Thank you! I have been dealing with my CR-V visor issue for far too long. Thanks to your video, I'll be able to replace it without having to pay the dealer $200+.
Very helpful video! Thanks! I’d recommend practicing on the new part that arrives first so you can understand how it works. I realized I had to push in the tab much farther than expected after looking at the new part. Also, at 1:19 he switches from the driver’s side to the passenger’s side visor. The direction you rotate the passenger’s side visor to unlock is opposite to the driver’s side visor.
The locking tab is the key! Hard to get to -- but positioning the visor to remove then getting the locking tab to click back in is the challenge. The connector was also a mystery until I watched this video. Just replaced mine -- and the video was worth gold! Thanks!
My visor snap and wouldn’t stay up anymore. It became so frustrating I almost broke it completely off. I ordered a replacement from Amazon and hopefully I can put it on thanks to this vid ☺️
lol. Crazy! I ordered the visor online… An official Honda part, for about $70. It arrived today, and I struggled with trying to get the old one off for at least an hour. I could not! So I drove to the Honda dealership just now. They’re going to install it for $90. It’s better than the $300. They told me it would cost about a year ago. But wow is this ever crazy difficult!
@@DaddyCaldwell I can’t tell you what I did that fixed the trick. Because I know I did it a million times. The placement is tricky has to be exact, keep trying you’ll get it
anyone having trouble replacing it back into the car , in the beginning of the video remember how he moved the tabs w/ the screwdriver .. well do it again to new sun visor till tabs fit into roof of car
Honda was like. Hey we can't spend 1 cent on a screw, we'll just make it more probable for you to f#ck it up and buy us a new piece. I hope the engineer that. Designed this has a bad stomach for many years.
Mine has the tab like that. So, do I push in? Push dpwn? push towards the windshield or away? Which direction do I push? Trying to remove the DS by the way.
This question helped me so much. I'd seen another video that said to do it the other way, and to push the tab "down" which I took to mean towards the steering wheel and it was not working.
I turn it away from the windshield. Its in normal position before you press the lock. Then while pressing the lock, start turning the visor away from windshield, at the same time, make sure your also pushing and turning the lock together with the sunvisor
Use a paint can key and a pair of adjustable needle nose plyers. You can position the paint can key against the tab and use the elbow from the old visor to squeeze against. Compresses easily and just turn the visor right off.
I have pushed that little thing in with effort enough to cause concern I am damaging my roof fabric, and the metal slot this fits into. Yet it simply won't drop. Is there a trick im missing?
Im sorry to hear. But thats all the trick i have that always works for me. Maybe less frustration might work. Lol. Just kidding. This really is a bad design. I agree to everybody. The plastic after some time do get deformed and tends to bind. And during replacement time, its really hard for them to come out. Its possible that i did not have a hard time replacing this visor is because the plastic was still fairly new.
@@abcdeinformation3048 I did get it eventually...channel locks and some real twisting got it.. if the little prongs are not just right. This is a horrible design.
@@ryanq.1931 seriously! I think I fought with it for 45 minutes to get it out. It was unbelievable. They could have made that so much better. Installing the new one? 3 seconds flat 😂
Yea I can’t mine back in I’m scared. Any extra tips? I put it in correctly but when I spin it, the part that slides and clicks just magically stops moving
I’m trying this, but having a hard time. Going to try a slightly bigger screwdriver because the one I have is tiny. I’m trying the gap thing, but it looks like you still have to press it pretty hard to get it to turn?
I'm struggling so hard with this right now. I'm chewing the hell out of that little knob because I can't get it to move no matter what position I have the visor in and what tool I'm using. 😭
While I manage to push that thing inside, it doesn't turn while I turn the visor. I try to push it towards the rotating side of the visor but nothing. It's a tough one...
It may, or it may not. If you squirt too much, it might get in to the swivel portion making it slide easier, and the friction needed so the locking tab would turn might be lost. I would say get a small squirt on a rag, then wipe it on the locking tab.
sorry but thats a customers car. i dont remember the exact year model. but they are pretty much the same. if theres no screw, the design is pretty much the same.
Mine fell out randomly when i tried to block the sun, idk how the hell you pushed this thing back into place? It's got 3 directional tabs on it? It don't just push in. Had the wire short out and spark when i tried
thanks for the advice. i guess if your installing a used one, then its probably be in the lock position. but normally the brand new one should already be in the unlock position.
Hi. You'll get it if you actually watch the video. Yes there is some pressure you have to apply. But you dont push in the gap. You twist the visor to make a gap, then push on the tab. Good luck...

The dealer service center asked me $96 (labor only) to install it. Thanks for the video and I will try it myself once I get the part 🤞.

You cant push it in any direction but to push it IN. As long as you push on the tab with the gap in between.
