If he still uses his park bag/backpack he showed off in a video several years back, he probably carries around a notebook in there and will pull it out to jot down the number of birds an attraction has, along with a comment about it. 🤣 Edit: I'm amending my comment to state that I imagine Rob has one of those hand-held tickers where you tap the button and it flips over a number to record whatever you're counting, and then he writes it down in a notebook with brief little comments on said animatronics.
Great video! Never thought about how many bird figures there actually were. Also while it’s not in one of the 4 theme parks, Typhoon Lagoon features 1 animatronic bird on the lift for Miss Adventure Falls. Even though it’s not in the theme parks I thought it was worth mentioning since it’s at WDW and is a cool bird animatronic.
You missed the eagle on Everest in Animal Kingdom. Where the track is broken just before you go backwards. It both moves and makes a call sound so qualifies as an audio animatronic.
Just read that the Robin in Carousel of Progress came from the "Spoonful of Sugar" scene in 1964's Mary Poppins. Also, I believe the talking, luggage testing droid in the Star Tours queue is a bodyless version of one of the geese from an old Magic Kingdom show.
If you include the water parks I think there is an audio animatronic bird on the “lift hill” of Miss Adventure Falls at Typhoon Lagoon. Great video by the way.
That's... uh... an unexpected quantity of animatronic birds. Good to know that this is a new fun fact to share with people if you want to cite the impressive stats of Walt Disney World 😏
Is 'animatronic birds at WDW' and 'animatronic birds in the 4 parks' really the same question? There is at least one operating back stage in the workshops for guests on the backstage magic tour - does that count? Are there any at the resorts? (There are some seaguls with sounds at Art of Animation, but I'm not sure if they move). Thanks for another fun video Rob.
It used to be an EPCOT joke that every pavilion in Future World had a chicken animatronic - except Living Seas...This was way before The Body pavilion when there was still Horizons and World of Motion.
Thanks, Rob. This was great! We are local passholders, so anytime we learn something new or see something in a different way, it's a special treat. Much appreciated.
Posts the video on 5/12/21 and 5/19/21 the animatronics returned to the Grand Fiesta Tour so they can count again and are no longer cardboard cut-outs.
Man, Fort Langhorn was one of my FAVORITE places in the park when I was a kid. Mostly because I loved hidden forts with little alcoves and stuff, but also because you could see Big Thunder speeding down the mountain. Second best view in the park, hands down.
Actually there is one in animal kingdom. When I worked at Everest. At the broken track part before you go backwards there’s a bird that’s on a pole who rises up and down making a screeching sound
I actually specifically remember there being a animatronic parrot in a cage near the pirates of the Caribbean last time we visited. Idk if that counted or not with potc but if not you can add one more to the list lol
I wonder if you would count the hornbill in the queue of The Jungle Cruise in Disneyland as an autoanamatronic. As you mentioned jungle cruise animals normally don't count, but ever since it was removed from the ride and added to the queue they've synched it to move along with a bird sound, making it an autoanamatronic now
Fun topic!!! I've always loved the tiki birds and loved them even more when I made the connection that they debuted about 3 weeks before I was born! Is it correct (or just urban legend) that the robin from Carousel of Progress was the one used in Mary Poppins?
When they re-themed Goofy's Barnstormer, did they lose the barn and chickens? (Which were formerly from World of Motion at Epcot.) I haven't been to the Parks in a while.
My favorite attraction has always been Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room, you can tell from Disney films and attractions Walt loved birds. I mean even the permanent resident of Club 33 is a vulture.
I was initially on the fence about including the Dinosaur pterodactyls, but after digging into it a bit the general consensus seemed to be that they're closer to birds than lizards, but still technically not birds.
Thank you so much! Such a well-made video; your footage is crystal clear & love how you got straight to the point! I'm so happy you did this, I love birds and am so glad that Disney loves them as much as me! :) I'd bet there's more birds than human animatronics...lol
Now the big challenge would be counting the number of REAL birds at WDW - go on, I dare you 😂 seriously though, very interesting video - I had no idea there were so many animatronic birds outside of the Tiki Room, and I’ll have to look out for those two on the Carousel of Progress, I’d always assumed it was just a sound effect.
I saw the title card and thought “animatronic birds....I’m good maybe next video” but then something about HOW MANY had me more interested for some reason lol. Also I am curious roughly what percentage of viewers actually leave when you give the answer to this type of video in the first minute or so.
Are the raven animatronics at the Haunted Mansion just one character? You only see the raven when you hear the narrator, so is the raven speaking to you, letting you know about the 999 happy haunts?
Oh you also missed another bird in Tom Sawyers Island. Inside the mill, theirs a small entrance that you can see Inside the gears. Theirs a little bird sitting on a small nest in the gears and it makes a tweet sound every time it goes around. (No joke it was a surprise to see this )
Dropping the total at the top of the video should earn you youtuber of the damn year. I would have watched to the end even if I hated it out of respect for such a pro move, but it was excellent.
Is the bottom half of Donald in philharmagic still there? That should count as 1/2🤣
Good point lol
"Gran Fiesta Tour has 3...normally" 😂
No, no, this man needs more than a like and comment due to the fact that he went to all four parks to count over 200 animatronic birds
And told us upfront how many there are!! Kudos
we should buy t shirts
I'm imagining Rob taking a giant stack of spreadsheets to the parks as he counts every bird animatronic :-D
If he still uses his park bag/backpack he showed off in a video several years back, he probably carries around a notebook in there and will pull it out to jot down the number of birds an attraction has, along with a comment about it. 🤣
Edit: I'm amending my comment to state that I imagine Rob has one of those hand-held tickers where you tap the button and it flips over a number to record whatever you're counting, and then he writes it down in a notebook with brief little comments on said animatronics.
you forgot the birds in Mcdonald's countdown to extinction
If I may proposal a moral:
"It never hurts to do random bits of research. You never know what little tidbits you learn along the journey"
Either that, or "birds aren't real"
For a company so proud of its mouse, Disney loves ducks so much, they named their sports team after them.
I love how you decide to just go to the parks and count lol
Rob is actually The Count from Sesame Street.
Wouldn’t be the first time
Great video! Never thought about how many bird figures there actually were. You missed the eagle on Everest in Animal Kingdom. Where the track is broken just before you go backwards. It both moves and makes a call sound so qualifies as an audio animatronic.
I don't think I would qualify that because the figure itself doesn't move and just the platform it sits on.
it's a static figure
It soars up and down...when it’s working 😂
@@tallerguy142 the bird itself doesn't move though it's on a stick that lifts it up and down
Just read that the Robin in Carousel of Progress came from the "Spoonful of Sugar" scene in 1964's Mary Poppins. Also, I believe the talking, luggage testing droid in the Star Tours queue is a bodyless version of one of the geese from an old Magic Kingdom show.

I think you might have missed the Finding Nemo seagulls at Disney's art of animation resort. They sound and move
As you pointed out, those are at the resort. These are strictly park audio-animatronics.
The b-roll on your videos is so good and looks amazing.
Thanks! It's one of the most fun parts of putting these together.
Woah woah woah, Rob! Did we forget about the hidden falcon at the top of Mount Everest? Does it count as an animatronic?
Of all of the wonderfully inane stuff covered, this has been my favorite. Double thumbs up for taking the time when no one else would.
So how many of the 208 audio animatronic birds are chickens? There were lots of chickens in your list!
37 I believe.
That's... uh... an unexpected quantity of animatronic birds. Good to know that this is a new fun fact to share with people if you want to cite the impressive stats of Walt Disney World 😏

This is exactly the type of content that makes me love this channel. You take a unique look at amusement parks and I love it!
It used to be an EPCOT joke that every pavilion in Future World had a chicken animatronic - except Living Seas...This was way before The Body pavilion when there was still Horizons and World of Motion.
Chicken of the sea? 🤣
Cant think of one on the OG imagination, Universe Of Energy, or Spaceship Earth.
That's such a hugely impressive number of animatronics in the parks in general. It's hard to believe the number just counts birds
Thanks, Rob. This was great! We are local passholders, so anytime we learn something new or see something in a different way, it's a special treat. Much appreciated.
That was great Rob. Not something I ever thought of but I appreciate the effort.
Puffins on Frozen Ever After?
Posts the video on 5/12/21 and 5/19/21 the animatronics returned to the Grand Fiesta Tour so they can count again and are no longer cardboard cut-outs.

Very cool. Their is also the one on miss adventure falls in typhoon lagoon too
You earned a sub for being honest and saying the number at the beginning of the video
What about the puffins from Frozen Ever After?
This video is for the birds. And I appreciate that.
Actually there is one in animal kingdom. When I worked at Everest. At the broken track part before you go backwards there’s a bird that’s on a pole who rises up and down making a screeching sound

Theres an animatronic parrot in a cage in the mexico pavillion and outside of pirates
edit: And puffins on Frozen Ever After
Good "ol Rob giving us the BIRD!!!! You brighten my day in a Disney way!
Lol you’ve given a whole new meaning to giving someone the bird! Lmao
BTW Rob, you really are quite awesome. Thank you for these videos
Fun topic!!! I've always loved the tiki birds and loved them even more when I made the connection that they debuted about 3 weeks before I was born! Is it correct (or just urban legend) that the robin from Carousel of Progress was the one used in Mary Poppins?
Hitchcock would be proud!
As Matthew Broderick would say, “That’s a lot of birds.”
There's a crow/raven in Peter Pan's Flight, although it probably counts as a static figure.
This is amazing! An answer to a question I never knew I should ask!
And Donald duck was the inspiration for angry birds!
Forgot Owl in "The Many Adventures of Winnie The Pooh"
Technically he doesn't move. The chair he's sitting on rocks, but he himself is a static figure.
@@MidwaytoMainStreet Fair enough
“Birdception” 🤣🤣🤣
So the moral is each of your patrons could get 82% of a bird, or some of them getting fragments that add up to 82% of a bird
Rob your wrong: it’s actually 208 and 1/2.
Your forgetting about Donald Duck lower half at the end of Philharmagic in Magic Kingdon
I can't believe I've been to Disney World like seven times and I've never gone to Tom Sawyer Island.
Doesn’t Frozen Ever After have Puffins?
Thank you always great show
There are also 3 puffins on Frozen Ever After, but I don’t think they have audio.
Tagging a moral onto the end of this video? That's for the birds.
Not sure how you spotted some of them! Nice work though. I’m sure Disney didn’t know the total count.
I really hope they bring the Grand Fiesta Tour animatronics back before my next visit. Makes me sad to see the cut-outs :( I love that ride.
Thier is one animatronic bird at animal kingdom. This is the bird that flys near the turn up track at expedition Everest
Wait, wait....you’re telling me in all of Spaceship Earth....not one animatronic bird?! Mind blowing.
im going through the whole ride in my head and i don't think there's any animals at all actually [besides the mammoth but that's a screen]
@@memethyst There is a horse! Right next to the Roman soldier
@@liamnoname6662 AGH you're right
All these years later, and those f***ing hippos in Small World STILL give me the creeps!
I, for one, do not miss the "barker birds" that used to be at the entrance to the Tiki Room and at the base of the upramp at the exit of Pirates!
A b-b-bird bird bird! B-bird’s the word
This was great😀👍🏼
Just a whole lotta birds and a new favorite video on the channel for me! What a weird random question that only you could answer!
Arent Dinosaurs technically birds though?
I was initially on the fence about including the Dinosaur pterodactyls, but after digging into it a bit the general consensus seemed to be that they're closer to birds than lizards, but still technically not birds.
This is so interesting
doesn't Typhoon lagoon have one now? been there a few years I believe
Incredible
Isn't it more tho since birds aren't real and all birds are animatronics?
True. r/birdsarentreal.
The attractions with the most bird can easily be the bird watching path in animal kingdom
The term audio animatronic is outdated animatronics no longer run on tone's and aren't audio-animatronics anymore
Expedition Everest have 1... sometime.
And aren't Dinosaur bird? Technically? At least the pterodactyl is!
Thank you so much! Such a well-made video; your footage is crystal clear & love how you got straight to the point! I'm so happy you did this, I love birds and am so glad that Disney loves them as much as me! :) I'd bet there's more birds than human animatronics...lol

You want to talk about Birdception? What about the Dinosaurs in the ride Dinosaur? From which birds are descended from.
I'm glad your optimism about the Donald, Jose, and Panchito figures returning to Epcot turned out to be the correct choice!
harder question..... how many animal (feral and anthro animal) animatronic are in disney world? including mythological animals and dinosaurs
Did you know that the two birds in the background in the first scene at the Carousel of Progress are from Mary Poppins
Are the raven animatronics at the Haunted Mansion just one character? You only see the raven when you hear the narrator, so is the raven speaking to you, letting you know about the 999 happy haunts?
Props for actually putting the answer within the first minute of the video (I watched the whole thing anyways out of interest)
Honestly the number you said is less than I expected, despite it being a lot. They just have so many animatronic birds, they throw them in everywhere.
101 Tiki Room Birds.. lol
Did you miss the bird fighting the rattlesnake on Big Thunder?
Oh you also missed another bird in Tom Sawyers Island. Inside the mill, theirs a small entrance that you can see Inside the gears. Theirs a little bird sitting on a small nest in the gears and it makes a tweet sound every time it goes around.
(No joke it was a surprise to see this )
You could have ended by telling us that the first animatronic was a bird so that's probably why there are so many.
"This video is for the birds!" ... Obligatory...
Ok.
But how many animatronic-birds are there at Disneyland?
Dropping the total at the top of the video should earn you youtuber of the damn year. I would have watched to the end even if I hated it out of respect for such a pro move, but it was excellent.
There’s Disney parks enthusiasts, and then there’s us; a very unique type of Disney parks enthusiasts that care about this 😂
Does Club 33 at WDW not have an animatronic vulture like the one at Disneyland?
How many hidden Mickeys at Walt Disney World
What about the animatronics in Typhoon Lagoon?
(Sorry!)
Now do insects!
Plot twist...the only birds that are real are the ones at Disney world. 😂
At least you don't have as many birds as that poor guy from 12 days of Christmas.
correction at the its a small world part, there are 3 geese in the netherlands and finale scene, so there is 6 animatronic birds in its a small world
Well ain't that for the birds...
🦜🐔🦢🦚🐦🐣🦃🦉🐥🐓🦆🕊🐤🐧
what about all the dinosaurs? they count kind of
Did you get owl in Winnie-the-Pooh?
Would the skeletons of the birds that are now droids in Star Tours count as well?
