Exactly, what I like about Toyota is they listen to the mass instead of doing what they want. Gazoo Racing meanwhile are all around the motorsport world winning races & title. Actually l, F1 is the only World Championship they aren't involved with. In case they decided to join the future. I'm sure it would create a huge impact that would make Toyota fans glad. You forgot the first GR car to enter europe, Yaris GRMN 2018. I had one it was limited edition of 400 made for europe and 200 for Japan. It failed to really push the GR brand in europe, but it is an absolute blast to drive. Many many modifications from normal yaris like: wheel and steering system from GT86, lotus elise 1.8 supercharged engine with 212hp, modified suspension, totaly reworked exhaust, forged BBS racing rims, bucket seats and so on...
Nice history on what GR represents, didn't know what it stood for B4 this. The GT ONE from the original Gran Turismo was my go-to back in the day. Have an 05 Srt4 but like the GR they just sent us in the US.
Brilliant Video as always by ideal. Toyota is great. The Supra move was questionable but became a hit. Also, I got surprised seeing a GR Rav4. I think toyota is about to make the GR letters as great as the Audi RS, Merc's AMG and the best, BMW M.
Toyota’s GR badge is what the BMW M badge used to stand for, fun cars for enthusiasts. Hopefully they can keep this up and not do anything silly like slapping it on all their models with just visual upgrades and no performance ones just for sales. I do love this last hurrah Toyota is giving us enthusiasts. I really need to find a way to get myself a GR Yaris.👌
Just picked up my manual supra today, absolutely love it. While my gt86 has 600rkw and scarws the shit out of me, the supra just feels like a fun reliable quick car. Dad picked up the gr landcruiser today, and my work bought me the new gr hilux delivery mid October. I love the gr line up

The founder of Toyota, whose family name is Toyoda, made a deliberate decision to change the company's name to Toyota. There are several reasons attributed to this name change: Voiceless Consonants: In Japanese, the letter "D" in "Toyoda" is a voiceless consonant, which may not have been as appealing. To create a more pleasing and balanced sound, the decision was made to replace the "D" with a voiced consonant "T," resulting in the name Toyota. Jikaku and Good Luck: Another reason for the change lies in the practice of counting strokes in Kanji and Katakana characters, known as Jikaku. The number of strokes can determine good and bad luck. The name "Toyota" has 8 strokes, while "Toyoda" has 10. The number 8 is associated with good luck and fortune in Japanese culture, so the change to Toyota was seen as a favorable adjustment for luck and prosperity. International Appeal: Some sources suggest that the change was made to appeal to international audiences and improve the name's acceptability on a global scale. Streamlined Design: Toyota's official website mentions that the name Toyota in Japanese lettering is considered more streamlined and visually appealing than the name Toyoda
Dont forget the want to release a EV Hybrid LFA in 2024 called the LFR with a V12 and E combined probably bringing over 10.000 rpm The car Prototype can be driven in Gran Turismo 7 called Lexus VGT
Toyota was and still is the automotive giant. Not sure what this guy is talking about. The game changer is when they introduce solid state batteries in their hybrids, possibly in the next couple of years. A reliable hybrid with 1000+kms range that doesn't weigh 2+ tons? yes please!
I genuinely don't get the point of a manual for electric motors. It seems counter-intuitive at best and extra fees at worst when something inevitably breaks. Though perhaps that is the genius of it and I just don't grasp it.
What benefit is there of adding a box of cogs to an EV? Surely all you're doing is adding weight, complexity, transmission loss and extra failure points. Why would anyone want that when you don't need it? I get the desire to have a manual when you have to have gears of some kind. But in this case, it feels like other than top speed, theres not really any need to have any gears at all. Directly driven wheel's is just "better"
I just cant. Every toyota dealership has tried way overpricing the living hell out of their cars. The new supra is literally just a BMW, so i personally cant say the supra pumps up toyotas name at all regardless of a few tweaks they decided to do. Its literally takings someone elses success and riding on it. Just like the 86, which aside from the injection system and transmission which are both weak points when trying to boost the car, its really scummy that toyota has decided to split from subaru and do their own thing by pretty much stealing subarus work and using the toyota name and the consumers lack of knowledge to sell it as their own. Toyota is failing us and its depressing that this video has been made. Yet again, the markets are skewed by people being given money to give part of a story instead of creating content for the true enthusiasts who want to support companies that actually want to do the work. Toyota made a name on both reliability in the past, and their in house over engineering of certain engines like the 2JZ. This just seems like another company who has decided to run their company based on how much they make, and not what they provide to the car community in the long run. The current toyota is an insult to the toyota of the past.
I cant see toyota doing the business.. maybe to some toyota fans this is gonana save japanese sports cars but.. Honda is failing, mitsubishi is crap, subaru is suffering, mazda is somewhat ok but is crippled. Toyota is alive today because of their suvs trucks and old ppl cars. Mustangs and camaros are the way to go.
