Who would ever think that they would add a restriction rubber washer. I know, so you would call an expensive plumber to fix it. You just saved a lot of money 💰
It's a o-ring used for gov't restriction they swell over time due to the hot water temp they have to be installed by the factory in order to qualify for waterflow restiction,we remove them before installing any faucet especially Pfister
I been dealing with this for quite some time now, I've taken apart the two faucets in our main bathroom and couldn't figure it out, thank you for such a simple little O-ring to have that much restriction. Now the wife is happy with full force/blast of streaming water. Thank you!!!
Dang, I have three of these on three sinks and one is flowing slow. I thought the thing had gotten clogged up so I just ordered a new one today, but after watching your video I am going to try your fix. If it works you are my HERO and I will send the new one back to Amazon. God Bless DYIers. UPDATE : few hours later, I used your suggestions on how to remove the faucet handle, but I used a pair of Snap Ring pliers to remove the collar that holds down the faucet cartridge. Worked great and I had it in my tool box. Harbor Freight has them as well. So project complete, no leaks and I have great water flow from this faucet. Thank you again for putting this RUclips together. The new faucet that I ordered from Amazon will arrive tomorrow and I will send it back , thanks to you.
Definitely odd they only have those two holes to unscrew it. Perhaps that's a normal way of doing it in China but I saw no information on anyone else that had to take off one like that. Luckily that spanner was just a couple of bucks on Amazon but it took like 3 weeks to sail across the sea ;p
I have this exact same faucet and have been fighting the low flow issue for some time. Thank you so much. I left the entire flow restrictor out (not just the o-ring) and it gets even more flow. If turned on completely, it will splash out of the sink. I no longer have small children so I'm leaving it that way. The teenagers who use this bathroom can moderate the flow with the handle, as it should be, and are loving it.
I have same issue with my faucets, will try to fix them myself. Thankyou so much for your video. I'm sure you have help a lot of people with this. God bless!
Same faucet. Same problem. But this didn't fix it. We put it all back together and it only works for a second. Super bummed. Dont want to buy a new faucet till we figure out the problem. But this gave us some great leads! Thank you!
I have not gotten to it yet, but a plumber once advised me to try changing out the filter inside the cartridge first. If it's still not working, then replace the cartridge rather than replace the faucet...
You could have left the little blue water restrictor out of the faucet. Almost all new faucets have them in either the aerator at the faucet spout or they are under the valve cartridge. I always take them out when installing faucets. The water restrictor in most aerators for the spout sometimes are like a clear pinkish film and barely perceptible. Others look like a very fine screen with a rubber washer around the edges. I just use the tiny screwdriver tip corner to scape them off. They always come off in one piece. The EPA passed a rule that all new faucets have these lousy water restrictors in them. And look at the problems it causes people. There are several other YT videos on this same subject.
Thank you for saving me money. The low flow started a long time ago and was almost at a stop. This fixed my issue as well. Now I have to turn the supply valves way down because the pressure is so good but too good for the sink. Again, thank you so much for sharing this.
Thanks for the great video! My jerk ex husband is a plumber but was too busy getting wasted to come help me when this happened to my faucet. So I watched your video and fixed it myself! I already knew how to replace the cartridge. Girls rock!!!
We're renovating our bathroom, and this faucet is one of the new features to our ensemble.. haven't worked to the point of installing it yet, but I am glad I came across your video... as we have well water, I anticipate encountering some blockage and slowing of water flow over time... after viewing your video, I'm going to save myself the time and just remove the restricter(s) before the full install. Thank you for posting this!
I wonder if enlarging those holes on the thing with a very small drill bit just ever so slightly might help flow and water pressure . Great video thank you.
I have the same faucet by BWE. Thank you for the link for the spanner wrench, ordering today. Bought one from local hardware store but it's not durable enough to get the grip I need to loosen the top. Thank you for the video!
My faucet had slow water and after I watched this I took out that o-ring but it still has a problem, do you think I should try totally removing that part where the o-ring was?
This worked! Thank you!! Also had to clean out the gunk behind the small screen on the center piece to get to work (he mentioned this in the video that he may need to clean from time to time by taking out the washer)
I know you used a fancy tool, but I was impatient and a flat head and a few little taps on the brass holes and it loosens right up!!! But THANK you for the instructions all 3 of ours work like gold now!!!
Thank you..I removed the screen..You save me hundreds of dollars in plumbers scams..I don't mind the water bill..I need water to flow..😊..I found your video about 12month..we have different faucet but same stuff inside..
I have a 2 handle version and the fix is the same. Just remover the cap at the top of the outlet. Thanks for the video and yes, I had to partially close the water supply to slow the flow a bit.
Hi, I have almost the same exact faucet as you, I took the outside piece off and then used an Allen key to open the top and I got the screw out but can’t take the handle off What am I doing wrong or how can’t I take it off?
My problem isn't water flow, I want to know why this company would build a faucet with an aerator that is not replaceable. I had issues with my previous faucet collecting goop I mean it looked like black mold so I would replace the aerator regularly. I bought a waterfall faucet same manufacturer but similar to this one unknowing that the aerator was permanent. If I'm wrong please advise. Nice video.
You have finally solved the mystery because everyone else is telling me the screen just needs to be cleaned out but it’s brand new! QUESTION: what is the name of the tool you need to take it apart? There’s no brand-name that I can find anywhere on the faucet. Please help. Thank you.
I read all the comments and learned that it’s a spanner tool. But they have different sizes so now I don’t know what size to get. Good grief the water is barely trickling out of the faucet.
Soooo . I just learned how to get to that description thingy. I watched RUclips but don’t interact so didn’t know how to navigate it.. Now I’ve got the link and I’ll be referring back to the video to fix it. OMG I’m so embarrassed.
J'avais un problème sur mon mitigeur GROHE de ma baignoire où l'eau chaude n'arrivait plus. Au lieu de changer la cartouche, j'ai préféré changer directement le mitigeur
Is the sink like this one or does it have separate handles for hot and cold? If just one is slow, it might be your cartridge. Dual handles faucets often have two cartridges.
Please keep the camera still when you’re filming. It was so hard to watch because of the camera constantly zooming in and out moving left to right. No need to do that!
Dude, you’re genius!! All 3 of my bathroom faucets were fixed. Thank you so much. Happy wife, happy family :)
Glad I could help!
It worked! Thank you so much! We had a plumber look at it and said we needed a new faucet. You saved us hundreds of dollars.
Buuuhahahahaa!!!! We had a plumber come out & look at it. He look at it. We looked at him & said - WE NEED A NEW PLUMBER!!! 🤣🤣🤣
Who would ever think that they would add a restriction rubber washer. I know, so you would call an expensive plumber to fix it. You just saved a lot of money 💰

dude is this legit? You might have just saved my ass hahaha
This did the trick!! Was almost ready to replace two faucets. Thanks!
You are a genius, thank you for explaining our product's blocking issue in such detail
If I need to replace the limiter component for the faucet discussed in this video, where would I be able to purchase it?
This was our exact problem - your fix was exactly what we needed. Thank you so much for the great detail and video quality.

Nothing pays off like perseverance. Well, that, and having the right tools for the job. Congratulations, you had both!
Your lucky you were able to take it apart. A lot of the products today make it darn near impossible to fix yourself. Good job.

how did you get the entire flow restrictor out? I got the o-ring out easily but cant grab that restrictor to pull it out?
I have same issue with my faucets, will try to fix them myself. Thankyou so much for your video. I'm sure you have help a lot of people with this. God bless!

Just wanted to say THANK YOU VERY MUCH!! This fixed my problem right away. Keep up the great work man!!! Best wishes!!!
Thank you sir. We first pulled the whole little bugger out. Nearly shot us across the room, found your vid popped the washer out and bingo.

Thanks! Worked like a charm. That O-Ring in the restrictor was it.
I wonder if enlarging those holes on the thing with a very small drill bit just ever so slightly might help flow and water pressure . Great video thank you.
On my I heard a pop and immediately cut to very slow flow. Wonder if it's the same issue.
I have the same faucet by BWE. Thank you for the link for the spanner wrench, ordering today. Bought one from local hardware store but it's not durable enough to get the grip I need to loosen the top. Thank you for the video!
I can’t find the link. I looked on Harbor freight and Amazon but none of the tools look like words in the video. I would appreciate some help. Thanks.
You could always partially close the valves underneath to slow that flow down but you are correct the water is now blowing by where that o ring was.
My faucet had slow water and after I watched this I took out that o-ring but it still has a problem, do you think I should try totally removing that part where the o-ring was?
Thank you, great video. Found this video in the comments section of the purchased faucet i bought, in search for an answer.
This was sooooooo incredibly easy to follow and do! Thank you so much for posting this video! Got my sink running great now
I had the same problem as you did and I wish I can across your video sooner. The water is now flowing freely again, thanks to you.
Do you happen to know where I can buy one of these restrictor. I removed mine, but broke it. Now I get too much water/noise when I turn it on.
This worked! Thank you!! Also had to clean out the gunk behind the small screen on the center piece to get to work (he mentioned this in the video that he may need to clean from time to time by taking out the washer)
thank you so much, That solved my faucet flow as well. Why does the manufacturer even have that in the first place,
What kind of wrench did you use to unscrew that weird screw?
OMG... Thank youuuu so much... I was about to ship out the valve I purchased... I will try to do this tomorrow... You are awesome! Thank you! 😉
I know you used a fancy tool, but I was impatient and a flat head and a few little taps on the brass holes and it loosens right up!!! But THANK you for the instructions all 3 of ours work like gold now!!!
Good improvise, I used a pair of Snap Ring Pliers, but what ever works
What is the required size of the spanner tool ? Thanks again.
Thank you for the help! Mine is a different brand, but had the exact same issue and this worked perfectly!
Thank you..I removed the screen..You save me hundreds of dollars in plumbers scams..I don't mind the water bill..I need water to flow..😊..I found your video about 12month..we have different faucet but same stuff inside..

What am I doing wrong or how can’t I take it off?
What model faucet do you have?
That's one of the great videos I've seen! Thank you! you solved my problem.
Good work . Could set the camera up and make it better...but it works. And my prayers are answered. I hope. Thank you.
Thanks SO much! I've been putting up with this way too long! You're a Godsend! God bless YOU ☺️
I hope your state's water commission doesn't have you hauled off to the pokey for violating water flow restrictions. Good job on the repair.

What size Allen did you use? For some reason I can’t get one to fit.
Ya me too
@@Angels4us-2 3/8"
What size is the wrench?
Thank you for making this video, I had the exact same problem and you were able to help me fix it
Glad it helped
Just wondering what size of spanner was used to fix the faucet on this video, is it the 2mm?
what size Allan wrnech is that? And what size spanner pins?
Hi…thank so much your video really worked…I had the same problem and my faucet was brand new go figure.
Have you tried just leaving the flow constrictor out completely?
What a difference, Thanks for the video!
Thanks for watching!
What screw size did you used to unscrewed the first screw?
You have finally solved the mystery because everyone else is telling me the screen just needs to be cleaned out but it’s brand new! QUESTION: what is the name of the tool you need to take it apart? There’s no brand-name that I can find anywhere on the faucet. Please help. Thank you.

What is the brand name of the faucet ? Thanks
Brilliant! Loved this!!❤
J'avais un problème sur mon mitigeur GROHE de ma baignoire où l'eau chaude n'arrivait plus. Au lieu de changer la cartouche, j'ai préféré changer directement le mitigeur
This was very helpful 👍🏾
Excellent Job! What a difference. Well done 👏👏
Thank you! 😊
Thank you! It worked just like you said!
You're welcome!
Thank you very much. Thank you ever so much. Thank you, thank you, thank you..
So enjoyable to watch!
Fixed my problem as well. Thank you!
Thanks for the great video!
Worked like a charm! Thank you!
Thank you!
Thank you!! It worked!
Glad it helped!
My problem is it’s just the hot water for me. The cold water flow is great. But the hot water trickles
Is the sink like this one or does it have separate handles for hot and cold? If just one is slow, it might be your cartridge. Dual handles faucets often have two cartridges.
Thank you thank you much appreciated.
Thanks! Just fixed mine in 3 minutes.
Just fixed mine thanks
thank you so much!
It’s a flow restrictor so water don’t go flying over the sink and onto the floor. Get a replacement o-ring or a thinner one will allow better flow
Haha! He said 'yo' ... when the water came flying out
hmm, I just did this and is leaking... :/
Anyone tried this on a Pfister faucet?
Perfect! 🔥☺
Please keep the camera still when you’re filming. It was so hard to watch because of the camera constantly zooming in and out moving left to right. No need to do that!
👍👏
I can't even watch it, I'm so motion sick. It's like watching Blair Witch😂
I had a problem with the motion, however, this was the key to my fixing my faucet.
I know I’m being pedantic, but I get annoyed by people who can’t pronounce words correctly. It’s “dek ra tiv”, not “dek or a tiv”
🤓
Talk about motion sickness 🤮
