I have this camper. It heats well down to the high20s. But anything over 92 it struggles to cool. The unit that comes mounted does well if you close off the bathroom and bedroom but then when you're ready to go to bed you have to sweat until you cool off to sleep.
Love the input from real owners. TY so much. May I ask what area of the country you're in? I'm wondering how regional humidity may be playing into this
This man works very hard for all budgets, from real expensive to budget friendly, and knows his way around all RVS,WE have found no problems with any of. Josh's reviews, just straight out honesty to us all!!!!!
I see this has a theater seat at the back instead of a theater seat replacing the dinette. Is the tri-fold sofa still available for along the back wall, and is the theater seat still available as a dinette replacement? That’s the layout I’d want. Lounging for me and the Mrs., then a sleeping space for the older kids if they happen to tag along.
Behind the fridge seems like a great spot for a rechargeable light vac (especially with a telescoping handle) or a pocket with some hooks for umbrellas and a couple rain jackets We never think about rain gear until dark grumbling clouds roll in. It would be great to go, wait, "I know where our rain gear is! It has it's own oddly shaped 3" wide, 3' long 3' deep spot behind the fridge."" .
😢 You do love me Uncle Josh! Thanks for doing this one. We bought the '22 model in July of '21 and love it! Don't like the set up in this one. We have the 3 recliner theatre sofa (they call it a dinette) in the slide and a trifold sofa across the back which is how I see most of them now. We did not want a dinette, not fluffy friendly & even though you get a table you can use we just bought two tray tables and it works fine. Also, dinettes create terrible entertainment center situations but the swing out tv works great for the seats along the back. Love the bathroom & if you don't want someone staring while you grunt and wipe shut the door just like you do in any other bathroom! 😅 Love the 12 volt fridge. Turn it on after I hook up & by the time I get there it's cold. '22 model has no hanging on either side of bed but does have space for about 10 items in closet that backs up to the shower. Polo shirts, t shirts, shorts, undies, socks, a hoody and rain jacket. I'm camping, not going to a formal, do not really need hanging space.😃 Love this camper and it's layout. Appreciate you doing this video. Can stop pestering you now! 😁
@@JoshtheRVNerd What we have in the slide is a 3 seat reclining sofa instead of the dinette like the model you were in and GD does or did anyway, refer to that as a theatre dinette. Thank you again for doing this model. Appreciate hearing your take on our choice.
Welcome! Also, I think the plaid on the dinette cushions softens the dark brown hue of the RV. Glad they lightened things up a bit for next year. Open storage above the bed...I thought the same as you, but we have that in our Springdale, and I've grown fond of the versatility and ease of access. Thank you Josh!
This seems so roomy. The sofa having side tables is such a much needed thing, I need somewhere to put things down lol. I'd more than likely end up with a trifold sofa. I really like the colour scheme in this, as I love bright colours, and this decor is strong enough to take the colourful accents. The booth dinette is great because it's a U dinette, more comfy and makes a longer spare bed. I love that they've put storage and prep space higher up the list for the kitchen. I'm with you on the flip-up next to the sink. Why don't they just set the fridge further back? I'd definitely want the space behind the fridge to have some storage. The walk thru bathroom at least gives you a private bedroom. I'm a big fan of the type of shower door they're using here. It's great that the bed has a bit of a shelf next to it. I'd prefer the overhead cabinet to have a strutted door. A really picky comment - I hate that the underside of the bed platform looks so unfinished and of cheap material. How hard would it be to make it look a little more classy in a rig that's costing you $1000's. Even in the campers that cost you mega bucks, they show the underside of the bed platform and it just looks cheap and flimsy.
Very similar to my 23LDE in layout but this model is going backwards in a few areas. There is no cubby on each side of the bed which I personally love. Carpet in slide is big negative and so is the road mode cutoff. Still, it's a Grand Design and that means quality.
I have been following you for awhile now . I needed my grand design imagine’s roof repaired due to heavy snow and bish in salt lake was the only place that could handle it . They did a great job. After watching your brand go play and I knew your warning that you get what you see. Due to disabilities my wife and I need recliners. I don’t need a couch that makes into a bed. Jayco, who makes these really need to consider options . Recliners are very popular but I had to walk from the deal. I have mentioned other issues when you did the introduction to the new brand, but if a customer wants to order one with options the should be able to. I guess time will tell
Man TY for sharing this! I'm going to get it directed to our team Have you left them a review yet for the work they did? I'm sure they'd appreciate it at g.page/r/CUU2SzxfYH8uEAg/review
I have the 2022 version of this. The thing I like about mine is the theater seating / sofa is directly across from the TV. The back end has a jackknife sofa. I think that U dinette would have been better put in the back end and sticking with the theater seat across from the TV. I have been in my RV full-time since I purchased it and have not seen anything that I love more. ❤ And yes I am living in Texas in this full time. It is not hard to keep cool for the most part, but I did get a cover to shade the black end where the bedroom is. When it got up over 100°, that room got kind of hot. I also wish they would have put a heat duct running into the storage compartment. During the below freezing weather the cold coming up through the storage bay could be felt all the way through the mattress on the bed.
In my opinion this is a great value trailer. For the space behind the fridge, I’d just move the fridge back. Making the trailer feel bigger and more access during travel. But I’m not the tall person that would smack his head going to the fridge in the slide.
Depending on the room, how about a hanging closet behind the fridge. Is there a travel trailer that allows for a motorcycle carrier to be mounted on the back? I like small toy boxes, but hate the tongue weight being the axles set back to hold the garage weight.
Love the fact that you can option out that neck wrecker dinette for some comfortable theater seating directly across from the entertainment center👍and yes, upgrading a cheap Dollar Store 4” fart fan is definitely possible but no one should ever have to😩
You have a plump round cute face. The layout good for your first time RV owner. Nice to see the bathroom designed gives more room. The bedroom you have space to get out of the bed much easier.
We have a Transcend 321bh and it stays much cooler than our previous Fiberglass Palomino. We live in Tennessee so July and August are pretty sweltering with humidity.
I like a tri-fold sofa where the theater seat is and the theater seat were the dinette is. Believe this one comes with a free floating table with that set up. No carpet for me would be worth the extra cost. Wish the sidewalls were 6'9" and stable steps in main entry door.
A lighter interior would be nice. The carpet, well heck our 2022 Newmar Ventana has carpet in the slides so to me not a big deal. I would want hanging space on either side of the bed and the dual doors are perfect. You know one thing I would like to see is brighter lighter exterior colors. Add some lights blues or silvers and white.
First off, move the theater seat to the dinning location and put a free standing table and chairs whre the seat was. If room is a problem extend the back a few feet. No, put access behind the frig from outside. in fact how about using that location for a generator? Change the skylight in the shower to a xl fan. Great move with the real queen bed. I can live without hanging clothing area but it would be nice if instead of hooks put short rods for haning items. Thin book shelf suport. For me, I would like to up the propane to 30s and increase solar to 400 wts. Nice look on the exterior skin but give me some stone guard or spray liner on the front.
very nice trailer. I am more than okay with the fold up steps. I am a little concerned however about a 12v fridge with only 165w of solar. Off grid camping will be a challenge unless you want to drag a generator around... This rig with a good old two way fridge would suit me just fine though. Decor is bland maybe, but I kind of like it nonetheless. take care.
Yeah I see super conflicting reports on whether or not that solar is enough to hold up and I think the differentiating factor is regional sun coverage Prepped for a portable panel if you'd like to add to it btw. Might be something to stress test in the driveway, then see if you need to expand
We added a second solar panel and 400AH of lithium batteries. I've never had the battery get below 90 percent, although this is in the summer. The 12v fridge is remarkably good at using power.
@@RoadDogMedia yes that sounds like a great set up. 400ah of Lithium lasts a long time, and recharges quickly. With a couple of panels, it sounds like you are very well set up. safe travels and happy camping....
Three things that I would change in this RV. First is the storage above the bed. It needs doors. The second thing is your idea about a small storage area behind the refrigerator. It's a great idea. The third thing is that the awning needs to extend to the front of the camper. I like this one. Transcend made a great couples camper with this one.
We traded in our 2021 Wildwood X-Lite 24RLXL for a 2022 GD Transcend 260RL. Best upgrade we ever did. I think many couples will enjoy this floor plan. Well thought out.
We looked at this one before we bought our Flagstaff but there’s a few minor things we didn’t like. The awning should definitely go past the bedroom door!
A towel hangar I can't reach while standing in the shower is in the wrong spot and I will die on that hill. I'd put a couple drunken octopus on that door to fix this
There are a handful depending on what you’re seeking in an rv there are things like freedom express 257BHS, Jay flight 242bhs, imagine 2400bh, heritage Glen 23bhhl
I wonder why the refrigerator is slid all the way forward with the dead space behind it... maybe because you would hit your head on the top of the slide trying to get into it? Otherwise slide the fridge all the way back and maybe you would have full travel access?
We picked up our 265bh yesterday. This is the same trailer without the bunks and a different rear couch. Im blown away by the openness of the main living area.
We were just at the beach today commenting on some young lady taking a selfie with that same camera technique. I think for it to work you need a strong breeze or a fan to make your hair flutter... Oh wait, that might not work so well. We love you for what's inside, Uncle Josh. By the what's inside your wallet?
@@jimcramer9656 ..... we don't like our company/visitors using bathroom in 'our' personal space ..... how do we say no to inlaws needing to go? ..... We're certainly not everyone & it's a good floor plan for many, maybe most folks. (-;
Not bad at all. But tell me, how bad IS the tv visibility from the recliners? Because I see an advantage, in that you can see the tv while eating, and potentially even while cooking.
I like this trailer, but I would worry about the loaded weight. We live in Colorado with all those mountains and I now drive a 1500 Silverado with a 327 for the power plant. Not sure they would like each other bouncing around in the hills.
Josh not to disrespect this video, just wondered if you ever did any reviews on the Micro Boosts by Forest Rjver, thanks and sorry for the interpretation of this channel.
Buddy so you know I just see a comment as a comment. It doesn’t have to pertain to the video upon which it was left. So no worries 😊 I have not been able to cover any of the xlr series to date though
I love everything about this camper except the fact that the dinette and seating are in the wrong spots. I would buy this tomorrow if they were switched around.
@@JoshtheRVNerd Josh, you are a national treasure. I literally just watched that review of the 25RDS last night and you're 100% right. It truly is the answer to what I didn't like about all the other ones. It's not *perfect* but there's no deal breakers on that one. For example, I'd prefer a queen bed that offered just a little more floor space but that's easy. Thanks for all the informative and entertaining videos!
Nice camper. I prefer the look of the flat Azdell sides compared to the corrugated siding look, however this slimmer looking siding does have a better appearance I believe. But my question is…. Why is it that pretty much every manufacturer who produces these corrugated looking siding sides chooses darkish colors? They look sorta drab. Why not have lighter colors or choose a vinyl wrap with a cool colorful design?
I like the layout on this. With the limited camp side windows, I wish the door window was clear - with a shade, of course. I like your idea of using the area behind the fridge. Depending on the size, I'd keep games and puzzles there. The furniture is dark, but probably hides the dirt better than a lighter color. There seems to be enough light regardless. Could you do a video comparing a stick and tin vs the ..not stick and tin? I've picked up little things here and there, but it would be nice to see a comparison.
Is there a reason for the curve in the kitchen counter? Cuts back on cabinet space at the same time. Not a fan. And we talked in another video to swap the location of the dinette and the theater seats, if you take out the side tables at the back wouldn't there be room for the dinette? The door window is frosted? Don't like that. Your idea of shelves behind the fridge is great, would make for a nice library! Folding clothes for us, hanging just wastes space. I'll take an iron for that maybe one nice outfit if we decide to go somewhere nice while camping. Would be nice to have a window in the bedroom since not one in the door for good reason. But would want to see if someone's knocking at my door (get that song in your head). No big Bish's discount? Oh well. This is nice, but too long for us and too high. Sorry!
I absolutely love the new campers that have no carpet! Carpet does not belong under a dining room table. One Spill of a sticky situation or Mel product is very hard to remove from that kind of carpet. Of course you always want to be careful but accidents do happen. Plus it’s almost nearly impossible to get out sand out of that carpet. Thanks for the great reviews Josh.
Hey Uncle Josh hope you're having a great day? This Transcend is a great travel trailer. In the bathroom to answer your question I would want the towel rod over the hooks. On the towel rod your towel will dry better then on a hook. I hope that you had a great 4th of July with your family? As always thank you Uncle Josh for everything you do. Your number one fan an friend Leonard Nelson from North Carolina!
I really like this design, esp the fluffy friendly resting room. The only thing I find out of place is the large windows behind the theater seating. I like the large windows, but you don't get to enjoy them unless you're at the table or walking out of the restroom. Love the kitchen counter space and all the storage. Hanging storage not a concern since my clothes are too big and long to hang at 6'2 and fluffy. All this in half ton towable? Strong candidate for my 2nd 1st rv.
I just this season bought the Imagine 2500RL next level up brother to this and I love it. More HUGE windows and they all open! I did remove one of the banket seats so I could put in a desk chair for better back working at the dinette. Works great. The Imagine has great insulation in the heat we've been seeing.
I don't like booth dinettes. My husband and I are both over 6ft tall (no room for our legs). My husband is 6'4" so we need interior height. I don't like the dinette being directly across from the entertainment center. I'd prefer a fireplace for electric heating instead of depending solely on the furnace. I do like no floor vents (aka floor dirt & trash collectors). I don't like carpet under the dinette. The kitchen window should be over the range, so it could have a fireplace & storage instead of a window. I don't like Murphy beds. We have one & we want a separate bedroom like this trailer. We're older, about 70ish & need electric tongue jack & stabilizers. I wild like an outdoor shower to wash our dog. I like to hang as many of my clothes as possible so they won't be so wrinkled. I don't like my clothing taking up storage room.
They badly need to make hanging closets on either side of the bed for this. Almost everyone I know hangs all their shirts and pants up and with that closet offering little it really needs to be on the sides of the bed. Otherwise this is a phenomenal camper
Agree the carpet under table is a problem waiting to happen. At least one hanging closet, room behind the fridge should be used. Looks like a lack of windows, especially the bedroom. More solar should be an option.
In 2021 I bought the Wildwood 22RBS Forest River from you guys. My wife and I absolutely love everything about it! However, I think I would almost be willing to triad for this one. I really like it! If I was buying today, put these 2 side by side, it would be a tough choice.
I love this layout. It’s the only lighter couple’s camper I’ve come across that would let me and the wife lay down on a rainy day to Netflix and snooze.
The tank sizes are epic! The decor is epic! Love the layout and that huge dinette. Be great for guests. We tend to be rather tall. It checks most of the Ms and I's boxes. Even her black tank. She's going to kill me if she ever reads the comments 😁 Soo roomy. Yeah the padding above the headboard is nice. I tend to fight in my sleep so the hands say thanks. I prefer the steps on this. Just one question. The cargo capacity is kinda low and we didn't get a look at the suspension so how structurally sound are these? I'll be doing a lot of boondocking and hitting the usual expansion joints at 60mph. Probably 4000 miles a year so have concerns about how well it's going to hold up? The price sounds great but it leads to the durability question.. Thanks 🍻
Love this trailer. The stabilizer jacks on an angle has to help with the wobbles. I would cut a cubby in the bedroom closets just above the drawer to put our cpaps in. The outlets are great but you would have to move a cpap to get into the drawer. Definitely love this one.
They need to stop putting the bathroom between the bedroom and kitchen. They can put in in a slide out when you don't have to go though the bathroom to get into the bedroom. Why is the furniture so cheaply made from the cabinets the couches and dining room etc.
Meh. Looks like pretty much every other camper in that size range. Rear entertainment with the TV mounted in the kitchen; kitchen so small Barbie wouldn't have enough room; and an unnecessary door in the bedroom. Doesn't anyone in design have an original idea?
*Turns out it does have hanging closets - the hanging rack is just WELL hidden up there!!* 🤦🏻♂️
I never claimed to get it all right!

Which flagstaff did you choose?
@@JoshtheRVNerd The Microlite 25FKBS

carpet no carpet don't matter - wouldn't change a thing 'cept it should be parked in my spot !!! 🙂
😊
A towel hangar I can't reach while standing in the shower is in the wrong spot and I will die on that hill. I'd put a couple drunken octopus on that door to fix this
What’s your recommendation for a bunkhouse this size?
There are a handful depending on what you’re seeking in an rv there are things like freedom express 257BHS, Jay flight 242bhs, imagine 2400bh, heritage Glen 23bhhl
@@JoshtheRVNerd awesome recommendation on the freedom express. The TV turning is an awesome luxury. Closest one for sale is 150 miles away.
I wonder why the refrigerator is slid all the way forward with the dead space behind it... maybe because you would hit your head on the top of the slide trying to get into it? Otherwise slide the fridge all the way back and maybe you would have full travel access?
Yeah so you don’t bonk the nugget
We picked up our 265bh yesterday. This is the same trailer without the bunks and a different rear couch. Im blown away by the openness of the main living area.
It really does bring a BIG feel
We were just at the beach today commenting on some young lady taking a selfie with that same camera technique. I think for it to work you need a strong breeze or a fan to make your hair flutter... Oh wait, that might not work so well. We love you for what's inside, Uncle Josh. By the what's inside your wallet?
Yeah my hai- wait
Love it, until I see walk-thru bathroom ... that doesn't work for us.
Why not? I used to not like them but they’ve grown on me 🎉
@@jimcramer9656 ..... we don't like our company/visitors using bathroom in 'our' personal space ..... how do we say no to inlaws needing to go? .....
We're certainly not everyone & it's a good floor plan for many, maybe most folks. (-;
@@carmencrick5721 that makes sense now. I totally understand that perspective. I try and go far away from family lol
15:29 attt,attt,at. Caaareful! 😅
😉
Can you give us a look at the imagine 2800bh?
I have one recorded and coming! Stay tuned!
Not bad at all. But tell me, how bad IS the tv visibility from the recliners? Because I see an advantage, in that you can see the tv while eating, and potentially even while cooking.
I don’t think it’s awful but it’s not direct straight on
I like this trailer, but I would worry about the loaded weight. We live in Colorado with all those mountains and I now drive a 1500 Silverado with a 327 for the power plant. Not sure they would like each other bouncing around in the hills.
Always smart to consider your intended roads and terrain
how about a towel rack or rod
I like the idea
We all have a turkey neck 😂
Auto leveling, it should be an option whether weekend warriors or full-timers. Just my opinion.
I’m not sure auto leveling systems can work on one this short. Usually rvs need a smidge more length for the sensors to work properly
Is there a camper out there that has close to the same living and kitchen layout, but has a bedroom with a bed slide?
Can they do the mo
ride steps on these?
We can apply them at the store typically
Josh not to disrespect this video, just wondered if you ever did any reviews on the Micro Boosts by Forest Rjver, thanks and sorry for the interpretation of this channel.
Buddy so you know I just see a comment as a comment. It doesn’t have to pertain to the video upon which it was left. So no worries 😊
I have not been able to cover any of the xlr series to date though
Thanks Josh, just didn't want to say the wrong thing pertaining to your channel, again thankyou!!!

How well does that type of shower door hold up?
I have no shower door data to reference. Apologies
I love everything about this camper except the fact that the dinette and seating are in the wrong spots. I would buy this tomorrow if they were switched around.
Try this one ruclips.net/video/_sczz7muqLI/видео.html
Try this one: ruclips.net/video/ndX2HX_TnnI/видео.html
Different builders do different interiors. Jayco offers a lighter farmhouse decor for example.
Oh yeah, I forgot, does this trailer come with an option for a table and 4 chairs?
I don’t think so..
@@JoshtheRVNerd Oh BUMMER Uncle Josh! ! 😁
Does the emergency egress window in the bedroom open? I’d rather have windows on both sides that open rather than a second door in the bedroom
They have to yeah
@@JoshtheRVNerd ok I should have been more specific. Does it have a screen where you can open it for a cross breeze for better ventilation???
Would you consider this a full time RV
That’s really a matter of individual owner preference. I’ve seen people full time in tons of stuff
Grand Design rates them as full time liveable.
@@RoadDogMedia for clarity - that’s not exactly true. There are some time limitations to their warranty allowances.
That's not what the factory representative told me when I purchased mine. Interesting...
Wait until you see the ‘24 updates - they’ll have the window you want!
Here you go! m.ruclips.net/video/R8BE2f8bd5o/видео.html
@@JoshtheRVNerd Thank you! I'll take a look later :)
Sorry!
Makes the entry look open I think. Just an estimation
This looks great for couples camper and real nice counter space.
Do you have these in Coldwater, Mi.
Not currently no
I absolutely love the new campers that have no carpet!
See pinned comment. Both bed towers ARE set for hanging storage
I just this season bought the Imagine 2500RL next level up brother to this and I love it. More HUGE windows and they all open! I did remove one of the banket seats so I could put in a desk chair for better back working at the dinette. Works great. The Imagine has great insulation in the heat we've been seeing.
That is awesome! Ty for sharing
Appreciate all the insights!
They badly need to make hanging closets on either side of the bed for this. Almost everyone I know hangs all their shirts and pants up and with that closet offering little it really needs to be on the sides of the bed. Otherwise this is a phenomenal camper
See pinned comment. Turns out they are and I’m dumb
Agree the carpet under table is a problem waiting to happen. At least one hanging closet, room behind the fridge should be used. Looks like a lack of windows, especially the bedroom. More solar should be an option.
*Turns out it does have hanging closets - the hanging rack is just WELL hidden up there!!* 🤦🏻♂️
I never claimed to get it all right!
In 2021 I bought the Wildwood 22RBS Forest River from you guys. My wife and I absolutely love everything about it! However, I think I would almost be willing to triad for this one. I really like it! If I was buying today, put these 2 side by side, it would be a tough choice.
❤️ ty for choosing our door step
No carpets and at least one hanging closet.
Turns out it has two and I am just dumb lol

would be nice to see the outdoor rv back country 24 ft model
I love this layout. It’s the only lighter couple’s camper I’ve come across that would let me and the wife lay down on a rainy day to Netflix and snooze.
The tank sizes are epic!
The decor is epic!
Love the layout and that huge dinette. Be great for guests. We tend to be rather tall.
It checks most of the Ms and I's boxes. Even her black tank. She's going to kill me if she ever reads the comments 😁
Soo roomy.
Great idea!
Bathroom needs a window. The shower is teeny.
Ty
I fart in the kitchen as well so it is still a fart fan despite its location
Hahhaa
My wife wants one of these bad. I don't like the black on the outside. Will get hot in the sun
Too bad that there is no window in the bathroom.
They need to stop putting the bathroom between the bedroom and kitchen. They can put in in a slide out when you don't have to go though the bathroom to get into the bedroom. Why is the furniture so cheaply made from the cabinets the couches and dining room etc.
Wishing the bedside wardrobes we're not in your face.
Dark colors are a turn off, prefer lighter colors
Meh. Looks like pretty much every other camper in that size range. Rear entertainment with the TV mounted in the kitchen; kitchen so small Barbie wouldn't have enough room; and an unnecessary door in the bedroom. Doesn't anyone in design have an original idea?
For what it's worth this kinda is one of the originals that spawned all the things that look so similar to this
Yes, with more solar panels! This would be perfect. I missed if it had heated tanks?
I don't believe Transced models come with heated tanks.
Belly is enclosed and heated but does not include tank heating pads
This is the one I really like! I have a 1/2 ton 4x4 Sierra that's made for trailering.
Sounds like a good pairing 😊
I like the general layout and features but I couldn't stand up in it, so it's not for me.
