- Rabbi Yaron Reuven has been warning the Jewish community for years to stay away from so called America's Rabbi Shmuley Boteach and his creepiness. Learn the truth, look at the Torah sources and warn the public to stay away from "reb shmuley".
1) The Chafetz Chaim Laws of Lashon Hara 4:7-8 says:
"One is allowed to repeat the wrongdoings of one who was raised in a religious environment and has cast off the yoke of Heaven. The reasoning is simple. If we allow a Rasha to rise up unchecked in our midst and we do not take a stand against the evil, our silence is not counted as righteousness, but as foolishness for allowing a cancer to grow unhindered."
2) Speaking Lashon Hara About a Heretic
The prohibition against speaking Lashon Hara applies when spoken about someone who is considered “amitecha”עמיתך (of your people), namely in observance of Torah and mitzvot. However, regarding those who are recognizably “apikorsim” (heretics), it is a mitzvah (fulfillment of a positive commandment) to disparage and shame them, to their face and behind their back, for everything that one witnesses or hears about them. The Torah states (Lev. 25:17 & Lev. 19:16) “One should not wrong his fellow” and “Do not act as a talebearer among your people,” but heretics do not fit under this category for they do not act as “your people.” Therefore, we follow the practice (as taught in Avot D’Rabbi Natan, a work from the Talmudic era), “those who hate you, L-rd, I will hate, and your rebellious ones I will dispute.” An “apikorus” (heretic) is one who denies the laws and prophecies of Israel, whether the Written Law or Oral Law. Even if he says, “All the Torah is true with the exception of one Scriptural verse, kal v’chomer, g’zeira shava, or one grammatical detail,” he is included in this category. ["Kal v’chomer” and "g’zeira shava” are Talmudic terms for two of the logical principles from which we understand many laws.] even intentionally wish to destroy it.

We have many emotionaly and mentally deranged people in the world. Yes they have a huge audience.
They are in most cases intelligent, at the same time very disturbed. For over two years I helped out in two hospitals in Eretz Yisrael which were trying to help sick neshamahs. Very difficult. Many of the care givers, doctors, were as difficult as the patients, and
in many cases moreso. This is the case in all senarios today, including the observant Jewish people. Rosh yeshivot, rabbonim, mashpiim, so called gedolim, etc. all walks of our people and the non-Jewish peoples of this very disturbed world. Do all you can to cure your ailments, only you can help yourself. May we all, the whole world, be Blessed with the revelation of HaMelech HaMoshiach myad mamash.

I am an FFF - far from frum and am doing the world's slowest teshuvah... but it is going very beautifully. As you point out 'in most cases intelligent'. Many began a rightful approach to reach us wayward ones. But, rightful is not Righteous. At some point one has to make a new teshuvah when things start to roll. One has to "Do the opposite" (that is from my own work) to achieve a greater balance. That includes for those criticizing those who err. I have termed the recent events and current processes as "The BIG Lesson". That is for all Jewish persons as individuals as well as the entire non-Jewish ones. And that includes the frum - every individual. As well as every single Rabbi. Our Culture as I call it, has everything necessary and that includes the importance of connecting in positive ways with the Outer World. Our resources are phenomenal. It is essential that every Rabbi immerse themselves in daily traditional study!!!!!! To train their own humility. It is essential that every Rabbi has a Rav.

Please tell us according to Halacha what would someone like Shmuely need to do in order to achieve full teshuvah, if that is even possible. Rabbi, I am horrified. My husband keeps listening to this rabbi and I don’t know how to convince him to stop. My husband listens to great talmidei chachamim- rav Avigdor Miller, rabbi Shlomo Yedidya Zaphrani etc. but sometimes likes to listen to this guy and I am just beside myself!!! I don’t know how someone can listen to such great Torah scholars and then such a person as Boteach. What do I do?!

I will further add, for those who don't know, 3000yrs of rabbis have done the hard work to find out the knowledge and pass it down. The knowledge like Heavenly judgement and the afterlife is not a secret after this much time.

This is very much a "big deal" for many reasons. For eg, who says they will be a dog in a civilised city. There are places in the world where dogs are sexually violated, and beaten up. Furthermore, if a parasite digs into the skin and eats the dog from the inside, no one will understand why the dog is howling so much.
Sincere teshuva can erase or at least soften the judgement. But when you have vermin like Taylor Swift and hundreds of celebrities -- who millions worship like demigods for some reason -- misleading the world then it is a "big deal."
And that is why Rabbis like Reuven, Anava and Mizrachi are doing the hard work of telling you what you need to hear.

I do not agree with much of what Rabbi Boteach does or says but some of the things that you are saying are driving people away from Judaism. We need to preserve our people and traditions but condemning everyone that doesn’t follow Torah to the letter is not helping the Jewish people.

But people like me and you have to respect the religious people in our community.
