- Back in April of 2019, BMG released a vinyl box set for Venom called “In Nomine Satanas: 40 Years In Sodom.” Since I just picked one up, we’re going to unbox her and take a detailed look at everything in it. Visual comparisons between these reissues and their original vinyl versions will also be made.

I really loved the poster in Possessed because it’s the cover photo from the Canadian Assault ep, which was one of my favourite Venom records I had.
Absolutely Splendid BoxSet Indeed...Bloody Wicked...Cronos And The Chaps In The Band Would Be Quite Proud...
The originals came with a poster as well,in limited editions of course 🤘
This was a treat to watch, thanks!
Thanks for doing this! Ordering now. This is a crazy good value.
Hope you enjoy it! And, yes, an excellent value. Unlike the Ozzy box set, which is about $33 a record when you break it down. Now, that's a box I'm on the fence about getting.
Let me know what you thought of this box - most favorite item, least favorite item, maybe you just want to tell me about your Venom collection, or how devoted your strange worship of them is, or anything else that makes sense. Do all of that in the comments below.
I was looking forward to the comparison with the old LP's but you never touched on the sound - the most important part!!! How do they compare, honestly.
thanks.
The original Venom albums kicked my ass when I first heard them. I bought them all on cassette at a local used record store. When I found out Venom was a trio it blew my mind even more. That much noise from just 3 people? Holy shit!
I still love the band in all of its incarnations, but nothing beats the first 3.
🤘🏻😈🤘🏻
Agreed. My first Venom album was Black Metal. Bought it in 1984 and on cassette. My tape had Bloodlust on it, whereas my original vinyl did not. Strange to go from one format to the other and anticipate that track.
@@TheAccusationNetwork Weird I also had a Cassette of Black Metal with Bloodlust ? It confused me when I bought the vinyl back then
@@TheAccusationNetwork malisimos esos trabajos, no tienen riffs, son puros demos sin arreglos, sin remasterizacion, 🤦♂️ total bullshit!!
Thanks for the unboxing!Great job bro!
It's like watching my kids opening their Xmas gifts.
It's that exciting, yes.
Love this box set bought it on first day release Venom are my number one metal band
Can't go wrong with the original Venom, for sure.
@@TheAccusationNetworkvenom is DEMO!! HIS SONGS IS VERY VERY BAD RECORDING
Well that's made my xmas list haha. Awesome stuff mate as always. Big Venom fan and i'm a sucker for free patches, posters and ltd edtions vinyls.
Aren't we all? Yeah, I've loved this band since I first bought Black Metal a couple years after it came out. More box set videos will be coming in the future, for sure.
Easily, the best review on this prestigious set!
When you first showed AWWS, it appeared to be just the splatter vinyl in the plain black sleeve.
When you did the comparisons, the four-page insert was included with the reissue.
Thanks for flipping through the whole book as well!
I must own this!
Thanks again for the rad share!
Thank YOU for watching it. I'm glad you got something out of it. I'll be doing many more unboxings this year, and in fact, have one coming up next Monday. Hope you check in for it.
I Know It Would Be One Hell[No Pun Intended]Of Task Reboxing That Lot...😀😀
Very impressive, Thank you for showing
Thanks for watching!
Really interesting things they put inside the box - especially the original posters, which I haven't the "Welcome to hell" one...but saw on pics, back at the time on metal magazines...quite a delusion the back cover pics of "Black metal"...Abaddon has been trasformed into the "Barbaric Guardian to the Blackness gates".................
Wild!!! ...🤘🤘🤘
Looks like a tasty box set. I've all the originals but will definitely keep an eye out for it.
You should! Even the extras make it worth it.
Cool vid bud
Never been a big fan of Venom but that box was awesome! Great video also. Regarding the font, I love when it's some obscure font which is very hard to decipher, and it has to be really small and preferably dark grey on black background or something making it impossible to read haha.
Cheers!
Well, "occult" does mean "hidden," after all. ;)
17:00 Actually, some very first pressings of Welcome to Hell had that poster. But are now very obscure and very difficult to find original prints
Would love to see more unboxing videos!
More to come, to be sure.
esa caja esta muy BRUTAL!!!
Just picked up the cd version of this last week for the car. Beyond excellent set. But jeezus christ on crutches this lp version is massive! Looks like the Codex Gigas. Seems I will,by metal law, have to pick this up too.
So it is written, so it shall be. Enjoy your box!
Awesome.
Back when I purchased POSSESSED back in 1985, it was on blue vinyl.
Sadly, don’t have it anymore.
Aw, that would be killer to have!
Another mind blown moment. I recently bought the 2lp version, haven’t got around to showing it yet. So cool 🤘it has the same hype sticker on it. Awesome to see the box set. Have you picked up From the very depths yet? great album!!
You're the second person to recommend From The Very Depths to me so, clearly, I need to get on that. Very much enjoying Storm The Gates, though. As for the box set, yeah, it's pretty great. Nice to have clean copies of these records again... plus the extras!
I think from The Very Depths is totally amazing. So is Venom Inc.'s Ave Satanas.
🤘❤️🤘
I sadly😢 have yet to purchase this box set. There are a few mint (still sealed) copies on Discogs. Can anyone recommend any of the sellers?
Great video! I love me some Venom. My Eine kleine Nachtmusic vinyl is actually a strange picture disc. It’s a red sort of splattering design. And why they chose to go the “picture disc” format on this I’m not certain. But it’s definitely a gem!
Nice! Yeah, my original cover of Eine is red and single-sleeved. Got it from a buddy of mine but hadn't researched the edition yet. He's Canadian, so maybe it's from there. I'll look it up later.
The Accusation Network Thank you, kind sir!
How about the sound of the re-issues, compared to the original ones?
Just did an A/B comparison between tracks from the first three records and they're basically identical in sound, as I suspected.
Can you do a vid of the 1985 box set
Wow Matt I forgot about HLV. I had that.
I wasn't sure about the box, so I bought the two record and 2 cd versions. I already have the albums, but this video is getting me to rethink. The first three Venom albums Welcome to Hell, Black Metal and At War with Satan I have on 2 lp Back on Black editions, all three on transluscent red vinyl.
I have the Back On Black 2LP Black Metal but sadly got black vinyl, even though the Discogs seller stated red. Of course, the album is still a goddamn classic so no complaints there. Good luck on your decision.
@@TheAccusationNetwork Forgot to mention I also have the picture discs for the first three as well. And, damn! I LOVE "From the Very Depths" and Venom Inc.'s "Ave"!
(Sorry this is very long) Well I've been a Venom Fan since 1984, I discovered Welcome to Hell (and Slayer's First LP Show No Mercy) What happened was I was walking And out of the corner of my eye I saw the ''Goat of Mendes'' Symbol (Created by Anton LaVey for his Satanic Bible) I was confused and walked right up to these LPs And as I was reading these insane track titles ? I couldn't believe what I was holding in my hands (LOL) So over time I ended up owning (Welcome To Hell)(Black Metal)(At War With Satan)(Possessed)(Eine Kleine Nachtmusik Live)(Canadian Assault)(Acid Queen)(Die Hard)(Manitou)(Hell At Hammersmith EP)(Official Bootleg) And (From Hell To The Unknown) The track ''Senile Decay'' being exclusive to that LP and is still one of my faves They became my fave band of all time (Also VENOM Are The First Death Metal Band !!!! (Regardless of what genre word you prefer to use Thrash, Speed Metal, Death, Black Metal, etc, To quote Cronos on ''Too Loud for The Crowd'' ''Dont dictate to us, We Were The First'' and it's true !!! ) I was very lucky to have seen them play live in Canada April 8th 1985 with Slayer Opening for them !!! Insane and my very 1st concert at age 16 !!! I stopped buying Venom when Cronos left...
Decades later (Actually last month) I went online and bought 19 Venom Discs (17 CDs and 2 DVDs) (Sons of Satan 1979)(Demon 1980)( Welcome To Hell With Bonus Tracks 1981)(Black Metal With Bonus Tracks 1982)(At Wars With Satan With Bonus Tracks)(Possessed With Bonus Tracks)(Eine Kleine Nachtmusik Live) The 6 disc ''Assault Box Set'' Containing (Canadian Assault)(American Assault)(French Assault,)(Japan Assault)(German Assault and Scandinavian Assault) All replicated exactly like the LPs, I also got (Cronos Hell To The Unknown Anthology) Which is a 2 CD set that compiles his 3 Solo albums with some Venom Demos, But missing 3 tracks from his 3rd solo album) ? Still a great find, Next was (Cast In Stone, The Exclusive Double Disc re-issue with the Bonus Venom 96 EP included) !!! A very rare lucky find to get that edition) and Finally the DVDs for (The 7th Date Of Hell 1984) and (Alive In 85 Live In London) All Ordered and purchased during a single week and arrived 2 to 5 weeks later (From various countries) I'm very glad to have done this As I no longer have the old Vinyl, I plan to get (Calm Before The Storm)(The Second Coming Live)(Resurrection) and the next 5 CDs With only Cronos and his crew, I may get the 2nd Mantas solo album (Zero Tolerance) and 2 Venom Compilations that have some singles not on any of the CDs I just got.
So there's my Venom collection history and you may have noticed I did not mention any of the CDs without Cronos, No offence, I'm sure Mantas does some great guitar work on those albums but you cant change the lead vocalist and have it sound the same It's just too much of a change from my perspective, (Rob Halford of Judas Priest and Bruce Dickenson of Iron Maiden are both great example of this) But I did get downloads of those records with Demolition Man on Vocals, but I doubt I'd buy them, However Mantas, Abbadon, and Demolition Man reunited as Venom Inc. and their 1st CD ''Ave'' is a lot better than the material they did before without Cronos, So who knows I may buy that one ?
One last comment, I was wincing in pain as you were handling those vinyl records in your video (LOL) But I guess you bought that amazing box set for the Box, Book, Posters, Back-patch and reproduced LP Covers ? Very nice to look at But vinyl is too delicate So I mainly collect CDs, But I'd like to get that box set just for the look of all that great material !!! Nice video and LP comparison shots too, Have a good day fellow Members of the Venom Legions !!! Die Hard Accusation Network !!! Kevin Scott Feb-11-2021
Definitely a devoted Venom fan, for sure! That's awesome. Thanks for sharing and glad you enjoyed the video.
@@TheAccusationNetwork Venom Fan I am [And i did order] (Calm Before The Storm)(The Second Coming Live)(Resurrection) & (Mantas Zero Tolerance) It's great to have all these discs with bonus track, I'm hoping to eventually get every single (I may have to buy some Vinyl to do that) Sorry my message was basically listing all my CDs, I'm glad Venom still exists (And Venom Inc. to a lesser degree) Thanks for the reply !!! And the video !!!
I don't even need to see this video to know if it's worth it. Just for the posters patch and booklet alone it'd be worth it to me.....besides it's Venom!
My fave At War.
Pretty sure i have the lyrics to the title track still memorized from 16 years old. Great epic metal track.
At war with Satan was the first Venom album I ever heard. My friend bought it back in the mid eighties when it first came out.
Venom was the first true metal band I ever listened to. I remember me and a friend buying Welcome to Hell and getting home listening to it and just going wild. Great band
Have a HUGE love for classic Venom!
@@TheAccusationNetworkcreo que el grupo no debería llamarse venom sino DEMO porque que canciones tan mal grabadas y no tienen riffs 😡
..well that didn't take long...they had 2 left on Amazon....well....1 now.
Nice!
Anyone else has 'calm before the storm'. Haven't seen another person show it.. and the ppl i ask say they really dislike the album..
Had it in the '80s, but that was shortly before my family tossed my collection so my familiarity with it is limited. Don't think I hated it, though. Will have to look into checking it out again.
sir nice vlogs i have welcome to hell venom and at war with satan picture disc chucky winnipeg manitoba canada
Why is he touching those vinyls with greasy hands? After all, it makes it greasy.
Fascinating?? Rather More Like A Bloody Liar Of Them Telling Potential Purchasers Its A Double Sided Poster...
Possessed was to polished sounding just like when Motorhead released Iron Fist. Both albums were disappointing
it is minor criticism and i know its your property, but the way you touch and turn book/booklet pages really irks me. lol i would never ever lend you a book.
Omg I had to click off I couldn't watch you desecrate the pages of the tour book and crease the posters Oh my God what are you doing?
2022 and they can't reproduce photos properly, the reproduction of the photos on the back of Black Metal are dreadful, At War With Satan should have a 2 page leaflet. If ya' gonna' do something, do it properly, not half assed.
