Wow! Thank you, amazing. Your creative and interactive way of making "steps" come to life is a gift. Thanks so much for your contribution! So helpful-much appreciated!
Thank you for this video. The creator of IFS has put a lot of thought and experimenting into the right question to ask to see if the client is blended, and to support unblending. At first, it was 'What do you feel about that part?' and now, for many years, he is teaching it as 'How do you feel towards this part?' This takes clients more into their feelings and less into their heads. I'm sharing this as you're demostrating it as 'What do you feel towards that part?' which is similar, yet the difference is important. Just listened to a fantastic Sounds True interview with Dick and Elizabeth Gilbert where he emphasises the importance of sticking to this phrasing.
Thank you for this. You have a talent and skill for breaking down concepts and illustrating them clearly so I could finally get the rhythm of this approach!
Amazing video. It put all the IFS pieces together for me in a way I could understand and can use. I highly recommend Lucas' work to anyone on the healing journey.
Lucas! WOW. I can't express how much I appreciate you sharing your knowledge. Firstly, you do such a wonderful job distilling the concepts into easy to understand language and visual aids. Secondly, your "acting" as the client, therapist and parts was very helpful to illustrate what this looks like in practice. You have a strength for teaching and boiling things down to basics. And your speaking is excellent. I'm impressed and grateful for your work. I'm looking forward to watching the playlist and exploring more of what you offer!
Lucas, these videos are great, I am new to IFS as a modality of psychotherapy and really believe this helps get clients lasting healing and change. I'm struggling with using the word "exile" with the client - do you have other suggestions for what can be used to describe that part (my instinct is to just use the word part)
Dear Lucas, thank u so much for the clarity of your work. I am on your channel for days now and I watched all the process. This is a gift. I have a question. As a therapist do you use this visual mapping and toys (I mean, in real) ? It could be useful for a client to chose his own toys to ilustrate his own "internal family system", exactly as u did in your demo What s your opinion ? Thank u by advance and take care bro :)
Often most helpful to do exile work with an experienced level 2 or 3 ifs institute trained (or equivalent) therapist. Even Richard Schwartz struggles to do this work alone and needs the support of a therapist.
