    My first husband did this, but it was just one of the ways he was abusive, always enjoying inflicting pain. Withholding is sometimes careless and sometimes cruelly deliberate. My second made up for it big time! 🎉😂

    The Bible tells husbands and wives to not withhold their bodies from one another unless it's mutually agreed upon for a certain reason.

      @SammytheStampede 3 дня назад

      Yes, scripture says "Husbands, love your wives as Christ loved the Church, even to shedding you blood for it."
      That's fine and all: then we have the other half of the directive: "Wives obey your husbands, in everything except sin." I don't know any woman who embodies that spirit except spitefully (not to say they're not out there, just not in my inner circle). Seems inconsistent to demand one and excuse the other.

      @@SammytheStampede You're butchering those bible verses terribly. There's profound wisdom in the Bible because it comes from our Creator, who knows us best. Did you know that women value being loved over being respected? Men on the other hand value respect over love. So God's commands for His people actually target the innate needs of the individual, pretty smart, eh? If you have trouble respecting your husband's authority, that's your problem- not God's. Be careful criticizing God's word, you will be held accountable for it.

    The reverse situation is the daily lived experience of MOST men. Would your advice be the same? I feel women instinctively get more empathy. Why? 🤷🏽‍♂️

    What if her desires are more than his body is up to respond to? There was a time when my husband's desires were more than my tired body and mind in any way wanted. If I tried to respond, I felt used, not loved or desired. I vote for compromise on both spouses' parts.
