Be right back, looking into the OSRS attack accuracy formulas
So the first thing you need to find is each players attack and defence values.
These are found with the formula Effective Level x (Equipment bonus + 64)
Rargh's attack value is (99 * 1.2 +8) * (60 + 64) = 15723
Rargh's defense value is (99 +8) * (103 + 64) = 17869 (or about 25% higher if the prayer flick lines up)
Link's attack value is (99 * 1.2 + 8) * (29 + 64) = 11792
Link's defense value is (99 * 1.25 + 8) * (180 + 64) = 32147
Since the attack value is less than the defense value, we then use this formula
Accuracy = 0.5 * attack / defense
*So Rargh's accuracy should be 24.4%*
*And Link's accuracy should be 32.9% (26.8% if Rargh's prayer flick lines up)*
BUT--the MSB is a 3 tick weapon, the scimitar is 4 tick. Rargh makes 33% more attacks, and if you include that his "accuracy" becomes 32.5%.
And since the MSB is a 3 tick weapon, Rargh's prayer should be up at least 1/3 of the time, which lowers Link's accuracy.
*Put it all together and yeah, Rargh should have been hitting more.*
While we're here, let's look at their food.
Rargh had 28 sharks for 560 healing, +99hp = 659 hp
Link had 20 sharks, 7 lobsters for 484 healing, +99hp = 583 hp
Rargh had 13% more health

Or you could've put each player's setup in DPS calculator and find the result in like 5 minutes. By my quick meander Rargh had 25,17% accuracy and 1,12 DPS (24,12% and 1,27 if both prayed all the time), Link had 31,34% accuracy and 1,04 DPS (30,02% and 1,00 with both praying).
Link should hit more, Rargh had more DPS but not by that much.

Thank you very much for this. It helps understanding the outcome a lot more, and how even they actually were. I still believe if they did this exact setup and fight again, Link would’ve won. Still, they were more evenly matched than I thought.
You're forgetting that Link had a prayer potion which let him use piety the entire fight which is a huge deal considering his already ridiculous range defense.
Auction off cities and earn your set ups through that. (Obviously tweak the idea a little to fit)

Potential idea, I really liked the “Silent Auction” format you’ve used in the past, maybe you could auction “chunks” with certain amounts of time attached to it. Eg: 12 Min Lumbridge chunk.
Any money after the auction can be used in shops!

@@Bownerator Some people just dont like quests and stuff, I dont understand it. I got membership, got a quest cape in 4-5 months, and then didnt play for a year because there was nothing else I wanted to do, but I hear people complain about having to do quests all the time.
@@michael_betts im one of those people. No diaries done, under 200 quest points, mostly just do slayer... In my defense i play mobile only.. When i get a computer i will do much more questing and diaries

I'm actually super surprised by the winner on this one. MSB is definitely a cut above an addy scim but with such a high ranged defense from the granite shield and full plate I never expected that kind of accuracy. Goes to show just how busted ranged really is in PVP, especially when melee is technically supposed to 'beat' it in the combat triangle.
Their PvP series has shown so many times how overpowered range is compared to equivalent melee gear
I was thinking this but looking at the stats it's
60(edited from 88 ty Roskal) range attack vs 180 range def (1:3)
compared to
29 slash vs 108 slash def (1:3.72)
So it doesn't seem so unreasonable that the range was more effective (I know it doesn't work exactly like this because you have melee strength bonus but you see what I mean)
@@newtoto6552 you're right. The problem is that ranged accuracy *can* be so high while using melee armour. Tbh RS3 completely solved this problem.

Been member so long he forgot maple short bow and addy arrows would keep up against a full rune boi.
not to mention the accuracy difference between msb and addy scim. Addy scim is so inaccurate against halfway decent armor + defense level
There is a reason msb is a pvp weapon and addy scim is not after all. Addy is so trash compared to rune it's not even funny. Without changing armor, pretty sure you needed rune to win this. If Rargh had rune arrows, you'd need a dragon scim. That's just how strong msb is
@@IronBrisingr Yeah like I said above, Addy melee weapons have such god awful accuracy.
(Scim was what? 29 Slash?) While Rargh had still 62 range bonus in full melee armor, and 25% more dps because of 3 tick rapid.
Also addy arrows have 3 higher strength than the scimitar.
I was fairly confident that Rargh had it in the bag from the start. MSB+ decent arrows can shred rune, let alone addy + granite shield.
Linksocarina: theres no anvil in falador. (*thinks back 10 years* theres an anvil under falador near the old pickaxe shop where the dwarfs are past the scorpions x D).

you guys really need to get your mining/smithing up, addy equipment is so garbage; especially in situations like this where the other person can have an msb
They really need to get their accounts maxed. I get that the challenges and editing takes time but they could afk a few of their skills on mobile while they do the editing and uploading.

Went on vacation to Iceland a while back and there was barely any trees there. Went on a tour bus and the driver said the reason is that back in the day the vikings cut down and used almost all of them for boats and houses and stuff. Could just be an urban legend, but could explain the lack of trees in Rellekka

When I first started playing years ago, I didn't know about the anvil in Varrock so I used the one in the Dwarven mines. I could never forget that terrible run

PSA: Talk to the ranged instructor in Lumbridge to set it so that when you pick up ammo, it goes back into your quiver instead of your inventory. Great episode, would love to see more like this again. Definitely reminiscent of Season 1

You guys should assign a random number to bosses and do random number generator to kill a total of 30 bosses; like 5-7 of each boss. Use what you get to fight each other. OR use what you get, sell to the GE and buy a PK setup.
It’s sort of like boss slayer where it’s a random boss monster.
It is a rather interesting attention to detail about there being very few trees on the fremennik isles, because when the vikings came to Iceland they rapidly deforested the entire island.
That "annoying buzzer sound" is my alarm sound cause then I wake up thinking of these 2 absolute legends and it reminds me to go out there and get it

Everyone starts off with keys to chests (Larran's, crystal, muddy, etc). Can have everyone have a set number of each key, or you can spin the wheel to determine however many of each.
Another potential idea, you guys each get two prayer potions and have to use prayer the entire time. (Probably use prayer boosting gear.) You can fight whatever you want, but as soon as you guys run out of prayer, it’s time to fight with whatever happened to drop.
You could buy the witchwood icon from the slayer slot to fill the neck slot. +1 prayer

New challenge idea: You can't tp, start at lummy and have to kill at least one of any monster that shows up on your screen, you can go anywhere but the first item that drops for a slot is locked in, so you fight with that item. When you have an item for each slot you fight. (Can have up to two melee and a ranged weapon, though you might not get compatible ammo) This applies to food as well. If a cabbage gets dropped from a goblin you have to bring that to the fight (takes up a "food slot")

For a challenge idea, how about you get a set amount of money, 10k-100k-1mil, and for each bracket you just have like 20 mins to buy gear off the grand exchange. Would be interesting seeing the mindgames you can play, trying to guess the other ones setup and using weird gear that is uncommon but cheap

You both should change the initial gear to the rune axe, pick, 250gp, and a single stamina pot. It would make a lot of sense for all the challenges that involve lots of running around.

Rargh is starting to have an English accent on certain words, kind of interesting but not shocking seeing how much Link and Rargh talk together
Challenge idea: start from scratch, 3 hours to gear up with quest/untradeable equipment (no reversible untradeables, eg. imbues, ornament kits, granite clamp). Can make/buy gear and tools to help you get the final items, but can't use them in the fight. 28 swordfish provided.
I want to see more unusual setups for a change instead of the common addy/rune/d'hide armour.
Blisterwood flail vs. crystal bow?
Darklight vs. blurite crossbow?
Barrelchest anchor vs. Iban's staff?

Combat triangle is more of a combat line:
Ranged > magic > melee
To be fair though: msb is a 50 ranged weapon that’s roughly equivalent to a 60 attack weapon. Addy scim is 30 attack weapon.
It's rapid mode that really makes it OP

Well at least they kept the combat "triangle" the same as rs2s right? Range is the best, the end 😂. The only way I see a full melee setup being better than a full range setup is if range is rocking 0 tank hides and the meleer is in beastly tank with a damn good weapon.

Have 2 known PKers ( example Framed and Torvesta ) train you separately for 1 hour. (If Framed trains link he can't train Rargh and vise versa) Then you fight in the gear they set up for you.

You should do challenge where you spin a wheel to location and then spin for what kinda bars you can make etc.. And then spin like 3 items of final gear to swap with each other
