I love this videovand sport i play squash ti and Im 9 years old i can beet my dad and he as being playing squash way way longer than me i have even playing for about 7 minths altogether
It boils down to three main rules. Each shot, you must: 1. Hit the ball to the front wall without it hitting the floor 2. Hit the ball before it bounces on the floor twice 3. Stay out of the other player's way, and allow them to play their shot safely If you don't do those three, the other person wins the point.
The normal rules apply, if you lose the rally, you lose the point. However, nowadays they try to stop the rally as soon as they can if a player has dived or there's an unusual amount of sweat on the floor. Typically when the rally has returned to a neutral position. If that happens, they play a let ball.
Nah that’s a stroke meaning that the one blocking the player losses the point, and also there’s lets we’re it is not intentional or if they just stop the point for safety in that case the point repeats (sorry for my poor English)
Nope, if you block the other person from getting to the ball it's either a "let" (you replay the point) or a "stroke" (you lose the point) depending on how bad the interference is.
Well sorta, in the same way that Badminton is just tennis with a high net. There's some similarities (eg. the two bounces, hitting it to the front wall on the full), but there's plenty of differences (eg. you're not allowed to interfere with the other person's shot, different technique due to how the walls affect the game, etc.). It's a very different game to Tennis but there's certainly some similarity.
So if you dive all over the court and put sweat patches everywhere then deliberately hit the ball to force your opponent to run over the sweat which leads to them slipping, that's just good tactics? (IF someone did that)
Yeah I was curious too how it relates to tennis in terms of skill and cardio. Apparently it’s a lot more physically demanding than tennis but tennis takes a lot more strategy than it. I was looking it up because I play tennis Edit: by strategy I mean like you can’t pick up tennis nearly as easy as squash because it has a lot more skills and stuff to it, assuming you’re in good enough shape for either.
@@zachyepez8279 Agreed. The serve alone in tennis, it would take you forever to develop a strong game in that department. I imagine squash is more of a high-intensity cardio sport whereas tennis may demand stamina more than it does explosiveness.
You say that as if it's an actual valid point, and not just brainlessly ignoring every complex factor of the sport. If we're going with that same logic, then here's a list of everybody's favourite sports: . Kick the ball into the goal (soccer) . Kick the ball into the goal (but with a stick) (hockey) . Kick the ball into the goal (but the goal is higher) (AFL) . Run the ball into the goal (rugby) . Throw the ball into the goal (handball) and of course, we can't forget: . Hit the ball back and forth (Tennis) Ignorant.

be like me. i'm supposed to study but i decided to watch a squash video which i searched it myself, despite not playing squash ever in my life.
One of my favourites has to be Shabana's dive against Gaultier at 2-2 in the 5th game of the final of the world series finals 2011.
Thanks Josh, we’ll be sure to dig that out for next time
As spectator, in my personal opinion, the best dive ever is the one in ToC 2004 White v Nicol

Yes!! Shabana's diving back wall boast against Matthew in 2010 world series as well .

The only one where there's any suspense whatsoever about who's going to dive is Rodriguez vs Salazar :)

What a horrendous reaction to those 4 dives.
Whats the ruling on slipping because of sweat?
Thanks!

I dont know much about this game but what happen when one player block the other, means is it fair to block someone
Nah that’s a stroke meaning that the one blocking the player losses the point, and also there’s lets we’re it is not intentional or if they just stop the point for safety in that case the point repeats (sorry for my poor English)
If you block the other person or make it unsafe for them to play their shot, they win the point.
idk but can they block the way at the ball ?
Nope, if you block the other person from getting to the ball it's either a "let" (you replay the point) or a "stroke" (you lose the point) depending on how bad the interference is.
Is this like half court enclosed tennis?

Perhaps more cardio than tennis . Depends on the level. Tennis has longer non_play time between points.
