  • Fishing an extra day at Banchory on the River Dee I finally caught an Atlantic Salmon (a Grilse - a salmon that returns after only one or two years in the ocean).

Thanks and good to hear from you. Now that the curse is broken maybe I can see a few more fish in the net.

That first salmon...pulse racing...and a marvel at how they return from their Atlantic journey.
My first ..from the sister river..the Don..on a cold March day ..no not on a fly..another good tradition lure..the Devon Minnow..
We didnt return them in 1982!!
    What pattern was it on.
My first fly caught one..on the other Dee..in Wales...on a old fashioned Borders fly..the Brown Turkey
Get back in...safe wading for number two.
