Hopefully picking one of these up here pretty soon. Definitely going to get some of the grips and levers and the exhaust. Love the blue accents on the white!
Hi, Jim. Question about your Radiant Cycles Shorty GP Exhaust Motorcycle Slipon Short Muffler Pipe: Did you get any backfiring, popping, or sputtering when letting off the throttle and coming to a stop?
Very rarely would I ever get some pops in deceleration. Put them on at 100 miles and never had issues with them. I have since gotten a full exhaust/ intake/ tune setup, but would still highly recommend the GP Shortys for a starter exhaust.
I’ve read scout bobber owners stating their engine lights going on after installing those slip ons immediately after purchasing the bike. Did you install these before the 500 mile break in? Any tunning done?
I installed these the day I got home from the dealer, only about 100 miles on the clock. Zero check engine lights, no noticeable issues whatsoever. No tune.
I have the 80mm and I'm 5'11" and prefer a 32 inseam. The 80mm felt a little far at first, but it became perfect for me very quickly. So you'll probably enjoy the 80mm or 100mm. Hard to say which would be better for you.
The crappy stock seat that everyone hates 😂 lol so far the only thing I’ve upgraded on mine is from the pizza slice seat to the comfort seat before I got it after seeing so many reviewers talk about that issue. It’s lame that my bike sounds like a new sewing machine when it looks so cool 😎😓 dang, might address that too! My husband has the Indian dark horse and you can’t hear my bobber next to that 😅 I like your customizations 👍🏻 great video
Thanks so much! The GP Shortys are a great way to make it look and sound better until you figure out a more permanent solution. Also a 20lb weight reduction!
On the LSL's, If I have a 2021 -- Scout Bobber ABS should I choose Scout 1130 ABS or the Scout 1130 Bobber on the levers bike selection...? Love the videos, subscribed! A+
Thanks man! I am actually releasing an LSL Lever install video this Friday! Let me see if I can dig up the actual part numbers I ordered and see if that helps you.
200EL64RSW is the clutch lever and 200ER68RSW is the brake lever I ordered. Hope this helps! I made sure and sent them an email before I ordered to confirm the parts I was looking at would fit.
@@Jimbobbington Ok. I just sent LSL a message asking them what the difference is when specifiying what type of bike you have before it filters the long list of levers. Might be a good idea to tell everybody in your lever install video whether specifying 1130 scout bobber or selecting 1130 Scout ABS makes any difference.. I'll let you know what LSL comes back with.
What's your opinion on the GP shorties vs the Vance n Hines Slash Cuts ?? First time I'm seeing these and $100 seems very enticing coming from a half season on stock pipes..
They were never intended to be my "forever" exhaust, but they are worth every penny! They sound great and look great for very little money, and I recommend them fully for the baller on a budget! I knew I wanted a full exhaust in the long run, but these helped tide me over, so I could do plenty of research, and take all the time I need to make an informed decision on a full exhaust that I won't regret later down the road. I rode with a friend who has the V&H 3" slash cuts and he couldn't hear his bike over mine lol.
@@DylanBarrett7 no intake yet. I've got a Hacker Mayhem exhaust on order. Once it is finally delivered, I'll be getting the Arlen Ness Torque Box intake and a custom dyno tune!
Beautiful Scout Jimbobbington!!! Love the mods , but one suggestion , turn up your recording volume a bit more , I had my phone all the way up and couldn't hardly hear you 🤔 Great video otherwise though!!!!
I have tried to up my game since this video, hopefully my newer videos don't have this audio problem! I'll make sure I don't have my sound way up when editing so I can make sure you can hear it with volume at a moderate level.
Hey thanks so much! Keep in mind I basically bought it right before winter in Colorado, but I am at 2500 miles In just over 6 months. Riding season hasn't even really begun here yet.
So that's a good question! The further forward your feet go, the more your heel wants to drop and your toes point up more. Floorboards are fairly flat and don't typically allow adjustment of the angle, so it can actually conflict. I prefer pegs so you have lots of options in foot placement. I have ridden a bobber with 2" extended controls and floorboards and it was still comfortable but almost forced me into a kinda sitting on a toilet position lol
@@tysonaltevers3653 I think that would actually work well then! Here's a pic of how I sit on the bike with stock bars and the 80mm forward controls: drive.google.com/file/d/1pfdn1qOaCzvl2bx7ouvWTax-p-HR5WO5/view?usp=drivesdk
Not sure what you mean? The levers I have are both LSL Ergonia Levers, but I have the length adjusted differently for each side because I like 3 fingers on the clutch but only 2 on the brake. LSL has tons of different models and colors as well.
@@jondavidson1542 Ah ok i gotcha. Yes, they are two separate part numbers. If you click the link to the levers in the description of this video, it'll take you to LSL's full page of Ergonia levers. There's literally hundreds due to the color combinations. The top half of the list is all clutch levers, but if you scroll to the bottom, you'll start seeing brake levers.
@@Jimbobbington Thanks...thats what happened...page after page then I found the brake lever... Nice levers. I may order. Black Scout that I will highlight with red. Bit pricey so it will be purchase for later.
@@jondavidson1542 of course! They honestly aren't that expensive for what you get, it was something like $240 delivered, but could take a couple months to receive. A friend ordered some as well, so hopefully will have an install video and closeup look in the next month or so.
@@daveivins5968 for the lever install, there's a spring loaded finger down by the transmission where the clutch cable ends. You can get a big wrench on this and turn it so you can pop the cable out and get all the slack you need

Hey. Do you find you scrap peg less, with the extended controls?
Negative. Seemed about the same to me.
I'm 6 foot 3/4 inch. Do you think I should go with the 100mm after using your free spirit extended controls or do you think 3 in. Is enough for me?
Almost everyone 6' and above goes with the 100mm and loves them from all the posts I've seen. I don't think you can go wrong with the 100mm.
Looks great ! Subscribed
I really appreciate the support! It's almost been 8 months since this video, I'll have to do another one to go over all my mods since!

Could you share a link to buy the GP Shorties online? I live in Europe and here it is not easy to find anything below 500€.
Thanks!

Where did you buy the solo seat?
Got it directly from a local dealer quite a while ago
Can you put mid controls on the bike?
There are one or two mid control kits on the market, yes. Roland Sands makes one I believe.
Is that a headlight cowl?
The big black metal part around the headlight? They call that a Nacelle and it is standard equipment on the bobber.
White grips? Anything white turns black so fast on bikes
