As far as "supporting" your videos - they are the reason I have purchased your lesson programs over the years. If I could go back and start over I would weed out almost all of the other programs I have spent time on and done my learning thru your stuff. Thanks again for your YT videos - I think they probably pay off for you in the long run.
Great lesson! Would love to see yo do a lesson on some of the diads and triads that you can use to embellish a pentatonic solo. I always enjoy a solo that has a few chords in it.
Great work !!! Funny memory...i'm hanging out at a neighbors house who played with another guy who was a better player than both of us. We're watching the new VHS of The Jimi Hendrix movie. Gets to Buddy Miles and "Machine Gun". second cycle of the rat a tat tat solo has slayed me since Band Of Gypsys was a gift when i was 13 in '70. For me, best solo ever recorded. I ask my friend "What IS That??" "Sounds like the Blues scale" . Maybe right,,,simplistic, though.
Thanks Corey! Love following your videos and your courses on Trufire are really helping! I finally feel like I'm learning great after all these years and I enjoy putting the work in with your guidance.
Both of these lessons are super helpful to me. Just having all of the pentatonic patterns together and now with the blue note added in really helps me get a start on this. The connecting line is great to see how to move from one part of the next to the other too. I always wondered about that when watching guitar players.
Corey, your lessons are always so direct and to the point. Your playing is always so great! Thanks for these videos. Also, I notice that sometimes you move your pinky next to your ring finger reminding me of Robben Ford.
Corey, I appreciate your videos. This one helped me a ton. Can you please make one that shows how the pentatonic scale lives in the modes and how to use it? I also like another lesson on what to solo over a progression as the chords change. Please keep them coming.
killer teacher and player! Great channel! Just a suggestion could you teach the amount of time u have in the measure before it comes to the next chord .. Thanks
Thank you so much for putting these videos out for us. You’re really helping to demystify the pentatonic positions and making it possible for beginners to begin learning lead. Do you have any suggestions for getting better at playing 7th chords?
Always funny how in pentatonic type scales the intervals are always numbered after the 7 tone major scale. The "5" is the fourth note. So pentatonic is the major scale without notes 4 and 7. 4 and 7 make the tritone. Ironically, in blues we omit the natural tritone and then add a tritone to every chord by playing dominant 7s.
Great lesson, short and sweet. The b5 note also shows up in all kinds of rock songs that are not particularly bluesy -- for example, the main riff here, where it's used as a passing tone between the 5th and 4th: ruclips.net/video/Tfpn3wHoNGA/видео.html
When I was telling my cousin what a blues scale was I said, like everyone does, its the 5-note pentatonic scale. Then I played just the 5 notes and thought, wait, this aint no `blues scale` Maybe the `blues scale` must be more than the just the 5 prescribed notes. I know, the `blues notes` are implied, ya, but it aint no `5-note` scale, technically. Its really a partial chromatic scale isn't it?
Pentatonic=5 and, some call the Blues Scale...wait for it...Hexatonic! I don’t like too many names as I mention in the vid but, feel free to use them! Good comment!

Good company. Thank you.
Everytime I see that pelham blue SG I have to click the play button regardless of being interested in the topic or not 😆😆
He's definitely got some beautiful guitars but this one is probably my favorite too! I just love the look and sound of it.
I LIKE YOUR ATTITUDE
Appreciate that!
EXCELLENT LESSON COREY!!! sorry for yelling... but this was my best lesson EVER and I'm 70... thank you so much.
Haha! That’s awesome to hear. Thx so much!

hey thx so much!
I see a TON of links but not to the previous lesson that you mention at the beginning of this vid.
Thank you so much for putting these videos out for us. You’re really helping to demystify the pentatonic positions and making it possible for beginners to begin learning lead. Do you have any suggestions for getting better at playing 7th chords?
Glad you enjoy! I have a few courses that deal with 7th chords. Check my website out!
Hi Great lesson as always..Love the SG with that bridge..if u have a sec. what year was it..never seen one that I remember..Thanks...Dave
This video will tell ya! ruclips.net/video/h-BgWY2mJKA/видео.html
wow! the blues light just came on, thx. Do you have a vid on getting that tone/gain/grit?
Sweet! Glad to hear it
Hey Cory, what year/model/color SG is that you're playing? Love it, sounds great!
1964 junior that has been converted. You’ll live tomorrow’s video as it’s all about this guitar!
Pelham blue refin btw
Bet you didn't think I'd notice that the Two Rock Blue Power Indicator was fixed? No way Corey. Now I can concentrate. Excellent lesson too. Thanks~!
😂just got you buddy! Actually, I think it’s because I’m further away...I don’t want anyone to lose their concentration!
@@coreycongilio So it's an optical illusion. Geez, my eyes...
I love it when my creepy little friend shows up at the pentatonic party.

In the words of Alanis Morisette...isn’t it ironic?
When i hear that SG sound, i want a beer.
🍻
so if i want to add it to major pentatonic, its 2# right?
I'm sorry but, I don't quite understand the question. Happy to help though.
Yanni plays the guitar too. Nice
Have you heard my atmospheric blues albums. They're playing in doctor's offices and elevators world wide!

Link to the TABS and Track don’t work
Thx. Haven’t updated this one yet. I’ll have it later today. Please check back!

Nice Bro! Can you sing to?
I sing as well!
why not "sharp 4' ?
We rarely ever call a chord a #4 and the b5 is synonymous with altered chords like a 7b5 etc. I try to keep apples with apples!
Was it my comment on the blue note?
Haha yep, pretty sure! It was on my list of videos to make too so, great timing!
