@Rick and Morty I grew up in the tri state & still here & so it's the norm to grow up with ones that have all different types of hair & features so never a question or shock for hair to grow or anything surprising for hair growth. Except for 1. Remember when1st saw her (now a good friend)& she stood out. Over 6 ft & stunning like Hollywood kinda of beauty, feminine & built thick& most feel intimidated cause it's like sitting next to Iman or Angelina Jolie. Well, turned out, she was a he. And her hair is nice but on occasion wears wigs & ext & what's the shocker is that no male pattern baldness nor typical male hairline nor anything remotely male & she is about 40 so for alot of us, things begin to change for all males/females at middle age but not her. So unless knew backstory, would of never knew she was a he.

And yes, heard stories about the south so I completely respect your take on things. For me, early 80's was when my social life emerged and know it's going to sound goofy but the breaking dancing days/music/style were in & would never think music or dance would make such an impact but it did. Friends from the South Bronx brought it to all surrounding areas& it was like every one was into it. And this when everyone from all different backgrounds hung out and dating each other, formed bonds and been like that ever since as it's a melting pot in this area.
@Rick and Morty I love FL too but only during winter to visit. FL's summer is way too hot .I love the 4 seasons. And yes, it seems it's different over here. Seen some friends (all different) or acqaintances have some trouble lives but for the others now, at my age, although we all happy for each other, at times, grass always greener. The ones that really were driven and hard working, well one is an HR Director and another that her husband now in DC with a high position for national security. Ones with Master's degree or business owners or ones that settled down with a good person, although not wealthy, successful with family & other humanitarian things. So from partying kids/teenagers to now adults doing all different type of lifestyles. It's now the typical fleeting covert wishing we could do what the other are doing kind of feeling which is the norm for the world. And we all are different races, financial beginnings and cultures but we concentrate more on who we are vs the type of differences that plague other areas & it should be like that all over.

My mom was doing this type of press and curl back in Jamaica in her 20 's with her own business .Its nice to see today's modern beautician doing this but my mom was doing this since the sixties in Jamaica and I would like to say thank you mom you was a big innovator because i still remember when you did my press and curl , stangers would come up to me and pull my hair wondering and asking if my hair real. You were so gifted and before ur time .

I was 34 and my hair just wouldn't grow anymore I had to keep a short Bob because the front and crown of my head just would not grow anymore! But now I'm 41 and my hair is down my back it's shinny and pretty too. I drink green juices also. Our hair doesn't stop growing because of age. That's just something they tell us. We are not properly hydrated is why😁😉

I would so hop on a plane and fly to Georgia for this amazing stylist to do my hair. She trimmed it perfectly. Didn’t trim it while wet and cut off too much. Stretched it on the rollers and then pressed it and the cut it when it was straight. Respect to this fabulous stylist.
I remember the comb being made of solid iron, had to put the comb in FIRE to relax the hair. I suppose this is how it's done today. It's real hair and looks alot better than a weave.

The end result is lovely too, but I love a nice bouncy curl! (Also.. my arms hurt watching this, good job stylist, I’d have given up after the first 5 minutes!)
