@@JLSpeed makes sense since they come with sticky 305s from factory ive just seen that the cats can break driveshafts and diff on stock power with DRs from wheel hopping so idk just looking around before i buy either or i love both

Its crazy you say launch just off idle. We are gonna go way back buy I had a 1994 z28 6 speed. I worked at cecil county dragway so I could play about an hour before it opened. I went from idle up to 23 to 2400 rpm launch. The best time I ever would get would be just off idle. I know it's not even close to these cars today in comparison. I did have heads, intake, also CAI called honker, headers, 3 inch straight through exhaust, cams, and ATI procharger 8 psi. Best times were mid 11s and best ever was 11.56. Still want a new ZR1 camaro.

Having said that I’m usually running in 3500+ da with a more or less stock car, just the interior out. I have done an 11.3 run 8 hours from home in killer -1600da but the track was so busy I only got one hit then Covid has shut the Mission track down ever since. I was on 305/45/18 Et SS tires that night but I normally run the Hoosier slicks on a Bogart wheel. I’ve put 400 passes on the 18 SS now and I definitely gain a couple tenths launching hard but the prep has to be there because any spin throws it off. Love your stuff man keep it up.
Yeah DA plays a big factor, but I’ve also seen a bunch of zl1s here in Houston barely running those same times 11.6-11.8 I ran 11.4 n stock tires one night in about 1100 dA and same night a zl1 on a rotofab and a tire barely ran 11.7

Noticed 1-2 shift short shifted on the 1st and 2nd pass, 3rd pass over 61 or 6200 shift rpm on the 1-2 shift. definitely better leaving off Idle, I will do the same thing to maximize my pass once I get to the drag strip. What size are the rear tires? Any tricks so you dont get a air bag lite ? I assume the belts are just left in the car and plugged in so no seat belt codes either.
Yes, I was data logging and I believe the 1-2 shift amd 2-3 from the dealer is set to shift at a lower rpm. Manual shifting might be the way to go on a stock calibration
@@JLSpeed Good to know, I pulled unplugged some wires on a mini cooper seat and belt and had a restraint lite that had to be corrected at the dealer level a royal pita. Glad the Chevy air bag light just goes out after you reinstalled the seat . Glad you hit your 10.90's like you wanted. Would have been tough if the DA was a little higher. What about a 180 degree thermostat so the heat soak isnt so severe?

Your 60 ft's should be better....at least 1.6 or high 1.5s.......DON'T BRAKE BOOST IT......its not a turbo....just time your leave and just FLOOR IT.....U got the traction for it Just watched rest of video....seems your figured out not to brake boost it...lol...

Everyone has their preferences and desired end goals. I wanted a low 10 second car that didn’t require me to gut it out or modify extensively. I was able to run 10.1 with just intake and headers so I’m very happy with that. Exactly what I wanted. I had an SS that was a heads cam set up on nitrous that would run faster but it was way more modified

They are the king of boosted stock cars in my opinion, way lighter than the Hellcat or Gt500 and just a 3.0 Maggie away from 1000 rwhp.

My last track outing, I never put my zl1 in manual mode to do my burnout. It still worked. I have never left off idle. Next time I will try that.

I launch my SS as hard as I can and it does get a better et if I have the traction, good video man this gen6 platform is a killer car.
Ive tried launching it by stalling it up but I end up running slower than leaving of idle and letting the converter flash up

Here in AZ, stock ZL1s on a tire are going 11.6 to 12.0 at 117-119.

The rears are 305/45r17s amd the airbag light comes on while the seat is removed. Once you put the seat back it goes away
