Yup.. i started to do my babies room tuquoise, yellow and gray with white wood... then when she turned 2 she decided to love pink ... then when she turned 3 I had to buy a bunkbed because I got pregnant with a girl and wanted them to share a room but I couldn't find white wood so I had to buy black wood. And now that she is 4, she loves unicorns and Elsa so I had to add also add baby blue and rainbows.... oh I can't wait to see what her little sister would want... 🤣🤣

Maybe it's just me, but I think it's ok if not everything matches. Irl, you may have some furniture pieces given by family members or pieces bought at a pawn shop or something. I think allowing things to be more "imperfect" actually makes it better and more realistic.
yeah the super matchy-matchy gets really boring after a while, especially since matching stuff in ts4 is really limited due to not two wood-tone items actually being the same wood tone.....

City Living should get a refresh like Spa Day. I play in San Myshuno frequently and I think a lot of people do as well. Especially that it's the only "city" world in the game.
I wish they would make another "city" world! Like a combination of San Myshuno and Windenberg with MANY apartments.
@@redbluestar2308 Yes! I'd love to see a European ispired city where there is an old town part with narrow streets and tiny flats, but there is also a part with skyscrapes and all that.

yeah i ALWAYS start my sims in an apartment and eventually move them into a house when they start a family and get going with their career, so it’s safe to say i use san myshuno the most, it would be nice to have a few more apartments and a new design for all of them

In my apartment building everyone gets to have a different front door, since the original ones from early 70s have long been replaced. I have gray door but my neighbours have reddish brown and greenish black respectively. FUN. (if only Sims gave us the choice at least)
I feel like if they had just given us a cheat to edit the hallways/windows/doors in apartments no one would care how it looks lol. I get why we cant change the outer walls but why the hallway??

Ok but everyone knows by now you're great at making small apartments or houses for a big family and 2 or 3 tile bathrooms. :) Why not try challenging yourself now try to build a HUGE apartment for 1 or 2 Sims, making it as lavish and opulent, decorated (and cluttered) as much as possible?
That would be so fun!!
I just need simsie just go crazy with packs please. She builds so many lots with base game and I love the creative process she has with just base game but I want to see her at the most creative.
I think in the next few weeks at least she's going to be posting way more base game for the influx of new players that will be happening with BG going Free But I totally feel the same way. I love seeing the Simmers use all the fun packs. They end up being so creative!

@@hollyyyyyy there's a difference to watch 20 minute video and few hours stream vod. and she posts everyday, so why not put one base game/limited build and one all pack speedbuild? her viewers have been asking for this for so long. to the point that i decided to unsubscribe and ocasionally watch a video to see how she's doing. i've been following her before she graduated, when she shared susan stories and it's tiring to watch her build the same thing over and over.
@@grose8153 BRUH me too I remember Susan it is so weird to see her not acknowledge any of that time period and only produce the same formulaic videos. I also find it strange that she uses the same script like her choice of words is always the same, its so weird and like she's talking to a baby.
@@zoekaplan7809 I'm fine with the fact that she moved on from susan stories. but tbh sometimes the videos feels like a fever dream. i get it that she wants to help newer players understand the game and people constantly ask about basic stuff on twitch. but i can't believe she isn't tired of repeating same stuff every video.
It's so crazy to me how differently people see color. Like when Kayla had that greenish wall and she just went "oh that does NOT match." Like no technically it doesn't, but it definitely went well with the colors of the wood and the rug she chose. Personal style is just so cool some times.
I noticed that when she decide to use for example pink colour, then she use ONLY pink shades. If she use blue, then EVERYTHING is blue. She never use contrast colours etc. It's the wort when she use beige, it litteraly scream for fun accent colour but no, every each piece of furniture, wallpaper, flooring, EVERYTHING will be beige and only beige. So sad:(

Simsie please stop listening to the one or two people in your Twitch chat always asking for base game/limited builds. I think I speak for most of us when I say we all have too many packs and we want to see you use the game to it's full potential even if we can't download it!

@@LangkeeLongkee That's perfectly fine, but I also know her Twitch chat is always heckling her and she gets stressed from that and sometimes she changes what she does based on a few hecklers. I think it's fair that people let her know she doesn't always have to do base game only or limited builds.
@@bigsiskrishere from what I've seen people usually ask her why she does base game builds and she says why. And she takes advice from chat but she does tell people not to back seat game. She's open to suggestions and she follows them if she likes them but she won't do something she straight up hates cause chat asked her too, and ppl get timed out for yelling at her to do stuff.
@@LangkeeLongkee I agree that she usually tries to set good boundaries with chat, but I've definitely seen her change to base game only based on a couple heckles. Yeah, she doesn't hate it, but I'm also worried that she thinks those people are the majority opinion and that she needs to cater to them bc they're the majority or something. Other people on YT especially tend to heckle her for only doing base game but I hope kindly worded comments let her know people are open to her doing it other ways too.

PLEASE. It’s so boring and uninteresting. All the stuff in this game and the same furniture is used repeatedly because of the unnecessary restrictions. What’s the point? At least this time university and city living were allowed 😩
There are plenty of other sims ytbers who make nonrestricted builds. I personally think it's great that lilsimsie is trying to make builds that people who don't have all the packs can download, especially now that the game is free. It can be really annoying when you see all these other big youtubers make gorgeous builds, but when you want to download them they use 26 dlc and when you place it anyway, it's missing half the items cause they used cc, too. 💀
Green and pink/red are complimentary colors and absolutely work together!!!! I especially like that mint with the more coral-red pinks. One of the complimentary colors being more pastel and the other being more rich always looks great in my opinion like pastel pink with emerald green or navy blue with sherbet orange!
There's a book by josef albers called the interaction of color that I highly recommend. It has detailed written descriptions but it also has picture examples. A lot of the time you'll start to get a little bold with your color choices and it looks really good but then you go back to monochromatic or analagous colors (colors next to each other on the color wheel like blues and greens) because it's safe. I really think a deeper look into color theory would open so many doors for you and your building!!

Whenever I'm putting art in a build, I use the Get to Work mannequins to see what would be a realistic height to make sure it's not too low down or too high up - bonus for working for adult and child sims!
As a claustrophobic man I was screaming on the inside seeing the bathroom and how small it is 😂
I was thinking how with the shower head literally facing the door all the water would sip out to the hall and soak the wood floors

I live in the US, and I find it's common here for a second bathroom, like the bathroom on the second floor might only be accessible through bedrooms (an "ensuite bathroom"). But I've never seen a bathroom like that that is the home's only bathroom. I'm sure it happens sometimes though, I've seen some wonky layouts.
@@ILuvAyeAye true, I don't think it's super common for that to be the house's only bathroom. I've heard of Jack and Jill bathrooms being the only one in apartments, though. I think the ensuite being the only one would probably be more common in places like NYC.

When the windows in apartments glitch there is a trick to fix them. Go to the design tool and click on the window frame :)

This was an amazing apartment! But also, you said a “couple and their 3 kids”, although both of them are female and one is wearing a hijab, and Islam is pretty strict about only marrying the opposite gender. So how does that work? Like, Muslims are even more picky about gender rules than Christians are. So can someone explain please? I don’t understand why a Muslim women is with another woman. However, I know it’s just a game and the main focus is the apartment, so at the end of the day, I love your builds.
it depends on the muslim most are super strict about it but ive met a few queer muslims! not entirely sure how it works since i dont believe in the faith myself but aslong as they are happy i see no issue with it :D
well the person isnt nessecarily muslim, just because they are wearing a headscarf (headscarves are not inherently religious so its possible that they are just wearing one), and there are plenty of queer muslims. as a non muslim it isnt your place to comment on this so id suggest paying more attention to your tone next time.

I really don't understand why have all the packs and not use them.. the builds are so repetitive with mostly the ugliest base game stuff. there are many beautiful furniture pieces in base game alone and so many more in all the different packs.. also why are the builds always with the cheapest appliances?? I mean no hate, but I do think that she could pull off so much more than she is with any of her builds

Hello Kayla. I love your videos and your builds but there's a slight problem with this video. As a Muslim, I noticed that you are using a hijabi woman as your sim which I think is great, but I realized that you also made her be married to another woman, which isn't allowed in Islam. I'm not homophobic, but I just feel like that is disrespectful for hijabis and Muslims in general, especially since the sim is wearing a hijab and she has modest clothing. I know you might not be familiar with our religion but I just wanted to point this out before you get any hate. ❤️

usually put bricks behind the kitchen stove. if i can find the fire resistant stuff, that's what i use in the kitchen lol cause my sims seem to like to light stuff on fire XD
I don’t want to be rude or anything but sometimes it’s annoying to watch Kayla only or mostly use the basegame. There are not many thing in the bg obviously so the houses/apartments always end up looking similar. Idk why Kayla always assumes we only have the basegame :/ most sims players actually have a lot of packs so it really wouldn’t hurt to use more objects from different packs

HELPFUL TIP: you can use the recolor tool on "broken" windows (the ones that break and show the wall behind them). The recolor tool will reset the window and make it able to be seen through again. its very helpful in apartments because you can't click the windows and they break sometimes. Its also nice if you have a window in a specific spot and don't want to pick it up and try and put it in the same spot again - just use the recolor tool to reset the window!
one last thing: I use this tip before saving/uploading a lot to the gallery too - just to make sure everything is in working order.

Just curious: since one of the sims is wearing a .. Hijab? Has their hair covered, i assume they may be muslim. Is there a way to make the apartment more similar to a muslim household? Are there items that muslim simmers would definitely add?
Edit. I've just notice the influx of homophobes in the comments. I'm not muslim, so it's not my place to argue on what they are saying (as if other religions were totally ok with lgbtqia+ people lol), but i can say I guess the lgbtq+ muslim groups i see marching at the local pride parade every year, near my hometown, haven't gotten the memo they are not allowed to exist 😑

It's nice to see Kayla doing an apartment, she has great ideas! I think she should be more secure and not be (or demonstrate being) so afraid to pursue the ideas she has. The idea of use kitchen cabinets to create a TV stand could have worked, the archway in the hall made the space really cozy, it was a good idea. In all the videos I've watched the same happens, really good ideas but insecurity to do it. Be bold Kayla, be brave to do and don't be so afraid! The community will support you.
Also, I think your videos would be much more pleasant to watch if there's not so much complaining about stuff. We get it, the counter pieces have the back, the walls are too high, the colors are not what you wanted, and so on.. I actually do believe that even for you it would be so much more enjoyable without so many complaints. I've heard a lot of times about this and there's one phrase, let me write here: "Never waste a second of your life complaining. Complaining doesn't solve problems, it attracts them. The more you complain, the more problems you'll have. And the more you infect other people with your problems. Don't be an infection. Be a cure." .
This is so true.. when I watched your videos more frequently, I didn't wanted to play, I was discorage to do so. I started watching Syd Mac, for example, and boom! I've started building again and what a pleasure. And one important thing: no h4te! I'm not whining or wanting to make Kayla to feel bad. This is so good advise that I, myself, received couple years ago and helped me a lot.
But after all, I'm just a nobody and Kayla has almost 2M subscribers, go Kayla! Continue to grow and be always a better version of yourself!

I hate how apartments don't let you control the public hallway. Here it's so bad because they never even bothered to put flooring down
I maked a bathroom in 2 tiles. idk how, but funcional😅
I refurbished this apartment a couple weeks ago (or months idk..) and the story line of it was this dad and daughter live in it, the mother died from a sickness and she was a designer. So I furnished it really modern like, but I added some stains and cobwebs to the walls and tables. So it looks a little rundown because the father has been struggling to working two (or more idk) jobs. So he hasn't kept it clean. I told my dad about it and he yelled for my mom to be careful of me lol
I've had such a falling out from the Sims and haven't played for so many years now. Finding your channel has really helped me remember liking playing and I'm going to try to start playing it again. Thank you for making these videos; they're so fun and hilarious.

My guess is she either edited it out when she decided to go limited packs, or (more likely) it's just in there to make the thumbnail cuter.

On the topic of matching swatches-- I wish a lot of the Strangerville build items had solid/neutral swatches. I love so many of the items, but 9 times out of 10 I can't use them because the swatches are weird.

Oh how i wish we could change the front doors and window places 🙈 i know it "messes" the outside but honestly i dont care if it looks wonky (And i know about tool mod but my computer absolutely refuses to run sims 4 with mods)

This was a really good set of packs to work with! I really liked what you did with their items, it was an interesting combination :) I know people keep saying you don't have to build with limited packs but I think you must enjoy the challenge and I certainly enjoy watching it as to me it is much more like my experience of playing the Sims! I don't have university but I understand only having two expansion packs haha. So if you like them, I would always enjoy watching builds with limited packs!
