Sony's photos are definitely more natural, with approach to take picture as you can see it. For some it is plus for some minus...What I dont like personally like, is how Samsung is trying to take details out of the shadows crushing all shadows in the same time. Natural shadows simply does not exist in the photo presented in 5:17min.
@@carver9312 yes, they are more "social media ready" type, but like I said, for some is plus and for some minus. What I really like in my s24 ultra is a 5x zoom, which in good light scenarios is taking great pictures, even of my running children 😀

I use a S23 Ultra. Manual mode doesn't mean anything. You still get a lot of post-processing. No matter how much you change the exposure, it still gets corrected. Even in RAW mode. So, manual mode does mean something in Xperia's. @archie7288
@@archie7288 I haven't used another phone's pro mode in a long while, but do you get other pro features in Samsung's pro mode outside of shutter speed and iso? Like manual focus with focus peaking, different focussing modes and metering modes?
I am currently using the Sony phone and it has been my most favourite phone camera of all time. If you’re even the slightest bit interested in photography, exposure and stuff, the photos it produces are unbelievable.
I don't know why many photographer RUclipsrs don't capture raw photos on (stock pro mode's not expert raw) S24 Ultra, because the S24 Ultra is very capable of shooting exceptional raw images. I've captured raw photos and compared them with JPEGs, and there's a huge difference. Only with raw images can the phone use its camera's full potential. And if anyone uses RAW, they often shoot with Expert RAW, and that app does produce processed RAW images that lack detail and don't look that good. The stock camera's RAWs are much better. I've tested it. P.S.: I know it's a long paragraph, but I thought this is something that should be addressed! 😅
Expert RAW saves a multi-frame 16-bit RAW image, which has more detail and dynamic range than a single-frame 12-bit RAW image saved by Pro mode. This means that Expert RAW images can be edited more flexibly in post-processing. If you want to shoot raw on a Samsung phone you should definitely use Expert Raw.
@michaelberg7201 But what I found out is that if you zoom in on RAW images captured with the Expert RAW app, the quality is not as good as compared to images taken in Pro mode.
@@Tamriz08 A RAW file has not been processed, that's the whole point of raw. Pro mode saves a similar kind of unprocessed raw as Expert Raw does, only with somewhat less dynamic range (ability to recover shadows and highlights) - pro just means you get to decide iso, aperture and speed for yourself. I suppose stacking multiple images may result in blurring of very fine detail if your subject is moving, maybe that's what you are observing.
True. Not everyone wants to pay companies for cloud storage and melt their brains with bluetooth… one of the the reasons I like Sony. Camera tho, is not for point and shoot babies, but for people with some experience in photography.
The differences are so small as to be insignificant! The only way to truly see the differences is to have both phones side-by-side! Not only that but the Samsung has been out longer and received updates. The Xperia has not yet received any camera updates. I would like to believe that it will get better if that means anything at all.
Hello, well done. Advantages and disadvantages of both cameras have been shown. Looking forward to your video mode comparison in the future. In the meanwhile I’m absolutely enjoying my mark six with all the advantages I like and Some of which you also mentioned…
I have a Sony Xperia V and it's incredibly inconsistent. Sometimes you're amazed by the results, and sometimes you think you're owing a 300€ smartphone. The highs are very high, the lows are low. I would never get a Samsung tho. Guess I'm going back to iPhones next year. Don't get me wrong, I love the Sony phone, especially the design. But I expect a consistent camera experience at this price point.
I have a pixel 9 pro XL and just ordered the Sony MKVI and I'm excited to try it out. Lucked out and was able to get it off of Amazon here in the US. I think it's going to be a great phone, I've never had a bad Sony product
Интересно вы сравниваете камеры: делаете снимки в разное время и разных условиях. На 3.44 на Сони облачно и почти нет теней, а на самсунг яркое солнце и отчетливые тени от открытых окон. Конечно контраст будет отличаться! 🤯
And yet, the main image we see in this comparison,... Goes to the Sony. Likewise the night mode. And the macro. Not entirely sure the conclusion is bourne out by the evidence.
Everyone talks about how Canon has such great colour science with cameras 📸. Imho Sony has the best colour science out of smartphones. Both Apple and Samsung just oversaturate colours or present them different to what the eye actually sees.
There is a problem with Samsung's dislay this year that Screen brightness is reduced too fast. In just 5 to 10 minutes of taking photos outdoors under the sunlight, and I will not be able to see clearly whether my photo is good or not, very annoying. Even in this video, it is clear that the Samsung screen is reduced the brightness compared to Sony, and sometimes it is not even as bright.
Ok. I love you. Is it okay if I use MotionCam Pro instead of Blackmagic in the latest version s24 ultra? Can you advice? This program? Loves from Turkey. Blacmagic and MotionCam?
Photo test is not fair with respect to colors. You shot the Sony photo while the street was overcast, and the Samsung while the street was sunny. The colors are going to be slightly different because photos with sunlight have more yellow color in them. You should have taken both photos in identical lighting conditions. 😒😒😒😒😒
I liked Sony’s colours; the shadows looked natural, but the highlights were blown out for my taste. I would give Sony a try, but their software support seems poor.
Sony for me. I was disappointed by the Samsung ultra for audio quality - wireless ams external speakers. The Sony sounds a lot lot better and has a 3.5mm headphone socket. Sony also has an SD card slot. Bluetooth 5.4, WiFi 7 and way more comfortable to hold. Both cameras are good, to the point that its rhe photographer who makes the difference. I found the Sony more enjoyable as a photography experience.
Interesting how your take on the Sony images is in a negative light vs the Samsung when literally every other reviewer says the 1 mk vi blows the Samsung away!

Nah, I don't choose one, when I can have both. I got Samsung for my wife and Sony for myself. That way we can get best of both worlds. I like Sony more cause of the dedicated shutter button, which also serves as focus button half pressed and much better app and much less auto processing. And, yeah, macro mode is insanely good there, as is night photography. I don't remember getting many "disappointing" photos to be honest, if you know what you are doing you will almost never miss. S24 ultras camera over a wide range of situations is quite frankly the worst camera I've ever used. the 50mp, and 200mp modes are completely unusable. They are vastly over saturated, and overly bright. Clear nothing was done with them. The 12mp mode is generic and terribly oversaturated. Grass like so bright it looks like a cartoon at times. If you use pro mode you get this weird picture degradation. To make matters worse you can't even adjust saturation in pro video mode. Which is astonishing as the old Samsung phones could, including color. The Video is so over-sharpened that it destroys the footage. It's really bad. Again, after having it for around 8 months or so I can say it's not reliable, and is quite terrible. I've used cheap 300 dollar phones that took more natural and better photos. Terrible. Even if you go to edit it in post, the photo is so damaged and noisy trying to reduce saturation. Samsung is terrible.
