how do you dig the moog one? has it worked for you as a producer, or did you get it mostly to make presets for your company? btw your ob-6 patches are absolute fire
Lovely work on these patches. Really diverse tonal options. Some people, still angry about the cost of the One, will inevitably chime in to say they don't think it sounds good. They will continue to be wrong. The One sounds fantastic. Bravo!
Finally, sounds like one would expect from the descendant of the Memorymoog. Almost every other demonstration of this synth includes weird overly-modulated sounds that are far more grating on the nerves than they are pleasant on the ears. This soundset is really nice.
I would love another set for the Moog one. Literally the best ones out there. Like their sales would have been better if they hired you to the factory banks.
Everything has some mellow character to it (which I like). Do you think it’s “lack” of drive knob or else? I wonder how new Muse will execute on those songs. I enjoy Sub37CV and Model D, of course never enough of Moogs. Though for poly One did not fit (starting with budget) but I’d want just one poly waiting for Muse…. or OB-X8. Thanks for very good demos!
Here are two video links from two incredible Moog one users that have really unlocked its capabilities. Id rather have a Moog one over the Muse ruclips.net/video/P6mJmSWkIlY/видео.htmlsi=uAa0sJDeZdpNFXgW ruclips.net/video/VKLHzLW73Xs/видео.htmlsi=t2gk06ZrXux6XC5N
@ Thanks for the links mate! Have not seen those, sound great. Should’ve acted when at some point One was on sale $5.5k new 😸 As of now Muse is home and I like its own character. (As long as I can sort out running issues lol). But that’s Moog, I had to ship my Model D in a mont for the binary aftertouch issue. Too bad that had to cancel One. It also had editor. They just polished it. Though it will just increase resale value for folks who got it (and they would not be selling it of course).
@@samprock yeah I hope to save up to get the Moog one before they officially sale out. Right now I'm sticking to my 4 instrument rule. I currently own a Dave Smith Tempest, Virus TI2 and a 3rd Wave. I am selling my machinedrum and hopefully get the One by mid of next year. I should consider myself lucky to already own such legendary synths, but the One is that final piece to my studio lol. I hope they fix your Model D soon. I wish I had one of those bad boys, but then again I have to stick with my 4 synth rule haha.
@@masonjahncke7844 Not to talk you out, One’s features justify and it can be a personal dream. Just saying that Muse covers Model D. If today, I would probably hesitated to have Muse and Model D. Happy it worked out the way it did. Though check Muse, unless One is an exact fit. Of course moogacholic like me is not qualified to give any advice. I have Subsequent 37CV too 🤓
The factory presets are horrible and...When busy as me doing loads of other stuff these 128 presets comes very handy if you dont have time for "going deep" into the One. Cool sounds. Well done Luke Neptune.
Didn’t like the factorypreset( hardly listened even and just went to work myself instead ) With this soundset most bread and buttersounds i bought a moog one for are covered , thanks . I’ll go on to a decent (e-) piano sound now . Thanks a lot for this very good set . Moog should ask you .
Yo what's up Luke. I love synths and I want to create amazing sounds on them.. But I suck at playing keys. Any tips/things to do that'll help me get better learning music theory & playing keys?
Whats your most favorite synth? Great job on Moog One patches!! i WILL purchase the soundset. I'm on the fence between getting Voyager XL or P10 . I had voyager none XL model and sold it now i want it back... whats your thoughts? i know two different things but which one you buying first? to accomadtae my moog one lol!!!? do you also do patches for Voyager or any mono synths?
I was hoping that the Moog One could be the 'One' analog synth that I could gig with, stack it on my Rompler (Korg Kronos), and quickly be able to access phat basses (like my Moog Voyager or Sub37), and brasses (like a prophet). Your demos have come the closest to what I've seen in the online reviews. What is your opinion of how the One's basses compare to the Voyager and/or Sub37? And, other than its weight/size, is it an excellent option for gigging & to be able to quickly access patches?
The oscillators aren't as fat as a Voyager or Sub37 but there's a few tricks that you can do to fatten up bass sounds so much so that i'd be happy to use my Moog One for basses instead of my Minimoog. It can actually end up sounding too fat sometimes and needs reigning back in a bit.
@@lukeneptune3820 Thanks for the info. I'm "very" surprised that the engineers behind the Moog One didn't make the oscillators as fat as it's predecessors. They should have included factory presets of favorite Voyager, Sub37, memorymoog, etc. patches (IMO): Or at least downloadable banks of said synths for registered owners. This would make dropping $8k on the One more appealing. Just a thought.
@@lukeneptune3820 would love to hear these tricks as I was considering buying a minimoog just for bass lol I already have a Moog One but haven’t gotten the best bass patches yet. Are the tricks something that’s easy to explain?
Argh I thought I decided not to save up for a One. So, your opinion whether it’s worth it? How big of a bother were bugs or other issues when you were creating these?
In addition, how easy was it to make a kitchen sink synth like the Moog One sound vintage? Like the Prophet Rev2, it’s very capable depending on how well you program it.
It took me longer than usual. At first i was a bit concerned that i wouldn't' be able to create some of my signature vintage sounds but as soon as i figured out a few tricks and found some sweet spots to work in everything seemed to fall into place.
@@lukeneptune3820 I would love to see a video showing some of these tricks. I've had the one for a few months and everything I make sounds like dogshit. I have your patches for several synths, and as always yours sound great on the One. Im having trouble finding the sweetspots, but I know they are there. The envelopes are like saggy or soft or something and the attack sounds weird to me a lot. I know im just doing it wrong lol
On the 16 but it should sound just as good on the 8. With every patch i made i took into consideration the fact that many people will be using the 8, so for example i tried not to make too many patches that eat up polyphony.
Great job, Luke. I am fortunate to have both the P-10 Rev 4 and the One 16 voice. To tell you the truth, I liked the sound of the Prophet better…it has that fat Prophet sound, and all I heard from the One were new-agy pads…and all the demos were frankly terrible. Moog…you could do WAY better. Now, you have…and it sounds much more capable. I THINK MOOG SHOULD HIRE YOU !! The videos they have put out are terrible. You show a side of it not present in the presets or the demos. I now want to keep it. Can you put out more sounds like this ??
They're equally as good as each other imo. Each has it's own strengths and weaknesses. They can actually sound quite similar to be honest. They both have that Moogy sound. The 10 is a bit punchier with envelopes that sound more analogue. It's a tiny bit fatter and warmer in the low mids. The One has all those amazing extra features though and when you start using them things can start sounding pretty amazing pretty fast.
Oh my god, this sounds absolutely wonderful. I loved playing this thing in the shops when they had them (so much so I got the vibe the people at the shop were sick of seeing me haha) Been slowly saving for one - but since InMusic bought them and rumors of them being discontinued soon and stuff out of the factory this year being a bit weird on the QC side floating about I'm a bit anxious about it. There's one going second hand from a music shop from an earlier batch though, and I'm certainly tempted. Still worth it after 2 years you think?

How refreshing a stellar soundset demostrated by a skilled musician. 👍👍👍
Gotta say, these are some really stellar patches Luke! Some of the best ones ve heard for the One so far. A+ 😎👍
Hey thanks mate. I’m really pleased you like them. They’ll be more to come in the future too :)
Lol sorry for the typos, is 3:30am here hehe 😅

Hi luke
Best sounds i heard so far for the moog one. By far.
Considering buying the one, if i do this video convinced me. Truly good stuff.
Outstanding work! Well done!
Wow 24k bass! I was hoping my Moog could get good bass sounds. People keep saying it can’t but sounds very full and big on my side
Much like "No Stairway" for guitar, there needs to be a "No Jump" rule for keyboard demos.
