I want to do something similar for my 5' x 10' cargo trailer where I haul band sound and lighting equipment. Thanks for the video. This will be really helpful.
Great use of space and much less expensive than commercial shelving. Would also imagine that with the additional bracing you installed it will also help with the structural integrity of the nose of your trailer. Thanks for posting - now come on by and help me get mine in 🤣
Nothing in these trailers are level, or square. You have to choose to come from the floor up (what do) or the ceiling down. Since they are made for cargo and not camping (again, what I do), you have to make the best of it.
Sheesh dude would be about 10x stronger if you fastened to the metal studs. I’d be surprised if that’s holding up under any amount of weight. Good for you if it is.
awesome clip, no bs straight talk and very helpful in my 6x10 build out, answered alot of my building questions for sure.

Very informative nice build brother!

Absolutely I can do that 👍👍
Really nice shelves man
I want to do the same thing on my trailer but i don't have the time
Good job 👍
Thanks!
great video. thanks for sharing.
Great job!! Very thorough.
Nice job!
Freaking awesome!
Nice job
Great job thank you for tips
Thank you.
So with this you don’t have to worry about hitting a stud ?
Yes. You do. I can't believe he didn't. It will not last just being screwed to plywood.
Thank you! Could you put the wall brackets under the 2x4’s also, instead of on the side?
Yes. Just preference really.
Great video ! Since the walls are 3/8” thick how sturdy are the brackets holding? Any issues with weight once the shelves are completed?
I have about 100 pounds on each shelf and have put about 500 miles on the trailer with no issues. Im pretty happy with it.
Do not put them just in the plywood. Not going to last. Get them in the metal supports with self tappers
Great! But did u consider all that extra weight? Especially with full totes?
Yes I did. No problems at all with what I was carrying.
I am doing mine within the enxt week, but Im gonna use simpson ties in the metal wall framing and use self tappers to hold the simpson ties
Wouldn’t using 2x2’s be a bit cheaper than using 2x4’s? Also a bit lighter? Meanwhile keeping the same rigidity?
Why didn't use 2x4 joist hangers would be a lot stronger ?
That's what I do.
What if the ceiling brackets your measuring down from arent level? 😳

What kind of screws did you use to fasten
To the aluminum
It’s wood. You should not be going into aluminum.
Shouldn’t you screw into metal tubing of trailer
Yes, please don't do what this guy in the video did. He has no idea what he's doing.
Theres no problem with how these shelves are mounted. I’ve got over 200 pounds sitting on these currently with zero issue. Thanks for commenting!
Yes you should!

👍
I’d maybe set a 360 laser level up save some headache
Intro song?
Do you know your material list?
1 sheet of plywood. 4 8' 2x4s. Screws. Brackets.
Why didn’t you just take a 2 x 4 and lay it sideways and screw it to the wall instead of using those brackets and stuff seems like a lot of extra work
Why can't you just measure from the floor which should be level?
You can. Floor or ceiling
Ceiling and floors were not level in the trailer.
Just measure up from the floor would be easier
Build a shed
Cool story bro.
bad choice of hardware ... it's very weak structure wise ... E-trak brakets would have been a solid build ! much better choice
Your using the wrong brackets. Should have used hanger brackets. It won’t hold any weight. Hopefully your loading paper towels on that pos.
You sir are what we call a hater. Over 200 pounds to date STILL sitting on both shelves. No problems. Thanks for commenting and boosting my stats!
@@diydozier3205 no I’m not a hater. But I’m glad it’s working for you.👍

Wrong brackets is correct
