i am fortunate to have five of my grandfathers case knives. they have to be close to 100 or maybe more years old. i carry one everyday in my right pocket. all are in excellent condition and i have never found the need to sharpen them. yes they get used . he was a carriage maker and kept all of his tools wicked sharp, he died at 98 some time in the 1990s and i still miss him
Wow, that is awesome Ned. Nice to have them for sure. What a great keepsake, that is. Those old Case knives are very collectible. Thanks for the info, and have a great week.
Loved this! My dad got me a case for my first pocket knife, which I promptly lost after a few months or so...totally irresponsible kid I was. Whoever thinks about pulling a package of sausage out of your pocket and to end the video being snapped in a bear trap? Just too funny, aside from your expert showing of your knife, your video made my day...really made me laugh in parts, thank you for this video!
Wow, thank you, Steve! It was fun to make, and I'm glad you enjoyed it 👍🍻. Back when I was 8 or so, my dad gave me a few amazing knives. One was a switch blade. Lost them all as well 😆
I have many Case knives alot of different patterns and the Medium Stockman is by far my favorite pattern , I carry it daily in a leather slip just like you I couldn’t be happier. Each blade serves a practical purpose. The serpentine shape is just out of this world in terms of looks and ergonomics go. I carry a purple Barnboard bone jig Medium Stockman as my EDC and have a lot of memories with it already! Great video
I love the yellow delrin handles on pocket knives. Case, Schrade, even Rough Ryder (surprisingly good knives) look good in yellow. Stockmen, Trappers, Toothpicks...makes no nevermind.
Informative and entertaining video...Keep um coming. Can't believe how many times I passed through Bradford Pennsylvania and never dropped in on the Case/ Zippo museum :{
Your right about it having yrs left i have the same knife ive been carring about 13 yrs aint much left of the drop point blade but have not intensions of replacing it any time soon great video
Outstanding + the harmonica & sardines! Love the Case CV line... It's not about having "the" perfect knife; but having a great knife in your pocket, room, drawer, car, trunk, kit, bag, backpack, etc.
I prefer Case knives with what they used to call CV (chrome vanadium) rather than their SS. I don’t know when they made the change but nowadays case calls it CS (carbon steel) I like the patina they develop. Thanks for the video👍🏻
Hey! I recognize you from STDCG! Just subscribed…I love slip joints and I carry a red bone Case medium stockman with carbon steel blades. Stockman is my favorite pattern for sure. I’d like to find a congress but I’m at the mercy of Canadian Tire lol. But yeah man Case medium stockman is a great pocket knife!
Case are hit and miss on quality for some time now, but it looks like you landed a gem. If you’re happy with this one avoid GEC. They’re on a different level and difficult to get they go so fast. Love traditional knives. All the men in my family carried them and I’m happy to see younger people enjoying them too.
@@JimmyMeatwhistle by the way, i just finished watching your video. Great video. Love the aesthetics , the crispy quality of the video, the music , OBVIOUSLY THE KNIFE 😂
Glad you got actual use out of your knife and dont buy enough to justify a pelican case oe whatever the loonies do. Unfortunately for case theie QC has major issues, having bought 2 case stockmans in a row with god-awful turnouts im extremely hesitant to try again Especially with the prices they are asking for now. I heard someone say they produce hundreds of thousands of knives a day so thats why their QC is inconsistent. If thats the case (🎉) they need to slow down, aint nobody buying that many case knives. Anyway cheers
I know this isn’t important but it’s better to close the knife gently rather than to snap it shut. Snapping the blade close can dull out the blade because the edge slams into the spring on the inside.

Thanks, buddy! 🍺👍. That would definitely be a cool tour. Maybe when you go back East in the spring, you can check it out.
If I could find a slip as nice as that one I’d buy it in a heartbeat
I gave this a like just for that awesome floss hack!

You can't ever have too many knives, guns, or bullets.
Love hem both,i love those Fischer pens, nice case.
I want an old case but haven’t figured out what models or years to specify in my search to make sure I get one that’s well made
Great video and knife.
Thanks, my friend! Much appreciated 🍻🍻
Nice soddy also.

Hi, I made it.
@@JimmyMeatwhistleThat’s awesome!!
Thanks 👍
Must be a good knife because i know u use it.
It's a beauty. Picked this up at cabella's or bass pro. I'm a Case fan for sure 👍👍

If you are looking for another carbon steel blade. Go with a Moore Maker.
Thanks, I will check them out 👍
What’s the wallet?
I made it 👍
@@JimmyMeatwhistle very cool!
@MrkwlCS thank you 😊
My beef with case is quality control
The only thing You know about case Quality Control is what You hear or read from other Knit Picking Knive Nerds on RUclips !
@@thunderbolt5354 ummm, you sure about that?
@@rjlewis8346 Yes so many Knit Picking Knive Nerds on RUclips they even copy Eachothers Videos !
I've been looking at that exact knife for a couple of years. Every time I have a bit of money, the knife is out of stock 😅
The yellow versions seem to be popular. 👍
Try Shepard hill’s cutlery👍🏻
Did I see you pinch grip the sheep’s foot?
I know this isn’t important but it’s better to close the knife gently rather than to snap it shut. Snapping the blade close can dull out the blade because the edge slams into the spring on the inside.
The blade never touches the back spring, even when snapping it closed fast.
oil the joints and it will snap open and closed better .
sorry make that 1960s
