job brother, Thank you very much.
As others have said, this is one of the best instructional videos on yt.
Fantastic job, keep up the amazing work!
Now that is how you do a "how to" video. Can't thank you enough! Great job.
Such an amazing video, giving all the socket and wrench sizes saved me so much time, i grabbed a tray and pulled them all ahead of time, very detailed, without this video i may have been in over my head, which means i would have to call my father in law (retired mechanic) but i only had to call him to discuss the color of the antifreeze that was in the truck originally
If I was not for this video I would have paid $100s in labor. I have little knowledge on vehicles and did this all on my own. Thank you bud for real!
10 out of 10 video I did it step my step if I had the tools and a shop like you it’d take maybe two hours but took me like 7 very time consuming
Excellent and very helpful video! I just ordered a new Mopar water pump for my '09 Dodge Ram and will be watching this again as I replace mine.
Thanks for posting this!! 👍👍

Update.....watched your video last evening and changed my 2012 water pump this morning. Your tutorial was spot on. Thank you so much👌
Great video. Nothing annoys me more then needless yibber yabber that adds several minutes or more to a video. Keep up the great work and great videos!
Thanks a million for making this video, very accurate, descriptive and just made this job so much easier!
This might be the best instructional video I've ever found for any of my vehicles. Keep up the good work!
nice tip on the thermostat pin
I really enjoy the content of this channel! The details and helpful tips to get the job done properly are very helpful! Thank you!
Good 👍 job ,I need mine replaced right now so come on down lol 😂
This was a great video guide! Just did my 2015 Ram, everything worked out. Thank you!
Thanks for all the info., my son and I are going to install a new water pump on a 2016 Ram this weekend and this video will heip alot.
I'm not sure about the razor blade. I like to use a plastic scraper so I don't scratch the aluminum and create a problem where it may start to leak. Also a dish washing sponge with an abrasive side works well...that's just me though
Why was the air box cover and sensor removed for this? Clearance for the AC lines to be out of the way?
Tha absolute best instructional video ever. Thank you so much for the content. Please keep up the work. Thanks again.
Motor city mechanic has a great video on bleeding coolant on 5.7 . Just remove bleeder and fill to coolant comes out and seal .
If your gasket comes off of the thermostat when you pull it out, make sure you put the gasket ON the thermostat. Not behind it.. not in front of it. ON IT. RIP a gallon of coolant.😢
Your video worked perfect on my 2011 Dodge Ram and I can't thank you enough for making this video. You did an amazing job!
Excellent video, incredibly easy to follow and very thorough.
Your guys videos are always so informative and complete well done and thank you for presenting
Great video. I had a few different items on my 2010 ram 1500
I have 2 fans, one is electric mounted to the radiator. The electrical connection mounted to the fan shroud.
Excellent and professional video! Very helpful - THANK YOU!
great video. though the only part besides the pump not worth replacing during all this is the sensor. i will always replace the pulleys, tensioner, belt and thermostat. dont matter how much a part costs. if your doing it yourself, you are saving money
+@mikelangston7699 Thanks for watching our video! 1aau.to/m/Shop-TRQ
2 questions. What did you spray on the pullys near the end to clean off the coolant before putting the belt on? What was that screw you tightened on the new pump near that centered stud bolt? Looks like an Allen screw?
Best video for this job. Detail is top notch.
Very well thought out video. The Ram book time is three hours to replace the water pump. How long would it actually take assuming having all the correct tools and a hoist?
You can also remove the reservoir hose and use something to suck the fluid out into a pan below. Once the vacuum is started gravity will do the rest.
Do any of the bolts need thread sealant ?
Thank you for this video. It was super helpful.
great video thanks.
What's the part number for that tool that you hook up to an air chisel
I watched the video and bought the water pump and radiator from 1A, because I want to overhaul the system. However, I am having a lot of trouble removing the fan. The nut is frozen on. I tried the big wrench and hammer first, and when that didn't work, I bought a pneumatic fan clutch wrench like you used in the video. However, mine is not coming off. I'm anxious to get on with job. Do you have any suggestions? My compressor produces 5 CFM @ 90 psi. Do you know if that's enough power? Thanks
Thank you so much for this video!!!
I appreciate your instruction, well done!
I had this exact procedure done to my 2014 Ram 2500, new water pump and thermostat, but now it sounds like my cooling fan is really loud upon acceleration. Any advice or input is appreciated!
great video, thanks!!
Very good video. Thank you.
+Bob Fish Thanks for watching our video! 1aau.to/m/Shop-TRQ
Thanks brother 😁
+Explorando la naturaleza con odali Thanks for watching. Buy the part in this video on 1AAuto.com: 1aau.to/m/Shop-TRQ
He’s the best host
What did he spray on the pulleys?
Excellent video 😊. Make it look easy. Ty
Thought I was gonna have to take the front of my truck off for this😅. This is nowhere near as bad as I was imagining
what's the timeline?
Great video, Ty!
very well done video! totally saved me thank you.
Quick question, the coolant supposed to be pink or purple and the one you installed is green. Does it make a difference in your opinion to install that type of coolant. I know is kind of hard to find the correct one so it makes me wonder.
Can you did this on a harder car instead of easy trucks
Why un hook the battery?
Wow.
Now I really understand why it costs so much to have that done.
Hold up, that's the guy from 1A Auto...
+Casey Strong Thanks for watching our video! 1aau.to/m/Shop-TRQ
How much for a work like This?
Instead of a bleeder screw my 17 Laramie has a hose port. All the superseded and aftermarket pumps all have the plug. My original pump was discontinued. Anyone know what the hose is for since I can’t find anything about that ?
The best
Thank you
my clutch fan moves when i start hammering it
Great Video... But That coolant was pink/ orange when he first drained it..... Not green.. Mopar uses Pink/ orange... I say pink /orange because in plain sight that coolant looks pink but the dealership says it's orange but there's a complete difference between " ORANGE COOLANT AND MOPARS PINKISH ORANGE COOLANT.... I say this because I own an DODGE CHARGER AND IT DOESN'T TAKE GREEN COOLANT BUT THE PINKISH COLOR COOLANT.
GREAT VIDEO BUT PLEASE USE THE RECOMMEND COOLANT FOR MOPARS...FOR ANYONE WHO OWNS A MOPAR.. NOT TAKING AWAY FROM "Mr. Nice"
This guy sounds something like chrisfix.
Bruh why y’all didn’t show each bolt one by one
This looks nothing like my 2011 dodge ram 🤦
Probably because you have a V6
better off to replace the truck
I was curious about bleeding the coolant when it’s full. Won’t running my truck with the cap off spray coolant everywhere?
