For a long time I haven't really been keen on the idea of apps with board games, but I recently picked up a copy of Mansions of Madness 2e on sale. I couldn't agree more with your comments on giving it a shot. It's changed my perspective on using an app with a game. I'm really glad I gave it a shot and I'm looking forward to picking up more content for it in the future.
It’s very well ingrained without taking the focus away from the game on the table for anymore than necessary. I believe it enhances the experience big time! Very cool to hear it felt the same for you!
Oh man, now you've intrigued me about Lifeform and Nemesis. 🤓 I can definitely vouch for *KD:M,* *Darkest* *Night,* and *Dawn* *of* *the* *Zeds* though. Those are fantastic solo games!
I have both. Too bad no one want to play LIFEFORM so I've only played solo and I have to say that the game is too hard. It's almost impossible to beat, and that's too bad because it really recreate the atmosphere of the first Alien movie. Nemesis on the other hand is pretty pretty good. One of my favorite.
A few games that I think are worth mentioning: Village Attacks (currently has an expansion on Kickstarter,) The Walking Dead: No Sanctuary, and Camp Grizzly. Those are just off the top of my head. I had some others in mind, but they made appearances on the list. This was a good list overall.
Excellent list to look into for games I do not have yet. A Touch of Evil, Betrayal at House on the Hill, Coma Ward, Dark Darker Darkest, Lobotomy, Pandemonium, Level 7 (Escape), and Virus are some great ones to add to your list (future list). Though I do not have Mansions of Madness 2nd edition - this may sound silly, but I do love playing Mansions of Madness 1st edition solo - thematically indepth. Keep on Rolling Solo!!! Cheers
Hey! Thanks so much for checking out the vid. If you enjoy the 1st edition you’ll likely enjoy the second! Great suggestions on games by the way. People will find that helpful. Cheers!
I'm dying to play Mansions of Madness Second Edition! First Edition was my intro into boardgames in my adult life and I love it! I haven't played it in a while since it's not soloable and thats what I mainly do lately. So the aspect of playing the Second Edition solo sounds fun. I also don't mind the app integration. I have Journeys into Middle Earth and I think it's a fun mechanic and way to tell the story. Deep Madness is another one I am intrigued by. I am a late backer for that one so I am just waiting for that one to arrive :) I can confirm what you say about Nemesis. That is one of my favorites currently. It just bleeds theme and really gives you that nervous feeling as you creep though the ship not knowing what is going to pop out at you. Great List! Thanks for sharing.
I need to get my hands on it and give it a deeper go. I enjoyed the time I spent with it thought but it’s easily far less than the rest for me. Thanks for watching! :)
Mansions of Madness 2 edition , still my favorite game and very high on immersion!! I also play Elder sign and like it a lot. Agree not very immersive, there. Also the digital versions make it so much easier to play (Solo). If I would play with others, I’d break out the board game. Here’s something funny.... the digital version of Elder sign’s music is the same as Mansions of Madness background music! I like it but I do wish they had two separate sound tracks!! I’ll admit, I never heard of deep madness, and now I’m intrigued! Nice selection here, thanks!!
My favorite solo horror game are Horrified, bloody inn, A touch of Evil, Xenoshyft, Escape Tales the awakening, Robinson Crusoe Mystery Tales expansion, Dark Gothic card game, and Arkham Horror LCG,
Fun list! Thanks for that. I was kinda surprised to hear you say 'Deep Madness' having a lot of scenario variety - I dropped my pledge for this game cuz I got the impression that the game had almost no story whatsoever and that each game basically was just a randomly generated tactical puzzle...The same could be said for Shadows of Brimstone if not for Hexcrawl. I still have to try it, but you've repeated what others have said: it's essential in campaigning this game. My favorite entry must definitely be Folklore: the Affliction, simply because it's the most story-heavy RPG-like exploration game - one that allowed me finally stop getting miniature-heavy games and be content with standees :-) I also like how FFG's Arkham Files is just a smorgasbord of horror-themed mechanics. Pick any one and you can play Lovecraftian horror - personally, I think Mansions of Madness and Arkham Horror:TCG are the best combo to have - the latter because of the many scenarios that are deeply immersive, the former cuz you get to use the miniatures and tiles with the card game to 'bling' your gameplay out and bring it to life...
Enjoyed reading your thoughts! Thanks for sharing them :) Those last two have a special place in my heart for the amount of sanity damage they’ve given me lol
Love your channel, although you've forced the wallet open several times. Haven't played to many from this list, but have to say....Dawn of the Zeds is AMAZING!!! Thanks again for the videos, you are typically the first one I go to when looking into new games.
Jason! Thanks for the kind words my friend. Dawn of the Zeds is a great one. Hope you found something new to check out too or maybe saved your wallet some pain lol
Newer to gaming than most. Deep Madness sits atop my most coveted list :) Sadly pretty difficult to obtain now (in Australia) unless mega-bucks are dropped. My current list; Cthulhu Death May Die Nemesis Arkaham Horrow LCG Mansions of Madness Machina Arcana Tannhauser The Night Cage
@@RollingSolo I confess I just dropped mega bucks on a Deep Madness core box 😉 Should arrive next week. Now you've got me wondering about Fireteam Zero. Ha.

My wife likes Elder Sign.... due to her being a yatzee fan. I'm waiting for my Deep Madness, geeze... I'm already insane waiting for QML to get it shipped out...
Glad to see Folklore the Affliction here! Very solid RPG game. Just the right complexity for beginners like me. ;) Gloom of Kilforth is something I haven't heard of. Would love to get my hands on it. ^^
haha Oh I know the feeling. I have a handful of projects in the mail with no tracking. I haven no idea when they will magically appear. Nemesis thankfully did though and it’s awesome looking.

Thanks man! I found some interesting games here to look out for :)
My personal favorite is Arkham horror lcg which is fantastic solo and coop ^^
Such a great game! Only gets better with time as well :)

Thanks for including Dawn of the Zeds, Adam! I really appreciate it - glad you enjoyed the game.
Hey Hermann! You bet, it’s a great one. Thanks for watching :)
Great list Adam. Love both Mansions of Madness and Arkham Horror LCG. Haven't made the jump into Zombicide, though it does have my interest.
Those are two of the best! Still play them heavily to this day!

Alessandro Massi Interestinf to hear that. I also concur that Nemesis is my pick of the two.
Deep madness is fantastic, glad to see it in your list

I like the new graphic overlays. They add a nice touch of professionalism.

I have played Elder Sign digital! I enjoy that from time to time. Deep Madness is one I’d recommend doing som research on. Got a playthrough as well!
My favorite solo horror game are Horrified, bloody inn, A touch of Evil, Xenoshyft, Escape Tales the awakening, Robinson Crusoe Mystery Tales expansion, Dark Gothic card game, and Arkham Horror LCG,
That’s a great pile of horror. Robinson Crusoe is a brutal one! Great choices :)
Sub Terra is great and the expansions even add more greatness (I'm told). I haven't played the expansions yet.
That's one I have heard of but never tried!

That’s another good option as well! I played a prototype but haven’t gotten the most recent version yet. Looking forward to that!
I am playing folklore right now. I just finished story 2.
Hey Julie! That’s pretty cool to hear. Hope your journeys go well :)

AWESOME! I haven't tried the orphanage but heard about it! Thanks for the other suggestions as well :)
i found one off the radar in a books a million store called "lucidity" it's great!!
Heard of that one! Nice 👍🏼
Very dangerous 🥶🥶
😉
Mansions of Madness 2 is the only game that scared me for real : playing alone in the middle of the night during a thunder storm.
Such an amazing game! Never gets old for me.
Mansions of madness is cliche . Arkham horror 2nd is better
I have to add A Touch of Evil and Lobotomy to this list.
Ah yes Lobotomy. Another heavy horror game I haven't gotten around to dipping into!
Fun list
Thanks for watching!
Haven't played it but no Resident Evil 2?
That’s one I’ve never played! I saw it in action at Gen Con. Looked cool!

Elder Sign is fun. i'm awaiting my Deep Madness shipment as well. Seen pictures that it's landing. Don't go crazy yet ;p
You are so much better than the old boomers at Dice Tower.
Thanks for the kind words. Just happy to provide a different style of videos! Cheers
For classic, campy horror you can't go wrong with Horrified
Thanks for sharing my friend! I’m curious about this ones staying power. Certainly one worth mentioning! Cheers :)
camp grizzly always is not mentioned
Ah! One I’ll have to seek out! Thanks for sharing.

Rolling Solo I wonder wich will come first: nemesis retail or tainted grail first wave...either way, it’s gonna be a fun christmas time 😁
It’s a race for our time! haha
Resident Evil 3.
I have now played it and I agree...when I redo this list to current day...RE3 will be on it!
Darkest Night...260€ on Amazon ahahahahah
Oh my! That’s a third party for sure. Don’t pay that. :O
Dungeons degenerates??? Great game.
Agreed! That’s a good one. Lots of people have issues with the colour scheme but it’s artistic flare imo!
