    I do not believe that it is possible to create such rankings based on objective reasons - i.e. independent of personal preferences. All the guitarists mentioned belong or belonged to the top of their profession in their time, but so many are missing (e.g. Lagoya, Presti, P. Romero, Lislevand, Russel, the South Americans also have brilliant performers, etc.). All these world-class guitarists are so closely related in terms of their abilities and musical expressiveness that differences between them cannot be objectified.

    I più grandi - una gran parte dei più rinomati - li ho ascoltati dal vivo, a cominciare da Andres Segovia, già, però, avanti negli anni.
    Difficile scegliere fior da fiore, ma, se proprio fossi costretto a fare un solo nome, direi: David Russell.

    I've seen Williams, Russell, and many others in concert, but for me the most impressive I've seen live is Pepe Romero. HIs playing is as technically proficient as any other player, but for me, he puts more soul into his interpretation than any other.Even in his 70's his playing is second-to-none. Of-course, your choice of music and musicians is always a personal one., so we all have our own list of the GOATs.

    I would include Ida Presti in any list of top players of 1930 to date. I am not alone in this. I was fortunate to hear the top five on your list. I heard Barrueco when he was 15 and studying with another virtuoso in Miami, Juan Mercadal.Year later I "studied" with him, meaning that I performed one piece for him in a tiny "master class" at Belmont Univ. I think Barrueco is one of the top players ever. I spent about a day with Yepes. He was a great person and definitely a virtuoso. he volunteered to give a couple of hour long private lesson in a short time. I learned a lot. However I do not consider him to be one of the greatest of all time.

    • @seankasabuske1986
      @seankasabuske1986 8 месяцев назад +1

      I agree about Ida Presti. I've heard that Segovia once said that there was nothing he could teach her, which he meant in the positive sense that her technique and musicality were complete.

    Pavil Stiedl maybe should get #6, Buty but butt Marcin Dylla is very special, he plays with the speed and accuracy of John Williams, the zest of Bream and the voicing and phrasing of Segovia. Bream said he was cursed with slow hands. I am blessed with ten turtle toes.

    To be honest I wouldn't dare to make a proper list and indeed: Do you have to include the temporarily
    guitar players both male and female? I would have made the list even bigger without giving a ranking.
    Therefore I missed Roland Dyens, Abel Carlevaro and Augustin Barrios and by going outside the
    boundaries I made, I certainly would not forget Celil Refik Kaya who brought technique together with
    musicality to another level. But you're right in a sense that every next generation will have their profits
    from what pioniers of the last century already did on their instruments.

    奥古斯汀巴里奥斯曼哥雷是我心中的吉他之神,也是我心中古典吉他创作的天花板,可惜赛戈维亚看不起他,当然我也就不喜欢赛戈维亚了,老赛虽然改编了不少古典名曲,但我更喜欢泰雷伽的改编,它会将吉他的特点发挥的淋漓尽致!佩佩罗梅罗的演奏的作品从录音质量到演奏水准是我心中的第一,约翰威廉姆斯现场的水准还是打了点折扣的,可能是现在的录音技术好了,当代的很多吉他演奏者水准都挺高的!但也仅限几首作品而已,综合实力和作品演绎方面还得是大师级的!

      塞戈维亚并不鄙视巴里奥斯·曼戈雷,但他一生都在追逐非吉他作曲家,如坦斯曼和卡特诺沃·特德斯科、庞塞和维拉·洛博斯,以说服他们为吉他作曲。 塞戈维亚通过扩大吉他曲目并给我们所有吉他手一份伟大的礼物来实现他的梦想

    Los dos más grandes guitarristas que ha visto el mundo, por mucho, son Julian Bream y John Williams.
    Después de ellos hay muchos excelentes guitarristas.
    Segovia fue importante por haber inspirado a varios compositores a escribir para la guitarra y por consiguiente tuvo el gran mérito de hacer crecer la guitarra como instrumento de concierto, pero como intérprete, aunque brilló en su tiempo, hay varias decenas de guitarristas que lo superan. No debemos confundirnos.
