correct. You’d probably have to have an on off switch because by it being connected Internally when the lights go on they go on together with the DRLs/ demons. The car acts as the only power switch.
Nice video and advices. I want to change by the original DLR module and I´m looking for the reference number of each one to request for it in a scrapping or replacement store. Do you know the DLR reference?
Just curious.. Since the boards are attached to heat sync, shouldn't you use thermal paste instead of jb weld? Seems like you'd need thermal conductive paste in order for heat sync to work.
Hey Zach. You sure can use some form of Thermal Paste glue. JB quick well has done great u see tests since the heatsinks don’t really get that hot. Plus we supply an external heat sink in the kit for the lights as well.
The only positive is it’s all integrated in the light. If you sell your lights the person buying them doesn’t have to wire anything. Also since you’re taking the lights apart anyway to install the kit it just makes sense to do it all internally.
How about how it works? I mean.....if you take power from the battery terminal, would it not mean I have to turn it on and off manually? Whereas pin 10 should supply power only when the headlights are put on. Is my assumption correct?
I would extremely appreciate if you could tell me how different this process is on the B9 (2016+) Generation LED Headlights. Looking to install this third party module! Thanks
thats so interesting, but two questions before purchase, as i see the new drl boards are connected to 12v of key ignition, but what happens when i light on low beam lights?? it seems drl not dim and shine too much at night??? and what about error code for not connect original drl boards??
The best way and correct way to connect the DRL Kit is on the inside how the video shows. This way you avoid having power drainage from connecting it to an external power source. You want the DRL to turn on when you car starts like the OEM way and installing it on the inside in pins 9and 10 achieve this. This also avoids error codes. The kit basically acts like the OEM DRL PCB boards. The amount of light output from the DRLs can be controlled via OBD2 app or a vag-com. Some people max out the DRL while others run it conservatively at 40% output level
@@motiongate thanks for the quick response ;) but correct me if i am wrong, the drl strip always will shine at his maximum even when low beam lights are on? because its always powered and not dimmed (alrhought maybe is dimmed via app, but it seems a..little bit crippy task)
@@joaquintorresabad1625 correct. The DRLs never dim. They stay at the constant brightness level they’re set at. For example most of the time the stock setting I believe is at 24%. Depending on if your DRLs are getting old and burning out they could look more dim. I’d you change the setting on a vag-com or odb2 tool then it can be raised to a higher brightness
@@motiongate thanks , now this part its clear, another doubt is referent to the turn signal, its possible to shine only drl strip in orange without the oem bulb and no error? cause it would look too much better without it, i see in your video you put a led bulb, but it would look like more modern without that light
@@joaquintorresabad1625 unfortunately there is no way of just shining the DRL light as an amber turn signal unless you do some major reworking. We don’t do that work. Not even sure how you would set that up without it causing an error. What you can do is get the LED turn signal bulb and when it flashes, it will match the timing with the DRL so it flashes in sync.
Redi Hoxha I would check the power on the Bluetooth controller first. See if that is working. Switch the wires from one side of the light to the other side of the light and see if the problem moves with the wires. Then the wires might need to be fixed.
We don’t sell fully built lights yet but we will have a set of b8.5 a5/s5/rs5 and a4/s4 soon. Probably in a few weeks. All full builds will ship from the US
Not sure what your asking but we use JB KwikWeld as the “Glue” it’s made for high heat applications. It’s a fast setting epoxy that provides a permanent bond between the PCB board and the external heat sink.
I want too see the light🙄
we post photos of how they look on our instagram all the time. @b8drivers
correct. You’d probably have to have an on off switch because by it being connected Internally when the lights go on they go on together with the DRLs/ demons. The car acts as the only power switch.
Is this the same for the a5
The 2013-2016 facelift a5 yes. For info email us at info@b8drivers.com
Do you have any set up for 2007 a5 b8 pre facelift

Very nice, great instructions.. no after demo though? Tutut.
What are the positives of wiring it into pin 10 vs the positive battery terminal?

I see that the video says its available for the b8 and b8.5. i am wondering where i can purchase the b8 version? The website only shows for b8.5
Not available for B8
Hi
I saw icedrive on aliexpress . Is there any way that i can use plug and play . Audi a4 b9 2017
The icedrive kit is totally different. It’s also not made that great. Not bright at all. Not sure if it would work on a B9.
@@motiongate is there anything just plug and play. Remove the original drl module and install these??
where i can buy those for audi a4 b8.5?
Link I the description of the video
What size resistors are required?
They small 40W 7.5Ω they come in the kit
I would extremely appreciate if you could tell me how different this process is on the B9 (2016+) Generation LED Headlights. Looking to install this third party module! Thanks
Not sure we havent installed this on a B9 This kit is soley for B8.5 Models A4/S4 /A5/S5

Could these chips work in the vland Mitsubishi lancer headlights
Hey.they won’t. The boards are set up different in those lights.

@@dexterlemaitre1172 not sure as we don’t do Mitsu lights. I’d look into morimoto or maybe diode dynamics

I have problems with left drl of audi a4 2013...don't switch on. What should I do?
Redi Hoxha I’m not sure how you wired it up but I’d check the power going into that light. It could be something as simple as that.
B8 Drivers I should take off headlight glass?

Would this work for Audi Q5?
This color RGB won’t work for a q5 unfortunately. Sorry about that.
Were can i purchase these? As the website appears to be down under construction?

Hi guys how much do you charge for these light conversions?
It really depends what you want done. There are different options. Email is at info@b8drivers.com and we can set you up with a quote.
Bro, I watch that whole thing you didn’t show the finish product at the end?!?!
Dann you cant just pur the finished light as a Thumbnail and then never show it Running in the Video :(((
seriously,,, wtf?
Where is your location
How long does the installation take?
If we install it, it takes about 2 weeks
Are they error free...?
Ciprian Bogdan yup they are
thats not glue thats thermal paste for transfering heat from led to heatsink..... you just glued it ... .

Are this street legal? (Europe)
Not sure. Best would be to check with local laws.
This seems very complicated. Can’t you just change bulbs?
Ridiculous
