What is the Rome Life ? And What does it mean to be apart of it?
Rome Life is something I started during my Sophomore year of high school (one of the worst times in my life) it started off as me documenting my journey to recovery from my shoulder surgery but eventually it turned into a platform that I could use to encourage myself as well as others to chase our dreams.
Rome Life isn't just a saying it's a way of life and for the people who want to be apart of it have to realize that. Rome wasn't built in a day it took a lot of handwork time and most importantly patience. So you can't expect your dreams to be any different

It wasn't just that Michael bought the Beatles song catalog, but that he went sold them in to commercials, which Paul never wanted done.
Both songs are fantastic. Definitely react to them. "The girl is mine" and "say say say"
There is also another Tune which Paul wrote specifically for Michael but MJ turned it down at first. Paul went on to sing it himself, including it on his "London town' album --- Michael later went on to record a version himself --- you should check out both. The song title is "GIRLFRIEND".
@@Hernal03 the other song they did together is called “The Man”
Say say say is awful
@@veronicajean3612 in your dreams maybe lol.
As much as we may have liked Michael's music and admired his talent, many of us lost all respect for Michael over his business dealings with Paul over the Northern Songs deal. Michael was a complete asshole over this, and to this day, Paul Mccartney has never been made whole.
The Beatles never sold out to advertisers, those who owned the rights to the songs like Michael Jackson did, and that was reprehensible.
The closest they cam was when Lennon offered "Across the Universe" to Greenpeace to use in their campaigns - and the stupid fools turned him down
Y’all stupid thinking selling these songs to advertisers is a bad thing. There are morons today that would know absolutely NOTHING about the Beatles if it were not for commercial usage of tracks.
I’d say a major reason the youth know about the classics are through GTA video games and such…
@@gaffle-411 today it is accepted to sell your music to ads, but the history of Rock n' roll was rebellious and by commercializing it, many fans are rubbed the wrong way
I think Jackson's famous accident where his hair caught fire happened while he was filming a Pepsi commercial... so it wasn't just the people who owned his songs... it was him.. which is fine if he wants to do that... the Beatles didn't want to do that
Michael Jackson let Nike shoes do a commercial with John's song Revolution. Paul said that when John wrote the song Revolution he didn't think he was writing about shoes.
Paul finally got back the rights to the Northern Songs catalog in 2018.
Michael showed Paul ZERO respect when he bought Paul's music.
lmao you should know the real stories before you judge bro 😭
@@clairestyless The freak pimped out Paul's murdered friend's songs for sneaker commercials and God knows what else, bro.
Black people's music were bought by white executives with ZERO respect. Whatever you think about Michael, Paul had PLENTY of time and tons of money to buy his catalogue back after he went solo. Paul still got his royalties from being in the biggest selling music act of all time. There is no excuse for Paul to complain about a man being smart with his money.
@@dmattox7536 EXACTLY. ANYWAYS, THRILLER IS STILL THE BIGGEST SELLING ALBUM OF ALL TIME
@@dmattox7536 Not a single person whose catalogue was bought by Paul ever complained about it cause he treated them with respect. Paul didn’t buy the catalogue cause if he did it alone, the public would have hated him, just like when he tried to write his name first in the songs he wrote. He tried to convince Yoko of buying them together but she wanted it cheaper. He was blocked, if he had bought it people would hate him and if he didn’t, he would lost the catalogue. While he was trying to figure out what to do, that shitty “friend” went and bought it while knowing all what Paul was facing. Paul was stabbed in the back by that fkn pedo.
Love when people learn music history!
Paul McCartney and Michael Jackson have a couple of hits together. The Girl is Mine a #2 hit and the first single released from Thriller and a year later they had a tremendously big hit called Say Say Say which spent I believe it was number 1 for 6 weeks.
The Beatles never made commercials with their songs. Nike comes out and uses Revolution and devalues Beatles songs
Oh integrity I forgot that used to be a thing. Its all about selling out now. So sad
To answer your first Question: Yes - the two songs written by Paul McCartney and Michael Jackson are "Say Say Say" which was released on Paul McCartney's album "Pipes of Peace"; and "The Girl is Mine" which was released on Michael Jackson's album "Thriller." And yeah, sure you should react to them. I mean, whether you like them or not, you should at least listen to them and know they exist.
To answer your second question: In 1987 Nike used the Beatles song, "Revolution" in a commercial. The surviving Beatles (John was murdered in 1980) did not like their song being used for a commercial - that went against their values. And the Beatles sued Nike - but there was controversy because Michael Jackson owned the publishing rights. Even though the Beatles wrote the song, Michael Jackson owned the song.
There is another song on the album Pipes of Peace called The Man, cowritten with Jackson.
@@garylee3685 didn't know that. Thanks
Check out Say Say Say. You may like it.
The second greatest video of all time, right below Thriller, is the Michael Jackson/Paul McCartney Say Say Say video.
Not true it’s Smooth Criminal
They got along very well and collaborated on two hit songs. During this time Paul gave Michael some advice. He told him the real money is in song publishing and owning the song rights. Paul and John had lost the rights to their own songs earlier because they were young and dumb at the time and got ripped off. Later, when their songs came back on the market, MJ outbid Paul and made a fortune licensing the songs to advertisers. Paul finally bought the rights back in 2018 after MJ’s estate sold them to someone else.
Say Say Say, The Girl Is Mine, and The Man are the 3 they did together. The first 2 were very big hits.
Yes the songs came out....The Girl is Mine and Say, Say, Say.
Say Say Say has a fun little video too.
Bought the catalog, pimped it out the highest bidder to sell sneakers or whoever would pay...not Michael's finest hour.
Michael just ended up being another in line to give Paul the shaft in terms of his ability to his own music. Friends don't do that. Yes, it was "business" but friends still don't do that. Paul is a class act. He didn't even place his bid for the songs without bringing Yoko into the deal. Sadly, they were outbid by Michael. The good news is that Paul is now more business savvy and doing quite well.
They were for sale weather Paul liked it or not MJ was buying it cause he was a big fan plus the part you’re not mentioning is MJ was willing to sell it back to Paul but of course he was being a crybaby about it💯
@@Milkers777 Cite your source that shows how MJ was offering to sell the songs back to Paul. The songs were unethically taken from Paul in the first place and then MJ was a bad friend to literally outbid when he knew Paul was bidding. Who does this? Not a friend. I'm glad that Paul is finally able to get them back now.
@@TodayImMaking Still waiting to hear that source!
As for "MJ was buying it cause he was a big fan..." I can't imagine any true fan behaving in that way towards the Beatles, or any artist, even if there was an easy buck to be made out of them. Michael just joined the line of others extracting profit from the GOAT band, while contributing nothing. And then he debased the the music itself, allowing John's song Revolution to be commercialised for profit for some f-ing shoe firm, knowing it was completely against its creators wishes, yet completely unapologetic, and seemingly, uncaring.
I don't know what his true motivation was, but whatever it was it clearly had nothing to do with love or respect for the people who created the music he supposedly loved.
@@papercup2517 OK, but you're replying to the wrong person. Cheers.
@@TodayImMaking My apolgies, ethora, for the confusion. I was meaning to sort of continue the conversation, after backing up your (still unfulfilled) request for evidence/a source. I didn't mean it sound as if I was directing my disagreement at you... :-)
No no it wasn't a huge hatred thing, that's false. - And YES you should definitely react to their song : "Say say say" It was a good tune.
Eh, it’s fairly good, but I mean … he hasn’t even heard things like All You Need Is Love and Tomorrow Never Knows - or Paul solo classics like Maybe I’m Amazed or Live and Let Die. With limited time, he shouldn’t be doing deep cuts like Say, Say, Say.
Yes well this is in direct response to him asking specifically, 'do you think I ought to react to a "McCartney / Jackson " song & or video. Sooo that was my opinion on that. But yes there are Of Course tons! of Paul's / Beatles to do as well.
I’m on Paul’s side. The writer should make the decisions.
I’m not MJ had the right to buy the music it was on sale💪🏽👑💯
@Brad What R U Gonna Do Yoko Ono's opinion doesn't matter, she didn't write any of the beatles's songs. Paul did and if John was alive he'd probably be more angry than Paul about this whole thing. Paul wanted to buy his own music back, but Michael outbided him and bought it instead, on a business level there is nothing wrong with this but on a personal level, that was kind of a dick move since they were both friends.
I’m not upset about MJ buying the songs. I’m upset what he did with them after he got them. He sold them to Sony.
@@kellywann3794 Not True At all he didn’t sell them to Sony Sony owned them after his death dummy!
I’m fine. How are are you? You sound like a such a nice person 😂
The fued began because Michael outbid him on the Beatles song catalog.
The "Feud", actually progressed from bad to worse --- Paul was 'DISAPPOINTED' in Michael when he was outbid (due to the fact that Paul had made it clear 'he' was going after ownership of Beatle song rights --- not to mention they were supposedly friends). It moved to outright 'DISRESPECT' when Michael began allowing the Beatle tunes be used in commercials, which is something all previous owners of the rights had never allowed --- this is when Paul lost respect for Michael both as a friend and human being. I know money is God in some peoples eyes and that they would do anything for it --- perhaps Michael was just trying to make an extra buck --- after all, he probably could not have survived solely on the royalties and commercials received from his own materials (inject 'sarcasm' here).
@Oworks of course there was a bid, Paul clearly said that Yoko talked him into low-balling the bid, and that was certainly Paul’s fault for listening to yoko.
Say Say Say
Kind of a jerk move for Michael to buy them when he knew Paul was trying to. Michael had so much power and money and fame in that moment. I loved Michael but that made me lose a lot of respect for him as a human. He never needed to take the life's work of Paul and John and sell it to the highest bidder. But he did.
The fact that Paul thought Michael was joking is revealing and shows Paul's integrity. He didn't think it was serious, because he wouldn't do that.
It was on sale how is it a jerk move not MJ’s fault at all💪🏽👑✨💯
@@Milkers777 , the man giving you advice. The friend. The one trying to get the rights back on his music is trying to get enough money and invest with the widow and fatherless children of his writing partner and you buy it and profit? Yep. Major dick move. It's business, but it lacks human courtesy and compassion and shows who Michael was in my opinion. Selling the song Revolution to Nike? Please. That's gross.
@@aprilfraze8764 it’s not a dick move after he told him twice he was gonna purchase the catalog and MJ even offered to split it 50/50 with Paul and he declined two different opportunities presented itself in front of Paul and yet he didn’t jump the gun so MJ outsmarted him and bought it call it what you want but at the end of the day the music industry is a business you can sell or buy your own properties it goes both ways this is far from a dick move it’s a BUSINESS MOVE!
I agree it gets on my last nerve when I hear a song that I love on commercials.
I can understand your perspective; however, I have rediscovered and discovered some great songs because of commercials! It’s a great way to bring older music back for the younger generations.
@@BRunk84
I disagree takes the joy out of the song for me has it reminds you of the product been sold not the great lyrics and sound you first remembered.
Yes react to “say say say” please
All the older artist from the 50's, 60's and 70's felt the songs were special or precious, and using songs in any type of advertisement, was like prostitution or devaluing the artist's work.
Say say say and the girl is mine both great hits.
MJ and Paul has a MASSIVE U.S. no.1 hit with "Say say say" It sold millions in 1983.
In addition to the songs they collaborated on, McCartney also wrote a song, “Girlfriend,” which Jackson covered on Off the Wall. McCartney also recorded it for his album London Town. McCartney sings the song in falsetto, since it was written for Jackson’s higher voice.
It's kind of interesting how these days popular music and advertising goes hand in hand. Wasn't always that way....I think the turning point came in 1987 when Michelob beer launched its: "the night belongs to Michelob" campaign where they actively solicited famous artist to write songs with lyrics that included the word "night" to be used in the commercials. The most famous being Eric Clapton's "After Midnight"
The Girl Is Mine and Say, Say, Say were both #1 hits for Paul McCartney and Michael Jackson in the USA.
MJ and Paul made some great records together- - Say, Say, Say and The Girl is Mine. Definitely react- the video is Say, Say, Say. The other record is The Girl Is Mine.
It was not just the Beatles that felt that way. All the old school rockers had that feeling about their music. Then along came Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston and the 80s me, me, me attitude.
Neil Young wrote a song and filmed a video on the subject entitled 'This Note's For You'
ruclips.net/video/KSSvzCNBvlQ/видео.html
The opening lines of the song:
Aint singing for Pepsi
Aint singing for Coke.
Aint singing for no one
makes me look like a joke.
He bought his music
Rightfully So...
one of the songs is in Thriller, MJ
They made two big hits together: "Say, Say, Say" from Paul's PIPES OF PEACE album, and "The Girl Is Mine" from Michael's THRILLER. Both were pretty big hits in the early 80s.
Michael sold Revolution to Nike. He used Paul's creativity for profit and never had any qualms about it. I believe that the music is more important to Paul than the money, while Michael saw the music as a way to make money, which he perceived gave him power and superiority.
Really loved this reaction, and as I said below, the title is misleading: they drifted apart and, as you can see at the end, Paul calls him a lovely guy, super talented and that "we miss him". If that's a "feud" between two great, one-of-a-kind talents, I'll take it.
You should definitely react to the Say Say Say music video and to The girl is mine
Definitely react to there songs man
One of the songs they did is on Thriller bruh
There is a Paul Mccartney song called Riding to Vanity Fair that I believe is about Michael Jackson.
The man is a great song by them!!
The Lennon/McCartney songs are now estimated to be worth over 3 billion dollars
I totally believe McCartney's claim about giving advice about making videos because the first single for "Thriller" was "The Girl Is Mine" (the duet with Paul) which had no video. The next single DID have a video....."Billie Jean". /I know this is an old video, but the story actually begins earlier: Paul wrote "Girlfriend" for Michael, which appeared on "Off The Wall". I would never call this a "feud" - Michael, as far as I know, never talked about it. But they had a "falling out". And I don't think McCartney understands that Michael - understandably so - felt that people like Elvis and The Beatles eclipsed the black talents that started it all. He championed Otis Blackwell many times in interviews, for instance, a great early r&r songwriter who died broke, despite the many hits he wrote. So it might have been his subtle way of shafting "whitey", and in a way, who can blame him. And I say this as a 100% Beatles fanatic, and a guy who likes Michael, but doesn't "collect" him or read every book about him. So when you look at it in THOSE terms: he marries Elvis' daughter, and owns the Beatles catalog....Michael called him up and said "Let's make some hits." The entire "friendship" was based on ambition. Anyways, all's well that ends well: Paul now has control over his catalog, and he's still the richest guy in rock, a billionaire. And for those who are angry at Michael, well.....he was forced to sell the Beatles catalog to Sony and - in the end - went the way of Elvis: a body full of prescription pills.
React to Say Say Say by Michael Jackson and Paul McCartney
As I understand it, he told Michael that music publishing was a good way to make money and he said he was going to buy Paul's songs--- and he did so Paul didn't like it and complained but Michael brushed it off.
Michael Jackson made money on the Beatles song revolution in a Nike commercial.
At least now Paul finally has control over the songs in which The US Copyright Act 1967 allowed song writers to reclaim the rights to their songs after 56 years. Strangely enough this did not apply in Britain where the Beatles are from however Paul came to an agreement with Sony music who by that stage had the rights to the songs.
The girl is mine and say say say did come out and they were both great recommend reaction
They got along great even made a couple of hit songs together until Michael stabbed him in the back. The songs were Say Say Say and Ebony and Ivory.

M.J.,
Did not disrespect Paul at all
Paul said himself, that he had an opportunity first (before M.J. even knew that the catalog was for sale), to purchased the catalog, the fact he felt like the price was to much, and chose not to purchase it.
Michael did purchase it, yes he did, but, what Paul is not telling is the fact that Yoko gave Michael her okay, before he made the deal. She would rather him purchase, since Paul did not/or could not.
I hate people that tell a story, but leave out certain facts, that changes, the dynamics of the whole story. Also, what Paul is leaving out is (when My.J. purchase the catalog, he Gave Paul's daughter the song that she loved the most) he ironically left out these details.😮!
I wonder why. Hum, could it to get the exact response that some people left in the comments!¡!!!¡!!!?¿
Now you see

they actually made 3 songs together, The Girl Is Mine which is the Thriller album, Say Say Say and The Man both are on the McCartney album Pipes Of Peace.
Michael had the right to buy the songs if he wanted to, but to pimp them out to big companies for shitty commercials was a bad move, The Beatles was never about that.
Jim Morrisson beat a man to death when he suggest Light My Fire be used for a commercial. No, he didn't I made that up. There is a reason The Doors have that special aura...they didn't sell out...and that was mostly all Jim.
It all started when Paul asked Michael what he and Walmart had in common. Michael and Walmart both have little boys pants half off.
Definitely not true your ignorance is showing MJ outsmarted Paul plus the catalog was on sale PERIOD!🤡🤡🤡🤡
One of the reasons Paul McCartney started doing concerts was to earn enough money to get the songs back. (Get back, baby.) Paul eventually beat MJ/Sony in court, which is a super short version. Lennon’s half, through a deal Yoko cut with Sony, will be available to his family 70 years after his death, ie, 2050. She will still get rights to the music so a sweet deal but maybe not so honorable.
in fact they recorded 2 songs for the " pipes of peace " album ..... say say say and the man ...... and they record " the girl is mine " for the thriller album . i recommanded you to listen" the man" much better than say sa say
True friends don't betray their friends. Jackson showed his real colours when he bought the Beatles publishing rights and licensed them out for profit. He knew full well Paul's intention on owning his own work and went behind his back. Paul, to his credit, was trying to include Yoko in the deal because he respected John's memory and their friendship. Paul was John's true friend. Jackson was not. Paul has my respect. Jackson never will.
You don't treat friends that way

It all changed in the 80's with MTV and the beginning of the "SELF" / "ENTITLEMENT" generation. Generation "X" and all morals and values in all aspects of society have been exponentially headed downhill. Nothing is Sacred anymore. Most Song's/Music for the past 40 years have been nothing but CRAP!

Paul was blind sided by a greedy over the hill formerly the most talented singer of fantastic Quincy Jones music. Paul is being way more diplomatic and polite than M J deserves. He pay the lawyers defending him against the pedophile charges. Michael was the most listened to singer in the 80's & 90's. But he did shop at WalmaRT, HEhe heard they had boy's pants HALF OFF
In terms of music Jackson never came close to Beatles and that what matters. Jackson could sell Paul's music but he himself never produced good songs with great memorable melodies. Thriller is very overrated and owns mostly to music video that was hyped by MTV back in the day and musically it's quite bland - just a bassline and poor melodically. Whole album is overrated. Jackson music is product of vain plastic overrated in terms of success 1980s. I can hardly remember any songs from Jackson catalog that have memorable great melody. As a songwiriter he wasnt good. Heck, it's others who wrote songs for him. and it was mostly very cynically tailored stuff to hit in charts. Very stereotypical 1980s same-y production et cet.
Michael is more then Thriller. He has great songs with great melodies , He wrote beautiful songs with deep message like Heal the world , Earth song , We are the world , What more can I give , Will you be there ... And Michael was more then singer or songwriter , he was a performer , dancer , showman and humanitarian . He made great videos , great concerts , nobody ever come close to him .
You saying that Michael Jackson never had good music and thriller is overrated that means you are tripping you don't know anything about the King go do some research you will see while he is the greatest
