- Well, what can I say? You know I'm a big kid, and really, most of us are. So to kick of Series 3, here's the opening of the Toy Story 3 set from Hornby. #You've got a friend in me!#

This video was literally my childhood
I remember seeing this video back then when I was young.
The same.
Me too! Isn't that crazy?!?
I remember I would beg my parent for models when I was 5, miss the old days
Same i saw it around 2013 i was like 5
I was like idk 5 or 6 last time I watched this
My almost 4 year old autistic son is obsessed with your videos. Thank you for making these, it is helping him talk more as he is always trying to imitate what you're saying :)
I`ve always loved Toy Story aswell! Grown up loving the first one. The 3rd one is excellent! Looks great this set. :)
I remember being quite surprised when Hornby brought that out. Nobody can say they don't think outside the box!
Hell yeah! I was eagerly awating August for the new series of vids!
Its good to have you back, the new intros brilliant. I recently introduced your channel to my grandpa who really likes trains particularly LMS and has his own layout so another viewer there for you lol.
Nice review, this set could have been better if it had the international couplers hornby uses and if it had a tender. To be specific the locomotive is loosely based off the Disneyland Railroad locomotive #1 C.K. Holliday. Also the number 95 pays tribute to when the first Toy Story came out in 1995.
Haha. What a great set to start off series 3 lol. Welcome back :)
Great little set!
Thank you for the comment! I will make sure I keep them coming! If there is any way I can help, please feel free to drop me a message or email.
i love the new opening
Loved it!! My scrap tors started with a basic set like that, stood on a carriage, and for my smelter my 4yr old bro droped it in are Bon fire!!
Lol
Differences between American and British Steam Locomotives-
-American locos feature a "Cowcatcher"; a sort of plough to prevent obstructions from being dragged under the wheels and derailing the locomotive.
-American locos feature the large headlight, normally mounted at the top of the boiler, near the front of the locomotive.
-American locos have much of their tubing and mechanical components exposed for easier access to maintenance workers.
-American locos are normally painted entirely black, so that frequent cleaning is not required.
-American locos are more cubic in their design than British locos, which feature more rounded and curvaceous lines.
-American locos are normally not fitted with items such as smoke deflectors, shrouding, or shielding.
Just a few differences. Both American and British steamers perform very well, stylistic, regional, and functional choices aside. (I prefer British locos myself, but I like the American Streamlined locos such as the Reading Crusader and the Milwaukee Road Hiawatha.)
Isn't it funny how in the past the farmers fenced their land to keep the livestock off their crops in the past, whereas the ranchers desired free land, no fences. Today the ranchers fence their land to keep their livestock in, whereas the farmers don't fence so they can easily move their tractors about.
YLW Pyro p
YLW Pyro i prefer british steam locomotives
i loved that film when i was young now im 14 memories :) brilliant set :D
now you're 23.
Finally this is reviewed in detail. YAY!
Amazing Intro and awesome video and we are all kids deep deep down inside :D
I love this
nice to be back hey, great train set i have fAULT about getting it
You get a little Woody with the Toy Story train set ... giggety giggety goo ...
It also needs a tender
model rail gave their, readers a free hornby railer a couple of issues ago. and its good to have you back :D
Man if I got this as a kid I would be very unhappy but then again I was one of those kids that absolutely loved trains and them looking realistic a possible (i.e no tender and drive rods and the lack of bogies). The first train set (HO) I ever got, I spent ages saving up for, Christmas came around the year after I got some track and a second set. The first time I saved up and bought a loco by its self was one of the happiest moments of my life. Its a shame it's damaged now. ah happy times. :)
Great vid
I wish I had this toy
You put this video on my birthday wow!!!!!!!!
it was also a mobile office for the conductor of a freight train. Its was also used to keep an eye on the freight as it went along.
i laughed when you said buzz and buddy lol
Where is the tender? That completely disables the locomotive from moving. It will also cause a boiler explosion because the tender holds the water and no tender = explosion
i like ur new title!
American Cabooses, also called crummies, were where the crew ate and slept. The man in charge was the conductor, and he stood up in the top compartment, or cupola, and stood guard for cows and outlaws.
Great unboxing. Haven't seen this model before...
dang that was th the best of the best
@sam3796 - I appreciate the feedback but this is one video out of about 20+ that make up Series 3. I'm quite confident that despite not liking this one, you will others. It's impossible to please everyone, all of the time - as I'm sure you can appreciate. :) But I welcome people being specific and telling me what it is they do and don't like about a video - rather than simply just 'liking' or 'disliking' it.
I remember watching this when I was 7!
got to love toy story! get vid!
he seems excited when hes opening it
cooooooooooooool!!!!!
Nice whetherd effect
COME ON HORNBY YOU DIDN'T ADD A RAILWAY TENDER FOR THE STEAM LOCOMOTIVE IN THE SET 😤😤😤😤😤😤😤😤😤😤
@InterCity82 the caboose is for the brakeman and crew to also take a break and the little part that pops out of the roof is for the brake man to see above the freight cars and passender cars and the locomotive.
@MachRacer4 - thank you for the comment and info!
Funny how the loco hasn't got a tender. All American loco's had tenders I'm sure.
That engine's number, No. 95, is a reference to the year Toy Story came out, 1995.
Wow the first American steam train he does is one based of a kids movie and made for kids...........( sobbing )............
Thomas:A train without a tender rubbish
Reader:your have no tender
Thomas:I'm a E2 tank engine class
Good set for the kids. The American version of that TS3 train set is made from Legos.
Disneyland Railroad (California) #1 "C. K. Holiday" built in the early 50's. She was Walt's favourite. Just to be precise.
@TrackMaster555 - thank you! :)
@donaldengine9 - thanks for the comment!
@theLEGOcommander1 - haha! true :) keep an eye out for the intros - there's a surprise in store. ;)
the tool that you can use to put coaches and rolling stock on the track.
I love trains
Glad to see new episodes being made! One little criticism I've always had with this set/engine, is that the loco is made to look like it's inside-cylinder, when in fact, it's outside cylinder, and it should have proper con rods on the outsides. Lovely review!
several people have told me that. I shall change it when the website is next updated. Thanks
@MachRacer4 - What you would call a "boxcar" we in Australia would call a closed wagon, and a "passenger car" would be a carriage. And our "cabooses" were called guard's vans, as the crewman who rode in the van was called a guard, not a conductor. There are lots of other differences - "engineer", for example (driver).
A caboose is similar to a brake van, but with the long distances there are bunks in the caboose for the crew. The conductor more or less has his office in the caboose as well. There are no passengers in the caboose. On the other hand the combination car, partial passenger coach and parcel wagon carried the mail and packages. Walt Disney and his brother Roy slipped and sold newspapers as a boy in a combination car for the Kansas City Star. In Walt and Roy's eyes, it wasn't a train unless there was a combination car.
im a fan of trains too
2019 anyone? Btw i just watched Toy Story 4
Here January 1st, 2020 :)
I don't really like toy story 4 I prefer toy story 3
@ididi9 - It makes perfect sense. Everyone knows the like/dislike button is rubbish and used by trolls. I appreciate genuine feedback on my videos. Disabling the button makes that happen.
and I LOVE hornby
The locomotive was modeled after Disneyland Railroad, locomotive number 1 the C.K. Holliday which is a 5/8 scale narrow gauge locomotive. That explains which cab is very large and the domes are really small.
thanks for the comment ic82 but it was my first video ever and there might be another one coming up soon it might be of a br green class 31 so keep an eye out.
Those look like old tri-ang era moldings
@MrRyan60 - haha :) excellent. There's a surprise in store regarding the intros - watch for the next one ;)
my only complaint is the train doesn't have a tender like the move how staring of hornby
i wish i had model trains
i see toy story 3 every day
Yes, I did a video on it ages ago!
Your right harry
@ShaurntheSheep you do. referring to named or unique locomotives especially. also applys to other machines with character, such as ships.
@MrJezza31 - keep an eye out for the new one - not all is as it seems ;)
it will be ran on the proper layout, yes - just for fun I think haha
At least this train has Walt Disney's favorite car, the combination baggage-passenger car. When Disneyland was being built Walt noticed the train didn't have that car on the consist. Walt asked where the combination car was, and was told there wasn't one or needed one. Walt remarked there will be one or there wouldn't be a train. Why? .HIs route involved a train trip everyday which none of the other boys wanted and he used the combination car to slip and deliver this papers.
Yes that locomotive would have been a wood burner. Check out the golden spike at Promontory point where east connected to the west.
and happy birth day!
I really would like this set more if: 1. The pistons were present to connect to the wheels and cylinders, and 2. If the locomotive had a tender.
were was the trains tender?
Ride Amtrak in the American West through the Rockies. There are no fences in many places today through the national forests and parks. But livestock ranches and farms do have fences, but not necessarily everywhere.
@modelrailways - thanks!
one thing about the railer, what if you put it on for the second time, then it's a rerailer.
A caboose was used for the workers to sleep in not to brake (they have one)
The funnell is called a balloon funnel they were used in woodburning locomotives around the late 1800s
I wish I could've got this train
It does look like fun and it,
haha lol, when you do a shot of your layout can you do a shot of please ? :)
It said on the bit of paper with the tips for lubricating it that the railer is called a rerailer
when you by all the trains do you keep them all
that steam train is a 4-4-0 if you are curious four frount wheels 4 driving wheels and 0 wheels under the cab.
@armycadet1997 - good point. No idea.
InterCity82, all I wanted was a Toy Story 3 Electric Train Set from Hornby, but I didn't get one. So, that's why I have to ask my mom if it has the number 95 on it like the year Toy Story was released and Lightning McQueen's number. My mom said it's too expensive and it costs $300.
The locomotive is based on a 4-4-0. American steam wood burner. And the thing at the back is called a caboose. You were right
why has it not got a like bar
about 75% of my viewers are aged between 4 and 16 - I must cater for them from time to time.
@jacobporrett - the railer comes with it.
The locomotive is based on the Disney train in Disneyland
It would be great if Horny sold accessories for this kit such as a tender and a few other cars, if not a water tower.
Nice new intro and you gotta love toy story but i wont buy this set i dont think but good video
You've got a friend in me (yes you do..)
~Einar Toy Story Lover~
What is the railer?
