IMGs can work as physician assistants and get valuable US Clinical experience (USCE) and even get paid for it. Our student tells you how to go about it.
Awesome video TL,DV: Assitant Physician position(very hands-on) are available in Missouri, Arkansas and Kansas. (probably ohio, oklahoma, utah ). Visa seeking students can also apply but need a sponsoring employer. Takes about 1 month to get the license. Cost: 500-600 dollars.
Thank you for the informative video ! A quick question - In the Missouri link, it is mentioned that for assistant physician positions, the graduates should not have had more than three years after graduation. So is there a limit and this option is not available once three years pass after graduation year ?
Is there any surgical field position in MO as an Assistant Physician ? And, would it help to have USCE in clinical fields even though you are applying for a General Surgery position?
It is saying not more than 3 years since graduating from medical school. So, thats the final cut-off duartion to apply? or are they flexible in years since graduation. please provide information in this regards . Thank you very much for sharing this information. Best wishes Chintav👍
but if some body does work in clinic and gets office letter head by consultant , and that consultant doesnt work in hospitals for now? but had affiliations with hospitals previous than? are the l.o.r.s good then if he writes about the active participation and duty 1 has done???
Im sorry but that is not the answer to the question I asked. I am an ECFMG certified doctor with low USMLE scores. My question is will low scores have a negative impact on getting an assistant physician position in Arkansas? My second question is, how does one go about finding a doctor to supervise them?
naje784 as long as you are certified and you find a doctor that's good enough. As to how to find the doctor you need to look at job postings, several will post or try on your own

Physician Assistant is a medical degree which requires a license . As IMG you can’t work as a PA is you don’t hold a degree plus you need a license

you will need to find out about the surgical field. On the second question, it won't hurt to get clinical USCE if you are unable get surgical.

Shristi Shrestha probably there is. Best to check directly with each state
No limit,it is forever
what about office based lor? does that count in the match too?
saddam hussain it will depend on the type of work and profile. Backend office work may not get an impactful LoR
