If you want to hear some of my original music you can go here. I need to get back to recording. I did this in my bedroom, all instrument and vocal i did myself in one or two takes. It's really just sketches of song. Todd

Thanks for watching the video Frankie Goes To Hollywood - Welcome To The Pleasuredome (Live 2004) - First Listen/Reaction
Mark O'Toole on the bass is an absolute BEAST on this. Both the SOUND and the PLAYING are off the charts.
Another great, great group from Liverpool.
I wonder if this is the event to celebrate Trevor Horn (Yes, Buggles, producer) 25 years in music, he had produced the big hits of FGTH. Holly Johnson, the original lead singer, is missing here. This live performance is impressive. Another big hit was Two Tribes, with videoclip made by Godley and Creme (former 10CC) with actors portraying Gorbatsjov and Reagan.
Oh yeah, I do remember Two Tribes
Lol Creme was actually playing guitar on this night - can be spotted next to Trevor on a few of the songs.
Yes, it is. You can buy the whole Trevor Horn concert. Very strongly recommend it. So many excellent bands, and it has spectacular sound. It is titled "Slaves To The Rhythm".
Yep it was. I was there.
My favourite is The Power Of Love, released as a Christmas song. It had inspiring vocals.
Frankie said relax
Todd forgot to read my email again - this is the band's first live performance in 18 years, and it was at the Trevor Horn Wembley gig in 2004.
Lead singer Holly Johnson had a long standing spat with Trevor and refused to appear, so two weeks before the show, they did an open audition for lead singer, and Ryan here won.
This is his very first live performance with the band, and what a shift he put in - they also played Relax and Two Tribes, and were sensational.
As you can see, Steve Howe from Yes joined them on slide guitar for this track.
It was a memorable night, and that bass line was amazing in the arena.
I literally read it on this reaction video.
@@MusicWithToddLedbetter I saw at the end 🤣🤣😁👍
This isn't Holly Johnson the original lead singer, not the same but still does a good job.
Unbelievable - YT deleted my link to the auditions already!!
OK - here on YT the link is titled - Casting 2004 - Frankie Goes To Hollywood and is about 17 minutes long.
Absolutely hilarious in places, but exceptionally informative - well worth your time.
Some top drawer sessioners on stage that night... Steven Lipson, Steve Howe, Phil Palmer, Horn himself, the Astari Strings, Louis Jardim.... world class players.
In a quick reference to the audition link previously - I think Trevor really enjoyed the guy doing the John Cleese silly walk 🤣🤣
Edit: link deleted by YT.
Franky is in reference to Frank Sinatra as the name was taken from a newspaper headline about Frank Sinatra's first roll in a Hollywood movie.
If god was a bass player this is how it would sound.
That's without the original vocalist Holly Johnson isn't it though. You should really listen to the original 1984 version.
Here’s the original line up that reformed last year for the first time in 38 years ruclips.net/video/h1NuGgSZ7DY/видео.htmlsi=v1HP1_JOGgCdzU3v
That singer didn't make this song any favors. He did a good job but his voice just isn't on the level that Holly's voice is/was. Ryan's like a brighter nasal sound-alike version. Oh well, FGTH made some timeless songs in the 80'ies.
I whole heartedly AGREE HOLLYS voice made FGH.
One of the many FGH bangers.
Well I was there, Ryan was picked by band members and Trevor Horn, because Holly Johnson wanted to let down 10,000 people less than two weeks before the show.
Nice guy
Just as well the others didn't want to let down the crowd and the charity this gig was in aid of.
And Trevor and Paul Rutherford were so impressed by him, that their slot was upgraded from mid show to show closer, because as Trevor Horn was quoted as saying " no one else will be good enough to follow that"
Quite right too.
I know one thing for sure - nobody there that night missed Holly at all.
Liten to Two Tribes
Sorry but you need to listen to the original with Holly Johnson
AS A BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF FRANKIE GOES TO HOLLYWOOD YOU MUST DO TWO TRIBES I GUARANTEE YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.
I've heard it many times. I just didn't remember it during this reaction.
Original singer was MUCH better!
I don’t know who that woman singer is. Was a man singer originally.he sounds much better
only Holly Johnson should sing this song this must be banned from any kind of media
Yes Holly is much better singer
if he wasnt such a dick, he would have been there, he was better , but this guy did a good performance, the band was amazing
