Honestly, it looks likely to get stuck quite a bit. I'm surprised it doesn't in this video... it totally depends on one block moving back for the next, but I just don't see that happening correctly every time.

Ingenious design! But a question: you use 15 wood slats for the day numbers, for a total of 30 sides. How do you display day 31? Or did I miss something?
I'd imagine you would just have a blank tile. All you do is just flip it past....

Timothy Mueller think about one tile having a side which says „30/31“. that’s one part, you have to stay on for a day or to skip when you have a month witch just 30 days. :)
It can handle up to 32 days a month. It works with an overhead.
But for this to work you need uneven number of tiles, witch means that number of symbols in one module can be 2, 6, 10, 14, 18, 22, 26, 30, 34, and so on. You would need blank spaces to turn at the end of each cycle.
30 and 31 are the same tile i think. like 30/31
@@tritian5874 Oh yes, which is similar to what is done on some paper calendars so as not to have to add a fifth row. I've seen some paper calendars where the last week of the month has Sunday as 24/31.

I really like this concept/design.
A single improvement I would recommend, is to place the day on the top left, and the month on the bottom left, giving your finger a better access to flip the day over. But this may make the calendar top heavy, for which I would add weight under the base (carved out).

shams because you will pick up your phone to look at the calendar and then get distracted by Facebook, and Instagram, and text messages and emails, etc when all you wanted to do was look at the calendar. This video will actually save you from distraction and time! 🤗

The amount of numbers is always 31, so at the end of a normal February you have to flip past 29, 30 and 31 to get to March 1. On a leap year you just flip again and then the next day (March 1) you have to flip past 30 and 31 to get to March 1

this is a good video to see the basics for this project! can customize the sliding panels by routing/carving in the numbers and painting them. I would suggest not using such thin dowels as the pivot points though, they will get a lot of the wear and tear, and the ones used here might break.
