      @@rockinggator969 will do growing up in Texas I had to love Southern Rock from the Allman brothers to Lynyrd Skynyrd to .38 Special my wife and I have been to the swamps of Mississippi where that plane went down in . 77 something to see now one thing stuck out they were all under the age of 30 they must have felt invincible.

      well the song is downtuned, but would be for many singers this age difficult to sing, he s doing very well nevertheless, his tone is still strong and consistent,

    I seen them live last fall and their coming around again next Friday night. I can't wait to see them again. It was one hit after another and they sounded great! Don and his band were fantastic!

      Mr. Donnie Van Zant , the younger brother of Lynyrd Skynyrd co-founder, retired due to hearing and health concerns.

      No disrespect to Mr. Van Zant but Mr. Barnes is and always will be 38 Special.

      It's really the two of them together that built the band. It's too bad Donnie Van Zandt had to quit. We are lucky that Don Barnes is still carrying the torch.
