- I quite like these guys, especially when they do their 80's inspired track, which they seem to have a knack for. A friend of ours introduced me to their track 'She's American' years ago, and ever since I've carefully listening out for what they come out with (thanks Jason!). A lot of their stuff doesn't quite hit me but a track like this I love. Plenty of cool guitar work going on already so I thought I'd try to bring it out a bit more and add a couple of other parts too.
'Leppardized' is my way of adding interesting guitar parts to a song that has little to no guitar in it, in an attempt to make it more like the Hysteria era of Def Leppard. Although really it is just an excuse for me to play over pop. :)

I use a Charvel DK24 (it's purple) into a Boss Me50 into a Palmer Pdi-09 into a Focusrite Scarlett into my computer running Logic Pro X.

I've never heard of the 1975, but I'm in the states. I checked them out on google and they do sound like def leppard. But your right, theres no good guitar in it, I do like your version much better then the original. I've watched yours over n over.
Thanks, I don’t think they sound like Def Leppard but they have a knack of making decent pop songs with an 80’s aesthetic and production which I like.

Hey my friend … I’ve been loving your channel for years now, especially your Leppardized covers.
I’m 45 and American so I had literally never heard of The 1975 until you covered this, and I loved it. And then I find out my 16 year old daughter is a big fan of The 1975.
So, for her birthday I took her to see them in New Orleans last night and we had the best time. The show was so good and it was only her 2nd concert ever (after Taylor Swift) and it was so special to see her so free and singing every word. Her mom left us last year, she moved 2000 miles across the country and left me to raise my daughter and two sons.
I’m sorry if I’m gushing and being a dorky dad, but I wanted to say thank you for all you do and tell you how talented you are and thank you for playing a part in me having one of the best nights with my daughter in a really long time.

The 1975 is a fantastic alt rock group!! Usually on heavy rotation. Somebody Else is very good. Love If If We Made It also great. Good choice to cover Ben. Love all of your guitar work! Almost could have used the Leppardization touch.

A number of tracks by The 1975 naturally fit your style of being Leppardized. They already have great guitar parts, but almost all are clean. That leaves a perfect space for something with some overdrive, which you fill perfectly. If you haven’t heard it, I wonder what you might be able to do on a song like Heart Out, although I agree It's Not Living is probably the best fit. Keep it up!
Another amazing leppardized cover. Also love the improv guitar solo you added to it as well. Totally fits the vibe of the song. It’s also my favorite song from these guys. I admit I’m not the most familiar with their stuff but it’s tracks like this that grab my attention.

hi friend, I'm new here and I'm impressed on how you improvised those guitar parts at the end, and I'm also interested on how you set your distortion tone, your tone is a marvelously gorgeous for me mind if I ask on how do you set your distortion?
Thanks! I use a compressor with my distortion which means I can have my gain set lower and more clean but still have good sustain because of the compressor.

Yeah it’s really a pretty brilliant song when you parse the lyrics. It’s about the lead singer’s addiction. Upbeat music with dark lyrical content about addiction. Third Eye Blind style.
