@@Immersaholic it isn't, but it still works. I thought of the idea when you showcased the 'Aquatanian Roman' legions in dei. The Spartacus mod has similar unit types throughout Lusitania and other spots on the map for the time period and for the "rebel" Roman in Spain.
Alaudae. In Latin, the U is sometimes shown as a V. And I believe the helmets are montefortino for the Marian and the Gallic type c coolus for the Imperial.
Who knows? ;) Although... I do know that there is a new Roman Campaign being released in the next DeI update, the civil war of Marius VS Sulla.. I could see this mod being handy there ;)
Nice video ! Thank you. If this mod wants to be more realistic he should keep the number of legionaries at 160 (like in Vanilia), why ? Because each "manipule" you can select is formed by 2 centuries. 1 centurie is 80 legionaries so 1 manipule should be with 160 legionaries and not 200 like in this mod. An finally a Cohort is about 480 and not only 400 ;-) And if you read Tite-Live, Pullo was also a centurion (like Vorenus) not a simple legionarie (like in HBO). They both really exist and fought under Cesar legions
I think the numbers were more so balanced to be in line with the DeI units so that they can fit into the gameplay better. Although there are mods that accomplish what you said. Thanks for the info about the real life characters! Interesting!
The 200 man units also cause big issues for amphibious landings, because the units will not fit on the ships, you will find hundreds of AI units stuck under the ground occupying the same spot, and the rest of the units on land try to move past your troops trying to reunited with these buried units.
Lucius Vorenus and Titus Pullo weren't just from the Rome TV show, they were mentioned by name in Ceaser's "Commentaries on the Gallic Wars" Book 5 Chapter 44. There is some debate as to whether they were real or a narrative device, as Ceasar was writing as propaganda to the people of Rome and their tale is a bit of a trope in Roman stories. It might have happened and been a convenient event to tell Rome about that they would resonate with, it might just be made up to show the bravery and strength of his legions in Gaul. I think probably real.
